Objective: To replicate and extend P. A. Lichtenberg and colleagues' (1996) cross-disciplinary intervention to improve physical and mental health among older adults. Participants: 14 depressed older adults (6 treatment, 8 control). Setting: The short-term rehabilitation unit of an urban nursing home. Intervention: Occupational therapists were trained to treat depression using pleasant events and cognitive-behavioral therapies. Outcome Measures: Geriatric Depression Scale, the Short Form-12, and the Multi-Level Assessment Instrument: Activities of Daily Living. Results: No significant group differences were found in physical or mental health. However, more control group members (75%) than treatment group members (33%) were depressed at study completion. By operating one channel of a typical SOI MOSFET in avalanche while keeping the opposite channel accumulated, charge injection into the opposite gate takes place. We studied the magnetic properties of nanosized Ba2Mg2Fe12O22 powder obtained by citrate auto-combustion synthesis. The powder consists of agglomerates with mean crystallite size of 100?nm. The magnetic properties of the powder were investigated at 4.2?K and at room temperature. The values measured of the magnetization M at a magnetic field of 60?kOe are 22.78?emu/g and 30.47?emu/g at room temperature and 4.2?K, respectively. The magnetic phase transition at 183 K is related to the ferromagnetic-to-spiral spin order and is a precondition for this material??s exhibiting multiferroic properties. 相似文献

This article presents a mathematical method by which the future trajectory of patient spontaneous minute volume (SMV) may be predicted in the postoperative weaning period. The method outlined enables critical-care staff to predict the SMV trajectory up to 30 minutes into the future. An extensive study of the recently observed opposite-channel-based injection (OCBI) of hot-carriers in SOI MOSFET's is carried out by PISCES numerical calculations. The study reveals similar patterns of injection for partially-depleted (PD) and fully-depleted (FD) devices, although there are significant quantitative differences. Important differences also exist when stressing the device with the body floating versus body grounded. The results demonstrate that when stressing one channel, carriers can and are injected into the opposite gate. The results also demonstrate that under appropriate bias conditions pure electron/hole injection takes place, and establish these conditions. The practical significance of this ability to inject only electrons or only holes in any desired sequence is illustrated by exploiting it to investigate the time-power law of interface state generation and to design a SOI EEPROM cell with a back channel based erasing scheme 相似文献

A novel technique based on the impact of a piston on a liquid confined in a vessel is described. Pressure measurements reveal that strong pressure variations (up to 100 atmospheres) with a rich content of frequencies are efficiently transmitted to the liquid. High‐speed camera visualizations show that pre‐existing millimetric bubbles always collapse during the first instants of the impact whereas the behavior of submillimetric bubbles depends on the features of the pressure evolution in the system. In addition to the impact velocity, the amount of gas/vapor trapped between the piston and the liquid's surface plays an important role on how pressure evolves. Only when negative pressure occurs tiny bubbles grow significantly and collapse. The violent collapse of bubbles promote turbulence and mixing at very small length‐scales which renders this technique interesting to intensify processes limited by heat and mass diffusion. © 2017 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 63: 2483–2495, 2017 相似文献

An improvement of NbTi alloy functional properties by equal-channel multi-angle pressing (ECMAP) combined with hydrostatic
extrusion, drawing and thermal treatment is revealed. The ECMAP method allows to increase the billet accumulated deformation
with preserving its initial dimensions. The formed highly dispersed and homogeneous nanocrystalline structure with a more
uniform distribution of α-phase precipitations as a result of ECMAP treatment improves the functional properties of the alloy. In the field of 5 T,
the critical current density in wire samples produced with application of the ECMAP method is enhanced approximately by a
