Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation is considered for phase-shift keying communication systems in time-varying fading channels. Both data-aided (DA) estimation and nondata-aided (NDA) estimation are addressed. The time-varying fading channel is modeled as a polynomial-in-time. Inherent estimation accuracy limitations are examined via the Cramer-Rao lower bound, where it is shown that the effect of the channel's time variation on SNR estimation is negligible. A novel maximum-likelihood (ML) SNR estimator is derived for the time-varying channel model. In DA scenarios, where the estimator has a simple closed-form solution, the exact performance is evaluated both with correct and incorrect (i.e., mismatched) polynomial order. In NDA estimation, the unknown data symbols are modeled as random, and the marginal likelihood is used. The expectation-maximization algorithm is proposed to iteratively maximize this likelihood function. Simulation results show that the resulting estimator offers statistical efficiency over a wider range of scenarios than previously published methods.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of designing linear precoders for fixed multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) receivers is considered. Two different design criteria are considered. In the first, the transmitted power is minimized subject to signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio (SINR) constraints. In the second, the worst case SINR is maximized subject to a power constraint. It is shown that both problems can be solved using standard conic optimization packages. In addition, conditions are developed for the optimal precoder for both of these problems, and two simple fixed-point iterations are proposed to find the solutions that satisfy these conditions. The relation to the well-known uplink-downlink duality in the context of joint transmit beamforming and power control is also explored. The proposed precoder design is general, and as a special case, it solves the transmit rank-one beamforming problem. Simulation results in a multiuser system show that the resulting precoders can significantly outperform existing linear precoders.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES AND METHODS: The aims of the present work were to assess the presence of thrombin generation in Crohn's disease and in ulcerative colitis by using the prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 and the thrombin-antithrombin III complex assays and to study the possible relationships between these markers and disease activity. RESULTS: Prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 and thrombin-antithrombin III complex were significantly raised in patients with Crohn's disease (n = 69) and with ulcerative colitis (n = 25) as compared with healthy controls (n = 50). In Crohn's disease these two markers of thrombin generation were correlated with the Van Hees index (P < 0.05 and P < 0.001, respectively); values were significantly different from controls even in the patient group displaying the lowest disease activity (P < 0.001). No correlation was found with tumour necrosis factor alpha and C-reactive protein; nevertheless patients with C-reactive protein less than or equal to 10 mg/l had significant lower values of prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 (P < 0.03). In ulcerative colitis prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 and thrombin-antithrombin III complex were significantly increased by comparison with controls, were higher in patients with pancolitis and correlated with C-reactive protein (P < 0.002 and P < 0.009, respectively). CONCLUSION: These data show that prothrombin fragment 1 + 2 and thrombin-antithrombin III complex are increased in inflammatory bowel diseases and suggest that thrombin generation might be an early event in their pathogenesis.  相似文献

The authors report on a profound increase in creatine kinase isoenzyme MB (CK-MB) activity in three patients following uneventful cryoablation of the prostate under general anaesthesia: Just after the arrival at the recovery room CK-MB levels were 321 U/l, 245 U/l and 433 U/l, respectively. Other clinical investigations as well as additional laboratory tests ruled out myocardial infarction in all three patients. Electrophoresis of the CK-isoenzymes revealed an increase in CK-BB activity and an increase in atypical CK-BB as a cause of these findings. The presence of these isoenzymes leading to interferences with the antibody commonly used in CK-MB assays could explain the determination of a false positive CK-MB elevation in the three patients. Moreover, it is shown that this method of CK-MB activity determination may result in CK-MB levels higher than 100% of the whole CK activity. In addition, it is discussed that in patients suffering from prostatic carcinoma or other malignoma, "non-CK-M elevations" may occur. Therefore, the authors conclude that after cryoablation of the prostate additional tests like troponin T test and 12 channel ECG are required to rule out suspected myocardial infarction.  相似文献

Using the transneuronal viral tracing method, the central nervous system (CNS) connections of the uterine horn were studied in virgin, pregnant, and in lactating rats. The frequency of viral labeling in the brain and the distribution of virus-infected neurons from the uterine horn were compared among groups. There was a marked difference in the frequency of viral labeling in the brain stem. In virgin rats more than half of the brain stems (5 out of 9) were labeled. In contrast, in pregnant animals viral-labeled neurons were detected in only a few cases (3 out of 16) and almost each brain stem of the lactating group was labeled (12 out of 13). A similar, less marked difference was observed in the hypothalamus. The pattern of distribution of infected neurons was similar in each group. In the brain stem, the nucleus of the solitary tract, dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus, area postrema, gigantocellular and paragigantocellular nucleus, ventrolateral medulla, A5 cell group, and caudal raphe nuclei were the most frequently labeled structures. In the diencephalon, viral-infected neurons were detected primarily in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus. The telencephalon was devoid of infected cells. Data suggest that the CNS control of the uterine horn varies depending on reproductive status. The low frequency of brain labeling in pregnant rats may be related to the almost complete lack of sympathetic fibers in the uterus prior to parturition and the very high frequency of labeling in lactating animals to the postpartum hyperinnervation of the uterus.  相似文献
