Carbon nitride films have been deposited by dielectric barrier discharge with a CH4/N2 gas mixture at different conditions. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and ellipsometry were used to systematically study chemical composition, bond structure and surface morphology of deposited films. Various bonds between carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and also oxygen were observed.  相似文献

Microstructure and properties of flame sprayed tungsten carbide coatings   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
This article reports on feasibility experiments carried out with oxy-acetylene spray system with various oxygen to fuel ratios using two different tungsten carbide powders and powder feeding methods, to evaluate the newly developed fused WC, synthesised by transferred arc thermal plasma method. Transferred arc thermal plasma method is more economical and less energy intensive than the conventional arc method and results in a fused carbide powder with higher hardness. The microstructure and phase composition of powders and coatings were analysed by optical and scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Carbon content of the powders and coatings were determined to study the decarburisation of the material during spraying process. Coatings were also characterised by their hardness and abrasive wear. The effects of metallurgical transformation and phase content are related to wear performance. The results demonstrate that the powders exhibit various degree of phase transformation during the spray process depending on the type of powder, powder feeding and spray parameters. The carbon loss during the spray process in excess of 45% resulted in reduced hardness and wear resistance of the coatings. Coatings with high amount of WC and W2C along with FeW3C showed higher wear resistance. Thus, coatings of high wear resistance can be produced using fused tungsten carbide powder with WC and W2C phases, which can be economically synthesised by thermal plasma transferred arc method.  相似文献

Large scale grid computing systems may provide multitudinous services, from different providers, whose quality of service will vary. Moreover, services are deployed and undeployed in the grid with no central coordination. Thus, to find out the most suitable service to fulfill their needs, or to find the most suitable set of resources on which to deploy their services, grid users must resort to a Grid Information Service (GIS). This service allows users to submit rich queries that are normally composed of multiple attributes and range operations. The ability to efficiently execute complex searches in a scalable and reliable way is a key challenge for current GIS designs. Scalability issues are normally dealt with by using peer-to-peer technologies. However, the more reliable peer-to-peer approaches do not cater for rich queries in a natural way. On the other hand, approaches that can easily support these rich queries are less robust in the presence of failures. In this paper we present the design of NodeWiz, a GIS that allows multi-attribute range queries to be performed efficiently in a distributed manner, while maintaining load balance and resilience to failures.  相似文献

The authors prepared surface modified (with polyelectrolyte layers), tea polyphenols (TPP) encapsulated, gelatin nanoparticles (TPP‐GNP) and characterised them. The size of the spherical nanoparticles was ∼50 nm. Number of polyelectrolyte layers and incubation time influenced the encapsulation efficiency (EE); highest EE was noted in nanoparticles with six polyelectrolyte layers (TPP‐GNP‐6L) incubated for 4 h. TPP released from TPP‐GNP‐6L in simulated biological fluids indicated protection and controlled release of TPP due to encapsulation. Mathematical modelling indicated anomalous type as a predominant mode of TPP release. TPP‐GNP‐6L exhibited enhanced pharmacokinetics in rabbit model compared with free TPP. The area under the concentration‐time curve and mean residence time were significantly higher in TPP‐GNP‐6L compared with free TPP which provide an evidence of higher bioavailability of TPP due to encapsulation. Atmospheric dispersion is a complex nonlinear physical process with numerous uncertainties in model parameters, inputs, source parameters, initial and boundary conditions. Accurate propagation of these uncertainties through the dispersion models is crucial for a reliable prediction of the probability distribution of the states and assessment of risk. A simple three-dimensional Gaussian puff-based dispersion model is used as a test case to study the effect of uncertainties in the model parameters and initial conditions on the output concentration. A polynomial chaos based approach is used to numerically investigate the evolution of the model output uncertainties due to initial condition and parametric uncertainties. The polynomial chaos solution is found to be an accurate approximation to ground truth, established by Monte Carlo simulation, while offering an efficient computational approach for large nonlinear systems with a relatively small number of uncertainties.  相似文献

We study multithreaded push–relabel based algorithms for computing maximum cardinality matching in bipartite graphs. Matching is a fundamental combinatorial problem with applications in a wide variety of problems in science and engineering. We are motivated by its use in the context of sparse linear solvers for computing the maximum transversal of a matrix. Other applications can be found in many fields such as bioinformatics (Azad et al., 2010) [4], scheduling (Timmer and Jess, 1995) [27], and chemical structure analysis (John, 1995) [14]. We implement and test our algorithms on several multi-socket multicore systems and compare their performance to state-of-the-art augmenting path-based serial and parallel algorithms using a test set comprised of a wide range of real-world instances.  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate the changes in lipids and their effect on the taste of migaki-nishin during drying. Lipid was extracted from herring fillets following different drying stages to measure the degree of lipid oxidation and changes in lipid composition, and fatty acid profile. Peroxide value, carbonyl value and acid value of the lipids were significantly increased (P < 0.05) during the drying period. Marked increase in free fatty acids, with decreases in triglyceride and phospholipid content were observed in proportion to drying time and this result suggested that hydrolysis was induced by lipases and phospholipases. The decreases in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), were observed in the total lipids and phospholipid fraction. In addition, significant increase in PUFAs especially DHA was found in the free fatty acid fraction. Sensory evaluation showed that an addition of DHA to mentsuyu significantly (P < 0.05) enhances the intensities of thickness, mouthfulness and continuity. These results suggest that during drying period lipid oxidation was not only occurred but also lipolysis predominantly released DHA, which might have a contribution to kokumi enhancement of migaki-nishin.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on whole milk density measured at four different temperatures: 5, 10, 15, and 20 °C. A total of ninety-three individual milk samples were collected from morning milking of thirty-two Holstein Friesian dairy cows, of national average genetic merit, once every two weeks over a period of 4 weeks and were assessed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for milk composition analysis. Density of the milk was evaluated using two different analytical methods: a portable density meter DMA35 and a standard desktop model DMA4500M (Anton Paar GmbH, UK). Milk density was analysed with a linear mixed model with the fixed effects of sampling period, temperature and analysis method; triple interaction of sampling period x analysis method x temperature; and the random effect of cow to account for repeated measures. The effect of temperature on milk density (ρ) was also evaluated including temperature (t) as covariate with linear and quadratic effects within each analytic method. The regression equation describing the curvature and density–temperature relationship for the DMA35 instrument was ρ = 1.0338−0.00017T−0.0000122T2 (R2 = 0.64), while it was ρ = 1.0334 + 0.000057T−0.00001T2 (R2 = 0.61) for DMA4500 instrument. The mean density determined with DMA4500 at 5 °C was 1.0334 g cm−3, with corresponding figures of 1.0330, 1.0320 and 1.0305 g cm−3 at 10, 15 and 20 °C, respectively. The milk density values obtained in this study at specific temperatures will help to address any bias in weight–volume calculations and thus may also improve the financial and operational control for the dairy processors in Ireland and internationally.  相似文献
