Abstract— A scalable manufacturing process for fabricating active‐matrix backplanes on low‐cost flexible substrates, a key enabler for electronic‐paper displays, is presented. This process is based on solution processing, ink‐jet printing, and laser patterning. A multilayer architecture is employed to enable high aperture ratio and array performance. These backplanes were combined with E Ink electrophoretic media to create high‐performance displays that have high contrast, are bistable, and can be flexed repeatedly to a radius of curvature of 5 mm.  相似文献

The rapid development and take-up of personal communications services has been effected as much by marketing and regulatory changes as the introduction of second generation, digital technology. The traditional boundaries between fixed and mobile and between consumer and business services have been crossed. Increasingly, customers will be offered all their communication needs from a single supplier. This will lead to composite architectures formed from several networks. In the short term, dual-mode terminals will link networks based on cordless, cellular, satellite and fixed network technologies. As intelligent network techniques are used more fully, least-cost routing and consistent service features will be achieved. Third generation standards will extend the range of services, including those utilising higher speed data. These mobile systems will provide the primary access to the `Information Society'  相似文献

We present experimental observations of line‐narrowing of the photoluminescence in close‐packed thin films of CdSe nanocrystals with epitaxial ZnS shells, under excitation from a pulsed source of 100 ps duration, both at 77 K and at room temperature (RT). Atomic force microscopy (AFM) of these films reveals them to be optically flat to less than 1 % of the emission wavelength and we propose that waveguiding and amplified spontaneous emission is the principal mechanism for line‐narrowing. We observe that line‐narrowing is assisted by the use of films with a bimodal distribution of nanocrystal sizes, where the excited state population is concentrated on the larger nanocrystals due to energy transfer.  相似文献

Personal Communication Networks (PCNs) aim to establish a mass market for mobile communications and provide a competitive alternative to the wired PSTN. This paper explains how the DCS 1800 cellular network standard was developed to provide an appropriate technical basis for the implementation of PCN services. Particular attention was given to RF parameters, small cell radio networks, standardized network interfaces, and enhancement of coverage areas by infrastructure sharing between operators.  相似文献

Human ras-GTPase-activating protein (GAP120) SH3-domain-binding protein (G3BP) has recently been identified on the basis of its specific binding to the GAP120 SH3 binding domain. Here we report the identification of a mouse G3BP cDNA and the confirmation by three dimensional modelling of an RNA recognition motif (RRM) in the encoded protein. Mouse G3BP also contains an RGG domain, an acid-rich amino acid domain, and several SH3 domain-binding consensus sequences, indicating that mammalian G3BPs represent a new family of signal transduction proteins which connect tyrosine kinase-linked receptors to cellular RNA metabolism.  相似文献
