In this paper, we study the performance of time hopping pulse position modulation for impulse radio ultra‐wideband. We consider relay network applying decode‐and‐forward protocol. The channels between nodes adopt the IEEE 802.15.4a norms. The bit error rate performance is analyzed considering the effect of interference. Our results show significant improvement due to the diversity gain provided by the relay nodes. However, the performance is limited when multiple access interference (MAI) is present. To combat the MAI effect and further improve the detection reliability, we propose to use antenna selection at the relay. The relay receiver is assumed to be equipped with multiple antennas, and only the best antenna is selected. This is shown to improve the performance in the presence of MAI and improve the diversity gain.Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Little information is available on Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nTiO2) behavior in different culture media for aquatic organisms. This study aimed to accurately evaluate nTiO2 dispersion and sedimentation in common freshwater algae (BG-11) and daphnia aquatic (SM7) culture media. We additionally investigated potential mechanisms of nTiO2 stability under arsenate influence. Results showed that high ionic strength in culture media was probably a key reason for the acute nTiO2 agglomeration found. Additionally, the hydrodynamic size of nTiO2 suspension in the presence of arsenate was significantly larger, increasing with arsenate concentration in ultrapure water. Conversely, the hydrodynamic size in BG-11 and SM7 decreased with arsenate concentration. The nTiO2 sedimentation rate increased significantly with arsenate concentration in ultrapure water but significantly decreased in BG-11 and SM7 culture media. Many nTiO2 remained suspended after initial rapid sedimentation and the slight sedimentation that occurred in the subsequent 24 h, suggesting that algae and daphnia within the water column will be exposed to small nanoparticle aggregates for a long period of time. Such nTiO2 behavior, especially in the presence of arsenate, requires more consideration than the different toxicological results reported in literature. 相似文献

Today, online network services have evolved as the highest‐emergent medium, enabling various online activities to be lucrative. However, these lucrative activities also bring new forms of privacy threats to the community. In a reliable e‐business service, users should be able to trust the providers of the service to protect their customers' privacy. The service providers should not risk the personal and private information about their customers in cyberspace. There is an economic gain for a business provider when users trust the service provider. Despite those benefits, cyber security concern is the main reason some large organization may go bankrupted. Unfortunately, attackers may attempt to breach a provider's database and expose customers' private information. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a game theoretic framework for security and trust relationship in cyberspace for users, service providers, and attackers. Mathematical proofs and evaluations support our model. Service providers may use the model to see how important and dissuasive against attackers is when investing in cybersecurity.
