In this study, nanocrystalline magnesium zinc ferrite nanoparticles were successfully prepared by a simple sol–gel method using copper nitrate and ferric nitrate as raw materials. The calcined samples were characterised by differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the average particle size of the calcined sample was in a range of 17–41 nm with an average of 29 nm and has spherical size. A cytotoxicity test was performed on human breast cancer cells (MDA MB‐231) and (MCF‐7) at various concentrations starting from (0 µg/ml) to (800 µg/ml). The sample possessed a mild toxic effect toward MDA MB‐231 and MCF‐7 after being examined with MTT (3‐[4, 5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl]‐2, 5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay for up to 72 h of incubation. Higher reduction of cells viability was observed as the concentration of sample was increased in MDA MB‐231 cell line than in MCF‐7. A series of polymethacrylates containing triazole ring linked chalcone were designed and synthesized. These conjugated chalcone polymers are modulate under the light depending on the pendant substituents (–N(CH3)2, CH3, OCH3, Br, H & NO2). The steady-state absorption and emission spectroscopic techniques have been used to investigate intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) behaviour of the polymers. Absorption spectra in different organic solvents demonstrate the presence of ICT in polymer 5a. On the other hand, its excited singlet state exhibits high ICT characters as manifested by polarity of solvents. Interestingly, ICT emission maximum is strongly red shifted (53 nm). The emission intensities of fluorophore are compared with those measured after crosslinking, suggesting that the statically quenched fluorophores are entirely non-emissive. The emission decay of polymer 5a displays bi-exponentially with life time of 0.52 and 1.62 ns ascribed to presence of locally excited ICT state. Cyclic voltammogram demonstrates irreversible oxidation potential at 0.9 V indicates formation mono-radical cation.  相似文献

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the commonly emitted gaseous by-products in industrial processes. While CO2 gas is the main cause to greenhouse effect, various CO2 capture technologies have been proposed and implemented to sequester the CO2 before the waste gases being released into the atmosphere. One of the mature technologies for CO2 absorption is by using amine-based solvents. In this regard, different single amine solvents or blended amine solvents have been proven for their capability to remove CO2. However, the dissolution and reaction of CO2 gas with the amine solvents turn the solution corrosive. Such phenomenon is undesired as it posts corrosion problem to the absorption column, which normally built of carbon steel material. Henceforth, understanding the behaviour of different amine-based solvents in absorbing CO2 and its subsequent impact on carbon steel corrosion is very significant. In this review article, we will outline some of the more commonly used solvents and their respective advantages and disadvantages, motivating further investigation into the corrosion tendency. Meanwhile, existing gaps in this research area are discussed for future investigation.  相似文献

The purpose of this systematic study was to provide an up to date and reliable quantitative summary of the relative benefits of various types of chemotherapy (non-platinum vs platinum, single-agent vs combination and carboplatin vs cisplatin) in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. Also, to investigate whether well-defined patient subgroups benefit more or less from cisplatin- or carboplatin-based therapy. Meta-analyses were based on updated individual patient data from all available randomized controlled trials (published and unpublished), including 37 trials, 5667 patients and 4664 deaths. The results suggest that platinum-based chemotherapy is better than non-platinum therapy, show a trend in favour of platinum combinations over single-agent platinum, and suggest that cisplatin and carboplatin are equally effective. There is no good evidence that cisplatin is more or less effective than carboplatin in any particular subgroup of patients.  相似文献

This study assessed whether relatives with low bone mineral density (BMD) could be identified in five large families using historical, biochemical, and genetic markers for osteoporosis. Fifty of 65 relatives had their bone density and bone turnover markers measured, together with an assessment of their risk factors for osteoporosis. Only 33% (5/15) of siblings, 50% (6/12) of children and 43% (10/23) of nephews and nieces had entirely normal BMD. There was no difference in life-style risk factors for osteoporosis, history of previous fractures or body mass index between normal subjects and those with osteopenia or osteoporosis. Osteopenic individuals had a significantly higher than normal osteocalcin value. Within families, there was no clear association between BMD and any of the genetic markers (vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms, COL 1A1 and COL 1A2 polymorphisms of the collagen gene), either alone or in combination. The addition of genetic markers to the other risk factors for low BMD did not improve the prediction of BMD. In conclusion, we suggest that the presence of osteoporosis in a first degree relative should be one of the clinical indications for bone density measurement as the individuals at risk would not be picked up by other methods.  相似文献

In simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM) the correspondence problem, specifically detecting cycles, is one of the most difficult challenges for an autonomous mobile robot. In this paper we show how significant cycles in a topological map can be identified with a companion absolute global metric map. A tight coupling of the basic unit of representation in the two maps is the key to the method. Each local space visited is represented, with its own frame of reference, as a node in the topological map. In the global absolute metric map these local space representations from the topological map are described within a single global frame of reference. The method exploits the overlap which occurs when duplicate representations are computed from different vantage points for the same local space. The representations need not be exactly aligned and can thus tolerate a limited amount of accumulated error. We show how false positive overlaps which are the result of a misaligned map, can be discounted.  相似文献

The oxidation kinetics of the Zr64Cu16Ni10Al10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) roughly follows a two-stage rate law at both 433 and 593 K in air. An oxide film of 940 nm can be formed by oxidation at 593 K, which is ZrO2-enriched but Cu-depleted on the outer surface. The oxide film leads to a superior passivity in 0.5 M NaCl and great corrosion resistance improvements in other solutions. The oxidation effect on mechanical properties were characterized by nanoindentation, wedge indentation and compression tests. The Zr-based BMG still keeps the amorphous nature and its good mechanical properties are retained after oxidation.  相似文献
