A two-wavelength wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) community antenna television (CATV) transport system that employed up-converted and polarization modulation techniques to reduce the composite second-order (CSO) distortion and optical nonlinearities is proposed and demonstrated. In contrast to a two-wavelength WDM CATV transport system using the intensity modulation technique, good performances of CSO and composite triple beat were obtained, accompanied by acceptable carrier-to-noise ratio value in our proposed system over a 100-km single-mode fiber transmission.  相似文献

A full duplex radio-on-fiber (ROF) transport system based on main and multiple side modes injection-locked distributed feedback laser diode (DFB LD) is proposed and experimentally investigated. DFB LD is successfully injection-locked not only in the main mode but also in other side modes. A data signal of 70 Mbps/10 GHz (WiMAX) signal is transmitted over long-haul single-mode fiber (SMF) transmission. Good bit error rate (BER) performances were achieved for both down-link and up-link transmissions in our proposed full-duplex ROF transport systems.  相似文献

A split-band directly modulated fiber-optical CATV transport system based on a lower-frequency sidemode injection-locked technique is proposed and demonstrated. The lower-frequency sidemode injection-locked technique largely increases the resonance frequency of slave laser, which leads to an improvement of system performance. Excellent performances of carrier-to-noise ratio, composite second-order, and composite triple beat were achieved for the full channel band over a 100-km single-mode-fiber transmission.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate an externally modulated national television system committee (NTSC) 77-channel erbium-doped fiber amplifier-repeated system employing an optical single sideband filter at the receiving site. In comparison with conventional externally modulated fiber-optical CATV systems, excellent performances of carrier-to-noise ratio /spl ges/50 dB, composite second order /spl ges/70 dB, and composite triple beat /spl ges/69 dB were achieved for the full channel band over a 100-km single-mode fiber transport. Our proposed system is suitable for the long-haul fiber-optical CATV system.  相似文献

A radio-on-hybrid wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) transport system employing mutually injection-locked Fabry–Perot laser diodes (F–P LDs) is proposed and demonstrated. System performances evaluated by carrier to noise ratio (CNR), composite second order (CSO), composite triple beat (CTB), bit error rate (BER), and third-order intermodulation distortion to carrier ratio (IMD3/C) for simultaneous transmission of CATV/LAN/ITS are improved. Our proposed systems are relatively simple and potentially low cost due to the use of mutually injection-locked F–P LDs as broadband light source (BLS).  相似文献

A bidirectional radio-over-dense-wavelength-division-multiplexing transport system using injection-locked and optoelectronic feedback controlled vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) is proposed and demonstrated. A full-duplex radio-over-fiber (ROF) transport system based on two modes injection-locked Fabry–Perot laser diode (FP LD) is proposed and demonstrated. Performances over a 40-km standard single-mode fiber (SMF) full-duplex transmission were investigated. Good performances of bit error rate (BER) and error vector magnitude (EVM) were obtained in our proposed systems. Since our proposed systems use only one FP LD as light source for both down-link and up-link transmissions, it reveals a prominent alternative with advantages in simplicity and cost.  相似文献
