The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical usefulness of three-dimensional (3D) images of the bronchi obtained using helical CT. Thirteen patients with lung cancer, one with tracheal diverticulum, and one with bronchial amyloidosis were examined. The CT scanner employed was the Toshiba Xforce. The helical CT scan cycle consisted of 20 continuous rotations, each requiring 1.5 sec, for a total scanning time of 30 sec. Scans were obtained using a 5-mm X-ray beam width, a 5-mm/1.5 sec couchtop sliding speed, and a 2-mm reconstruction interval. 3D images were reconstructed using a CEMAX VIPstation. The optimal lower and upper threshold CT values for 3D images of the bronchi were -650 and -100 HU, respectively, and 3D images clearly depicted endobronchial lesions. Cartilage crescents were also demonstrated, but longitudinal and circular mucosal folds could not be visualized. In conclusion, 3D images of the bronchi acquired using helical CT were useful in evaluating endobronchial lesions.  相似文献

Nitroalkyl acrylates and methacrylates involving some new compounds were prepared. The homopolymerization of these monomers in toluene and their copolymerization with styrene in acetone were carried out with azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. The rate of polymerization of the nitroalkyl acrylates showed a correlation with the number of nitro groups situated on the ester side chain. The apparent activation energies of the polymerization were found to be 22.0–27.5 kcal./mole for the nitroalkyl acrylates and about 11.5–13.0 kcal./mole for the nitroalkyl methacrylates. From the reactivity ratios and Q-e values of the copolymerization the following information was obtained. The copolymerization behavior of nitroalkyl acrylates and methacrylates showed an alternating tendency, and these monomers belong to the conjugative monomer groups. On the reactivities of these monomers, the polarity of vinyl group was affected a little by nitro group of ester bond side, and the resonance affected little. These monomers were crosslinked with 2-methyl-2-nitro-1,3-propylene diacrylate. Some of the polymers showed marked improvement in the physical properties of elastomers.  相似文献

This paper presents a construction of timing-error-detecting dual-edge-triggered flip-flops (DET-FFs). The proposed FF is based on a conventional DET-FF and a conventional timing error detection method. While the conventional timing error detection uses a transition detector with relatively large area, the proposed FF uses internal signals in a DET-FF as as an alternative to the transition detector. This paper also shows an evaluation result indicating that the proposed FF has smaller area overhead than the simple combination of the conventional DET-FF and timing error detection methods.  相似文献

Synthesis of phytochelatins (PCs), heavy-metal-sequestering peptides, in the marine green alga, Dunaliella tertiolecta, was evaluated under various conditions of exposure to heavy metals. To investigate the effect of heavy metals on both PC synthesis and their upstream biosynthetic reactions, an ion-pair-HPLC system was developed in this study, by which PCs and their biosynthetic intermediates, cysteine (Cys), gamma-glutamylcysteine (gammaEC) and glutathione (GSH), could be determined simultaneously with high sensitivity. When the cells were exposed to Zn2+, the level of PCs was maximal at 200 microM and significantly higher than that obtained after exposure to 400 microM Cd2+, which is the strongest inducer of PC synthesis in higher plants in vivo and in vitro as well as in microalgae. The predominant PC subtype was PC4, followed by PC3 and PC5, whereas PC2, which is generally abundant in higher plants, has the lowest level among PC2 to PC5. These results suggest that the characteristics of PC synthase in D. tertiolecta including the requirement of heavy metals for its catalysis and substrate specificity towards GSH and PC(n) are considerably different from those in higher plants and other algae. While PC synthesis proceeded in the heavy-metal-treated cells, the level of GSH did not appreciably change. To maintain the same size of the GSH pool, GSH must be newly synthesized to balance the amount consumed for PC synthesis.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple method to measure the relative permittivity of glass-epoxy printed circuit boards (PCBs). In this method, the relative permittivity as a function of frequency is measured using an actual PCB. In order to estimate the relative permittivity, the reflection coefficient is measured with a network analyzer. The relative permittivity is calculated by observing the frequencies of the resonant cavity modes. We show that the relative permittivity of an FR-4 sample decreases from 4.3 to 4.2 at frequencies from 300 MHz to 2 GHz  相似文献

A novel in vitro percutaneous absorptiometry utilizing a portable open-ended photoacoustic (PA) cell as the longitudinal diffusion cell was developed. With this system it was feasible to measure the reduction of drug applied to a membrane by the PA method and the amount of drug penetrating the membrane to the diffusion cell by absorbance, simultaneously in real time. A shikonin ointment prepared in a hydrocarbon vehicle was used as the model sample. The in vitro percutaneous absorptiometry was performed by means of a physiological saline solution and the skin of a hairless mouse. As a result, after the lag time the absorbance increased in proportion to time, whereas the PA signal reduced in proportion to the square root of time. As the signal obtained by the PA method corresponds to the amount of drug released from the ointment, a good correlation with Higuchi's theory is attained. Consequently, these results suggested the usefulness of this novel percutaneous absorptiometry technique which utilizes the PA method.  相似文献

We have screened the p53 status of 156 human cell lines, including 142 tumor cell lines from 27 different tumor types and 14 cell lines from normal tissues by using functional analysis of separated alleles in yeast. This assay enables us to score wild-type p53 expression on the basis of the ability of expressed p53 to transactivate the reporter gene HIS3 via the p53-responsive GAL1 promotor in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Of 142 tumor cell lines, at least 104 lines (73.2%) were found to express the mutated p53 gene: 94 lines (66.2%) were mutated in both alleles, three lines (2.1%) were heterozygous, and no p53 cDNA was amplified from seven lines (4.9%). Of the 14 cell lines originating from normal tissues, all the transformed or immortalized cell lines expressed mutant p53 only. Yeast cells expressing mutant p53 derived from 94 cell lines were analyzed for temperature-sensitive growth. p53 cDNA from eight cell lines showed p53-dependent temperature-sensitive growth, growing at 30 degrees C but not at 37 degrees C. Four temperature-sensitive p53 mutations were isolated: CAT-->CGT at codon 214 (H214R), TAC-->TGC at codon 234 (Y234C), GTG-->ATG at codon 272 (V272M), and GAG-->AAG (E285K). Functionally wild-type p53 was detected in 38 tumor cell lines (26.8%) and all of the diploid fibroblasts at early and late population doubling levels. These results strongly support the previous findings that p53 inactivation is one of the most frequent genetic events that occurs during carcinogenesis and immortalization.  相似文献
