Although self-help/mutual-help groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous, are important factors in the recovery of many chemically dependent individuals, the large dropout rates from such groups and the awareness that many who drop out do not return to dependent behavior raises interesting questions about other paths to sustained abstinence and recovery. Current emphasis on treatment outcome studies provides a means for researching factors in both those who recover with and without the assistance of self-help/mutual-help groups. The authors suggest some questions which might be investigated. 相似文献

Parasitic beam tunnel oscillations have been discovered on some of the series production gyrotrons for W7-X and also on the coaxial pre-prototype gyrotron for ITER. Solutions to remedy these problems have resulted in a modified beam tunnel design, technologically close to the existing beam tunnel. The new design has successfully been tested on both the coaxial and also the f-step-tunable gyrotrons and has subsequently been implemented on one of the W7-X series-production-tubes presently undergoing factory acceptance tests in Karlsruhe.The ECRH test loads at KIT are operated under normal atmospheric conditions. Several loads have eventually failed in 1 MW long pulse experiments and KIT has therefore started to design its own loads. The first KIT-load is based on a fixed conical mirror and an aluminum cylinder coated with a lossy material for increased absorption. The new load has so far successfully been used during the acceptance tests of two 1-MW CW gyrotrons. Nevertheless a new load based on pure (uncoated) stainless steel absorbers is being developed as a backup solution for the ongoing high priority gyrotron testing.A superconducting magnet capable of rapid field changes between 4.15 and 5.67 T for frequency step-tunable gyrotrons has been procured, has demonstrated a (static) field of 7.2 T and its capability of rapid field-changes. 相似文献

The feasibility of constructing a dual-wavelength, spatially single-mode, superfluorescent fiber emitter on the basis of erbium
optical fibers with pumping by multimode semiconductor lasers is demonstrated. The emitter is fabricated by all-fiber technology
and has a power output in excess of 10 mW, an average emission wavelength of 1.54 μm, and a spectral resolution of 27.5 nm at component linewidths of 3 nm and 9 nm. The depolarization of the radiation from
the emitter as it propagates in an anisotropic, single-mode fiber waveguide is investigated.

The Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science (Siberian Department, Russian Academy of Sciences) has developed a process for electron-beam deposition of powdered composite materials on metallurgically-produced parts. A unique electron-beam deposition device, the LUNa-10, for reinforcement of blower nozzles used in blast-furnace casting and for reinforcement of crystallizers in continuous steel casting machines was developed and placed into service at the West Siberian Metallurgical Combine (Novokuznetsk). A new optical system is proposed and investigated experimentally for a Sagnac fiber interferometer in which the excess noise
of the wide-band radiation source is suppressed. A tenfold improvement in the sensitivity of a fiber-optic gyroscope with
an erbium/ytterbium fiber superfluorescent light source was achieved experimentally. It is shown that the identity of the
polarization characteristics of the interferometer channels plays an important role.

A study is made of the noise in the output intensity of a high-power superfluorescent fiber radiation source generating 20
mW in the 1.55 μm region of the spectrum. The source is constructed in an all-fiber technology from a quartz fiber activated with ytterbium
and erbium. It is found that the spectral density of the noise in the frequency range 100–500 kHz is uniform and corresponds
to the excess noise of “thermal” sources. It is shown that the noise in the output intensity of the source can be compensated
(decreased by an order of magnitude) in a two-channel scheme of photodetection, where it approaches a level close to the photon
shot noise.
