Upper Barremian – Lower Aptian inner platform “Urgonian” limestones in the Mont de Vaucluse region, SE France, consist of alternating metre-scale microporous and tight intervals. This paper focuses on the influence of structural deformation on the reservoir properties of the Urgonian limestone succession in a study area near the town of Rustrel. Petrographic, petrophysical and structural data were recovered from five fully-cored boreholes, from the walls of a 100 m long underground tunnel, and from a 50 m long transect at a nearby outcrop. The data allowed reservoir property variations in the Urgonian limestones to be studied from core to reservoir scale. Eleven Reservoir Rock Types (RRTs) were identified based on petrographic features (texture, grain size), reservoir properties (porosity, permeability), and the frequency of structural discontinuities such as fractures, faults and stylolites. Tight and microporous reservoir rock types were distinguished. Tight reservoir rock types were characterised by early cementation of intergranular pore spaces and by the presence of frequent structural discontinuities. By contrast microporous reservoir rock types contained preserved intragranular microporosity and matrix permeability, but had very few structural discontinuities. Observed vertical alternations of microporous and tight rock types are interpreted to have been controlled by the early diagenesis of the Urgonian carbonates. Deformation associated with regional-scale tectonic phases, including Albian – Cenomanian “Durancian” uplift (∼105 to 96 Ma) and Pyrenean compression (∼55 to 25 Ma), resulted in the modification of the initial petrophysical properties of the Urgonian limestones. An early diagenetic imprint conditioned both the intensity of structural deformations and the associated circulations of diagenetic and meteoric fluids. Evolution of the Reservoir Rock Types is therefore linked both to the depositional conditions and to subsequent phases of structural deformation. 相似文献

Over the past decades, the number of patients with dry eye disease (DED) has increased dramatically. The incidence of DED is higher in Asia than in Europe and North America, suggesting the involvement of cultural or racial factors in DED etiology. Although many definitions of DED have been used, discrepancies exist between the various definitions of dry eye disease (DED) used across the globe. This article presents a clinical consensus on the definition of DED, as formulated in four meetings with global DED experts. The proposed new definition is as follows: “Dry eye is a multifactorial disease characterized by a persistently unstable and/or deficient tear film (TF) causing discomfort and/or visual impairment, accompanied by variable degrees of ocular surface epitheliopathy, inflammation and neurosensory abnormalities.” The key criteria for the diagnosis of DED are unstable TF, inflammation, ocular discomfort and visual impairment. This definition also recommends the assessment of ocular surface epitheliopathy and neurosensory abnormalities in each patient with suspected DED. It is easily applicable in clinical practice and should help practitioners diagnose DED consistently. This consensus definition of DED should also help to guide research and clinical trials that, to date, have been hampered by the lack of an established surrogate endpoint. 相似文献

This letter characterizes, in terms of the bandwidth and limit cycle frequency of its constituent subsystems, the sequential switching shunt series regulator -S/sup 4/R, a high-efficiency, low-mass and volume power cell devised to power the next generation of regulated power buses in telecommunication spacecrafts. Transconductance power source modeling is used to obtain linear and nonlinear models. These are used to establish a design control strategy which involves the dynamic response in large load requirements or at the end of the satellite life. This paper considers the equalisation problem in Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (QPSK) modulated signals which have been distorted by the passage through a transmission channel. The channel is modelled as a Rician fading channel to simulate the behaviour of the transmission channel in the mobile satellite context. The equalisation is treated as the generalisation of the channel behaviour, and some algorithms with the structure of an artificial neural network using the Multilayer Perceptron, Volterra Series and Radial Basis Function are described. Results for the BER performance of typical transversal equalisers, with Square-Root Kalman adaptation algorithm, and algorithms with artificial neural network structure are also reported and evaluated. In this work the use of chemical materials (additives) in order to reduce the biomass ash sintering tendency is investigated. A total of seven additives (kaolin, limestone, lime, dolomite, calcined dolomite, ophite and alumina) and silica utilised as reference material were mixed in different proportions with the ash of five different biomasses, and then a laboratory sintering test was performed on the mixtures to determine the effect of the additives on the sintering. The biomasses studied in this work were: thistle biomass, brassica carinata biomass, barley straw, almond shell and orujillo (olive oil extraction residue). The sintering decrease among the additives was studied using X-ray diffraction.Kaolin, lime, calcined dolomite and ophite are proved to be suitable to reduce the biomass sintering in all the considered cases. Dolomite, limestone and, particularly, the tabular alumina, offer poorer results. The dilution of the biomass ash is considered the main process involved in the decrease of the sintering for most of the additives, with the exception of kaolin whose chemical reactions could be more important than the dilution effect. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Trials that do not allow rejection of the null hypothesis of no treatment effect may have had an inappropriate design. Trials are virtually never assessed for correlation between responses to different treatment modalities. METHODS: Using a hypothetical example and several published studies we examine the influence of correlation levels between treatment modalities on the sensitivity of testing. RESULTS: The level of correlation between responses to different treatment modalities is a major determinant of the sensitivity both of crossover and parallel group clinical trials. CONCLUSIONS: It is very relevant to assess a priori correlation levels between responses to the different treatment modalities of a trial. If a negative correlation is anticipated, a crossover design is likely to lack sensitivity. If a positive correlation is anticipated a parallel-group design seems less appropriate, because it would lack the extra sensitivity of accounting for the positive correlation. Both designs would seem suitable for approximately zero correlations (e.g. comparison vs baseline or vs placebo under the assumption that the number of placebo responders is negligible. 相似文献

The major morphological changes during polymer blending occur during the initial softening stage. This work explains the evolution of phase morphology of polymer blends from pellets to submicron particles in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder. The extruder was opened and blend samples were taken along its length. The major phase component was extracted by means of a selective solvent so that the dispersed phase morphology could be viewed directly by using scanning electron microscopy. The two systems studied were 80:20 polystyrene/amorphous polyamide and 80:20 polystyrene/polypropylene. In both systems, the initial morphology consisted of sheets of dispersed phase. Holes form in the sheets, and these holes grow as a result of interfacial tension forces until they coalesce with each other, forming thin ligaments. These fluid ligaments are unstable and break up via mixer shear forces. Very large changes in dispersed phase size are observed during the softening stage. The particle size changes less after the polymers are completely melted. The extruder results are compared to results from a batch mixer. The same dispersed phase sheeting mechanism is seen in the initial morphology in the batch mixer and the breakup of the dispersed phase domains parallels the breakup seen in the extruder. 相似文献

This paper describes a kinetic method to predict the z-average molecular mean square radius of gyration of tree-like polymers formed by irreversible reactions, assuming Gaussian chains. It is based on the population balance equations for the two-sided molecular distributions of pendant chains associated with every chemically distinguishable kind of bonds. An automated method for the solution of those equations is valid both before as well as after gelation for complex kinetic schemes. Examples of its use are presented with polycondensation systems leading to hyperbranched polymers, the anionic polymerization of mono- and divinyl monomers and a radical polymerization with terminal branching and transfer to polymer. 相似文献

A study was carried out with a trained panel for the purpose of determining if modifications produced in slaughtered chickens during the storage period, caused significant organoleptic differences, detectable by the consumer. The products examined corresponded to chickens slaughtered on three consecutive days, stored at 2 degrees C until their evaluation. Qualitative aspects in the raw product were investigated by a score test in which optimum quality is 13 points, as follows: for color (range 3), general appearance (range 5), and presence of defects (range 5). The values obtained were then analyzed through variance and Duncan multiple range test. Simultaneously, taste changes were estimated in fatty and meager meat by the triangular test. Homogeneity between judgements of panel members on both types of meat was statistically established (P = 0.05). The results obtained indicate that at the 0.1% level of significance, two products were identical; a third one proved to be different and of a significantly higher quality at the 5% level. The degree of difference, from slight to moderate, was due to flavor. 相似文献
