The performance of a box-type solar cooker can be represented in terms of two figures of merit, F1 and F2. The second figure F2 is a controlling factor in the sensible heating of a load. The present work validates F2 by computing this figure from experimental data by two different procedures and comparing the results. An attempt has also been made to provide some guidelines for selecting a suitable temperature interval for determination of F2. The results of some experiments to study the effect of number of pots and the load on F2 have also been presented. It is recommended that for standardization tests should be conducted at full load.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of a study undertaken for identifying niche areas in India where renewable energy based decentralized generation options can be financially more attractive as compared to grid extension for providing electricity. The cost of delivering electricity in remote areas considering cost of generation of electricity and also cost of its transmission and distribution in the country have been estimated. Considering electricity generated from coal thermal power plants, the delivered cost of electricity in remote areas, located in the distance range of 5–25 km is found to vary from Rs. 3.18/kWh to Rs. 231.14/kWh depending on peak electrical load up to 100 kW and load factor. The paper concludes that micro-hydro, dual fuel biomass gasifier systems, small wind electric generators and photovoltaic systems could be financially attractive as compared to grid extension for providing access to electricity in small remote villages.  相似文献

The present study concentrates on photovoltaic (PV) projects for providing decentralized power supply in remote locations in India. Results of a techno-economic evaluation are presented. Some PV projects in the capacity range 1–110 kWp, that have either been implemented or are under implementation, have been considered. An analysis of the capital cost of the PV projects and sub-systems has been undertaken. Levelized unit cost of electricity (LUCE) has been estimated for eighteen select locations situated in different geographical regions of the country. The LUCE is found to vary in the range of Rs. 28.31–59.16/kW h (US$ 0.65–1.35/k Wh) for PV projects in the capacity range 1–25 kWp. In view of high unit cost of electricity from PV projects, need for financial incentives has been examined from the perspective of users. A sensitivity analysis has also been undertaken.  相似文献

A techno-economic evaluation of small wind electric generator (SWEG) projects for providing decentralized power supply in remote locations in India is presented. SWEG projects that have either been implemented or are under implementation have been considered. The capital costs of the SWEG projects and sub-systems have been analysed. Levelised unit cost of electricity (LUCE) has been estimated for 19 select places located in different geographical regions of the country. The LUCE is found to vary in the range of Rs. 4.67–83.02/kWh (US$1 0.10–1.86/kWh) for wind electric generator projects in the capacity range 3.2–50 kW with annual mean wind speed variation in the range 5–10 m/s. Issues relating to their environmental impact(s), barriers to diffusion and institutional mechanism(s) to implement such projects have also been discussed.  相似文献

Absorption of CW Yb-fiber laser light of 1.07 μm wavelength in water has been measured at different water temperatures and laser intensities. The absorption coefficient was estimated to be 0.135 cm(-1) at 25 °C water temperature, and this was found to decrease with temperature at a rate of 5.7 × 10(-4) cm(-1) °C(-1). The absorption coefficient increased significantly when the laser beam was focused in water, and the increase depended on the distance of the focal point from the water surface. This has been attributed to the absorption and scattering losses of laser radiation in a cavity formed in water by the focused beam at laser intensities in the megawatts per square centimeter and higher range.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: All National health programmes are implemented through the Primary Health Centre staff. Targets for the year 2000 A.D. have been fixed for different programmes. Some programmes are getting more emphasis, perhaps at the cost of others. The study area has already achieved most of the targets set for 2000 A.D. Studying the time utilisation pattern of the workers of these PHCs can give valuable information for planning of working of other PHCs. OBJECTIVE: To study the time utilisation pattern of the staff of the two PHCs run by Centre for Community Medicine, AIIMS. METHODS: The multipurpose workers (MPWs) and the health assistants (HAs) were accompanied by investigators and information collected regarding their utilisation of time in the field. The Medical Officers were asked to maintain a diary from which this information was collected RESULTS: The MPWs spend about 3.3 minutes in each house. Child care (immunisation, Vit. A and folifer distribution) is the main activity being carried out by both male as well as female worker. Other important activities for male worker are: family welfare (18%), malaria work (11%) and collection of vital statistics (10%). For the female worker Antenatal care (25%) and family welfare (20%) were other important activities. For the HAs also child care was an important activity. However for the male HA malaria related work was the most important. The Medical Officer spends about 60% of this time in administrative and supervisory work. CONCLUSIONS: Immunisation programme is getting the maximum input from workers, which is reflected in > 90% coverage of all vaccines. Family Welfare and Tuberculosis activity are not getting the emphasis which they deserve. Some rethinking about the strategy is essential if all round progress in achieving the targets for the year 2000 A.D. is to be made.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Angiosarcomas are uncommon soft tissue neoplasms with a predilection for skin and superficial soft tissues. CASES: Two cases of angiosarcoma occurred at unusual sites, the parotid gland and lung. The parotid lesion was characterized by malignant cells present singly, in loose groups, in tight three-dimensional aggregates and in acinar formation initially misinterpreted as an adenocarcinoma. The lung mass showed malignant cells in association with vascular endothelium, suggestive of angiosarcoma. Both cases were negative for Ulex europaeus and Factor VIII-related protein but demonstrated strong immunopositivity for CD31, a highly specific endothelial marker. CONCLUSION: In the absence of vasoformative structures, important diagnostic pitfalls are pseudovascular adenoid squamous cell carcinoma, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, melanoma and lymphoma. Immunocytochemical studies and clinical history are essential to the correct diagnosis.  相似文献

Absorption of solar radiation in the glass cover(s) of a flat plate solar collector increases the temperature of cover(s) and hence changes the values of convective and radiative heat transfer coefficients. The governing equations for the case of single as well as double glazed collector have been solved for inner and outer surface temperatures of glass cover(s) with/without including the effect of absorption of solar radiation in the glass cover(s), with appropriate boundary conditions. The effects of absorption of solar radiation on inner and outer surface temperatures and consequently on convective and radiative heat transfer coefficients have been studied over a wide range of the independent variables. The values of glass cover temperatures obtained from numerical solutions of heat balance equations with and without including the effect of absorption of solar radiation in the glass cover(s) are compared. For a single glazed collector the increase in glass cover temperature due to absorption of solar radiation could be as high as 6°. The increase in temperatures of first and second glass covers of a double glazed collector could be as high as 14° and 11°, respectively. The effect on the convective heat transfer coefficient between the absorber plate and the first glass cover is substantial. The difference in the values of the convective heat transfer coefficients between the absorber plate and the first glass cover (hcp1) of a double glazed collector for the two cases: (i) including the effect of absorption and (ii) neglecting the effect of absorption in glass cover, could be as high as 49%. Correlations for computing the temperatures of inner and outer surfaces of the glass cover(s) of single and double glazed flat plate collectors are developed. The relations developed enable incorporation of the effect of absorption of solar radiation in glass cover(s) in the relations for inner and outer surface temperatures in a simple manner. By making use of the relations developed for inner and outer surface temperatures of glass cover(s) the convective and radiative heat transfer coefficients can be calculated so close to those obtained by making use of surface temperatures of glass cover(s) obtained by numerical solutions of heat balance equations that numerical solutions of heat balance equations are not required.  相似文献

Vessel surface reconstruction with a tubular deformable model   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Three-dimensional (3-D) angiographic methods are gaining acceptance for evaluation of atherosclerotic disease. However, measurement of vessel stenosis from 3-D angiographic methods can be problematic due to limited image resolution and contrast. We present a method for reconstructing vessel surfaces from 3-D angiographic methods that allows for objective measurement of vessel stenosis. The method is a deformable model that employs a tubular coordinate system. Vertex merging is incorporated into the coordinate system to maintain even vertex spacing and to avoid problems of self-intersection of the surface. The deformable model was evaluated on clinical magnetic resonance (MR) images of the carotid (n=6) and renal (n=2) arteries, on an MR image of a physical vascular phantom and on a digital vascular phantom. Only one gross error occurred for all clinical images. All reconstructed surfaces had a realistic, smooth appearance. For all segments of the physical vascular phantom, vessel radii from the surface reconstruction had an error of less than 0.2 of the average voxel dimension. Variability of manual initialization of the deformable model had negligible effect on the measurement of the degree of stenosis of the digital vascular phantom  相似文献
