细菌驱动微转子马达

日本国家高级工业科学与技术研究所的一个研究组正在利用快速移动的细菌来驱动微转子马达，这是第一个在无机材料中加进了细菌的微机械器件。这种生物分子马达能比传统的马达更有效的将化学能转化为机械能，还能在大型结构中发挥自修复和自组织的潜能，有望用在微型机器人和微小电子系统中。

Prognosis of myasthenia gravis: a retrospective study of 380 patients

The 9139 follow-up records of 438 myasthenia gravis (MG) patients were reviewed. Excluding those patients who were diagnosed 5 or more years after symptom onset (n = 37) and those who experienced only oculomotor symptoms throughout follow-up (n = 21), there were 380 patients. A survival analysis approach was used to assess the influence of prognostic factors on the following endpoints: (a) stable complete remission, (b) complete remission of at least 6 months and (c) pharmacological remission of at least 6 months. Early diagnosis was associated with a better prognosis with respect to all endpoints. Thymectomy also improved the prognosis but only for those patients without thymoma. Later MG onset was associated with a higher tendency to achieve pharmacological remission.     

Lamivudine treatment for chronic replicative hepatitis B virus infection after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation

The risk of severe hepatic damage in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is well known; more effective treatments for this infection are needed. Lamivudine is being studied in immunocompetent and immunosuppressed HBV infected patients. We report a patient suffering from chronic replicative HBV infection after allogeneic BMT, who responded to lamivudine therapy. A 24-year-old woman with CML received an allogeneic BMT from her HLA-identical sister in June 1992. Before transplant, her HBV status demonstrated viral contact without active infection (HBsAb+, HBcAb+ IgG, HBeAb+). Four months after BMT mild chronic liver GVHD appeared, requiring immunosuppressive treatment. Antibodies to HBV completely disappeared post-transplant. Acute icteric hepatitis occurred 2 years later, with HBsAg+, high level of HBV-DNA, HBeAg+ and HBcAb IgM+. Lamivudine 100 mg/day rapidly reduced transaminase levels and effected HBV-DNA disappearance within 2 months. The treatment was well tolerated; no hematological side-effects occurred. This preliminary observation warrants further investigation of lamivudine treatment in bone marrow transplanted patients with active HBV infection.     

Current methods for mycotoxins analysis and innovative strategies for their reduction in cereals: an overview

Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by moulds in food that are considered a substantial issue in the context of food safety, due to their acute and chronic toxic effects on animals and humans. Therefore, new accurate methods for their identification and quantification are constantly developed in order to increase the performance of extraction, improve the accuracy of identification and reduce the limit of detection. At the same time, several industrial practices have shown the ability to reduce the level of mycotoxin contamination in food. In particular, a decrease in the amount of mycotoxins could result from standard processes naturally used for food processing or by procedures strategically introduced during processing, with the specific aim of reducing the amount of mycotoxins. In this review, the current methods adopted for accurate analyses of mycotoxins in cereals (aflatoxins, ochratoxins, trichothecenes, fumonisins) are discussed. In addition, both conventional and innovative strategies adopted to obtain safer finished products from common cereals intended for human consumption will be explored and analysed. © 2018 Society of Chemical Industry     

微驱动器技术使得手机上的照相机镜头可以转动

Samsung Electro-Mechanics公司（Suwon,Kyongion,韩国）开发出了一种自动照相机驱动技术,可以让用户只须按一个按键,就可以转动照相手机上的照相机.这种被称为ACD的解决方案基于微型传动马达和高精度机械结构,可代替目前使用的技术,现在的技术需要手机使用者手动旋转照相机进行调整,以便拍摄风景或人物.ACD需要60mA的电流,比标准的振动马达少40%.ACD产品的使用寿命高达70000次,相当于连续10年每天用手机拍摄20张照片.     

Evaluation of beauvericin and enniatins in Italian cereal products and multicereal food by liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry

In this study, 48 multicereal baby foods samples including 25 of pasta and 23 of multicereal baby foods from supermarkets of Campania region (Italy) were analysed for evaluating the presence of beauvericin (BEA) and enniatins (ENs) A, A1, B, B1 and B4. Subsequently to evaluate the risk exposure of Italian population and infant population over the consumption of pasta or multicereal baby food, was, respectively, evaluated.

Raisins and Currants as Conventional Nutraceuticals in Italian Market: Natural Occurrence of Ochratoxin A

The healthy consumers make a strong pressure to natural products that can prevent the chronic diseases and improve the general health status, and therefore an important aspect that have to be considered is the safe level of the nutraceuticals. This study reports the occurrence of Ochratoxin A (OTA) and associated fungal contamination in 35 samples of dried vine fruits imported in the European community potentially used for the development of new nutraceutical supplements. High pressure liquid chromatography analysis identified 18 samples as contaminated by OTA with an average level of 2.6 μg/kg. OTA was measured in 4 samples of currants (mean value of 6.6 μg/kg) and 13 samples of raisins (mean value of 1.4 μg/kg). In one sample of currants and one of raisins from Turkey OTA exceeded the limits set by European Commission of 10 μg/kg, being contaminated with 12.61 and 15.99 μg/kg, respectively. All the positive samples were confirmed by Orbitrap Q Exactive through their molecular weight and the corresponding fragmentation. The worldwide consumption of dried vine fruits contributed to OTA exposure in several group of consumers. In particular, considering the potential nutraceutical approach, this consumption may be represent a severe risk for healthy consumers that consider these products like healthy and salutistic for their contents in antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols. Data reported in this study confirmed the need to regularly monitor mycotoxin levels in these food products and optimize the process of fruits drying in order to reduce the development of toxigenic molds.
