A detailed long range restriction map of the region defined by markers D6S149 and D6S193 on chromosome 6q27 has been constructed. This was achieved by YAC cloning and contig assembling of the same region. Seven YAC clones were found to span the almost 1000 Kb region flanked by the two markers which on the genetic map resulted to be 1.9 cM apart. With some of the characterized YAC clones we undertook a molecular cytogenetic analysis of 20 benign ovarian tumors. The rationale for this was the recent mapping to a region of chromosome 6q27, flanked by markers D6281 and D6S133, of a locus for the SV40-mediated immortalization of human cells (SEN6 gene). Noteworthy we found that the the D6S149-D6S193 region (comprised in the larger D6S281-D6S133 physical interval) was altered in all samples analysed adding support to the occurrence of a immortalization step in this type of tumors.  相似文献

Bulk and quantum well GaAs1?xBix/GaAs layers with Bi mole fractions from 0.02 to 0.10 are grown by molecular-beam epitaxy at temperatures ranging from 280 to 320?°C. The samples are characterized using temperature and pump-power dependent photoluminescence measurements covering 8–300?K and 1–250?mW (7–1,800?W/cm2), respectively. The results indicate that there is strong reduction in bandgap energy with the incorporation of small amounts of Bi and that GaAsBi most likely forms a weak type-I band alignment with GaAs.  相似文献

A surface of epoxy-impregnated hardened cement paste was investigated using a novel atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging mode that allows for the quantitative mapping of the local elastic modulus. The analyzed surface was previously prepared using focussed ion beam milling. The same surface was also characterized by electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.We demonstrate the capability of this quantitative nanomechanical mapping to provide information on the local distribution of the elastic modulus (from about 1 to about 100 GPa) with a spatial resolution in the range of decananometers, that corresponds to that of low-keV back-scattered electron imaging. Despite some surface roughness which affects the measured nanomechanical properties it is shown that topography, adhesion and Young's modulus can be clearly distinguished.The quantitative mapping of the local elastic modulus is able to discriminate between phases in the cement paste microstructure that cannot be distinguished from the corresponding back-scattered electron images.  相似文献

This article examines the usefulness of a thick thermally sprayed interlayer (plasma-sprayed Ni-50%Cr, plasma-sprayed Al2O3-13%TiO2, or high-velocity oxygen-fuel-sprayed WC-17%Co) for enhancing the wear resistance and the corrosion protectiveness of a diamond-like carbon (DLC)-based thin film deposited onto a carbon steel substrate. Scratch tests indicate that the Al2O3-13%TiO2 and WC-17%Co interlayers definitely increase the critical spallation load of the thin film, but the Al2O3-13%TiO2 interlayer itself undergoes brittle fracture under high-contact loads. Accordingly, during ball-on-disk tests at room temperature, no cracking and spallation occur in the DLC-based film deposited onto the WC-17%Co interlayer, whereas the one onto the Al2O3-13%TiO2 interlayer is rapidly removed because the interlayer itself is fractured. At 300 °C, by contrast, the DLC-based film on the Al2O3-13%TiO2 interlayer offers the best tribological performance, possibly thanks to the increased toughness of the ceramic interlayer at this temperature. Electrochemical polarization tests indicate that the thin film/WC-Co systems possess the lowest corrosion current density.  相似文献

Superlattices with one-dimensional (1D) phonon confinement were studied to obtain a low thermal conductivity for thermoelectrics. Since they are composed of materials with a lattice mismatch, they often show dislocations. Like 1D nanowires, they also decrease heat transport in only one main propagation direction. It is therefore challenging to design superlattices with a thermoelectric figure of merit ZT higher than unity. Epitaxial self-assembly is a major technology to fabricate three-dimensional (3D) Ge quantum-dot (QD) arrays in Si. They have been used for quantum and solar-energy devices. Using the atomic-scale phononic crystal model, 3D Ge QD supercrystals in Si also present an extreme reduction of the thermal conductivity to a value that can be under 0.04 W/m/K. Owing to incoherent phonon scattering, the same conclusion holds for 3D supercrystals with moderate QD disordering. As a result, they might be considered for the design of highly efficient complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS)-compatible thermoelectric devices with ZT possibly much higher than unity. Such a small thermal conductivity was only obtained for two-dimensional layered WSe2 crystals in an experimental study. However, electronic conduction in the Si/Ge compounds is significantly enhanced. The 0.04 W/m/K value can be computed for different Ge QD filling ratios of the Si/Ge supercrystal with size parameters in the range of current fabrication technologies.  相似文献

Functional and structural changes in 10 DSM-III-R male schizophrenics and 10 healthy volunteers were investigated using magnetoencephalographically (MEG) detected long-latency (N100 m) auditory evoked fields (AEFs) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The AEFs were characterized by single moving equivalent dipoles, which were superimposed on MRIs. There were significant differences in dipole orientations and in AEF latencies in the left hemisphere of schizophrenics, when compared to the controls. The MEG-detected alterations were found to be associated with a bilateral volume reduction of the posterior superior temporal gyrus (pSTG), which was more pronounced in the left hemisphere. Separate analysis of white and gray matter has shown that the pSTG volume reduction resulted from decreased gray matter volumes without white matter changes. Both the functional and the morphological data indicate a left-hemispheric disturbance in our patients.  相似文献

Most research with 31P-magnetic resonance spectroscopy (31P-MRS) in affective disorders has been done in the field of bipolar disturbances. Reduced frontal and temporal lobe phosphomonoester (PME) concentrations were measured in the euthymic state, whereas increased values were found in the depressed state. In bipolar-II patients reduced phosphocreatine (PCr) concentrations were reported in the euthymic, depressed, and manic state. The aim of the present study was to explore whether PME and PCr were also altered in the frontal lobe of major depressed, unipolar patients. Therefore, we used 31P-MRS to investigate the relative phospholipid and high-energy phosphate concentrations in the frontal lobe of 14 unipolar patients, mostly medicated, and 8 age-matched controls. We found increased PME and decreased ATP values. Other 31P-MRS parameters were not different in both groups. Phosphomonoester percentages correlated negatively with the degree of depression. Thus, the main alterations found in bipolar depressed patients could also be demonstrated in unipolar depressed patients. The results are discussed with regard to disturbed phospholipid and intracellular high-energy phosphate metabolism in depressed patients.  相似文献
