Self-tuning of a digitally programmable active-R square wave generator is investigated. A single-chip-mode microprocessor is used as a microcontroller. Novel flexible dielectric composites composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and graphene oxide (GO) with high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss have been developed using facile and eco-friendly colloidal processing technique. The structure and morphology of the PVA/PEG/GO composites were evaluated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy (UV-vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The dielectric behavior of PVA/PEG/GO composites was investigated in the wide range of frequencies from 50 Hz to 20 MHz and temperature in the range 40 to 150 °C using impedance spectroscopy. The dielectric constant for PVA and PVA/PEG (50/50) blend film was found to be 10.71 (50 Hz, 150 °C) and 31.22 (50 Hz, 150 °C), respectively. The dielectric constant for PVA/PEG/GO composite with 3 wt% GO was found to be 644.39 (50 Hz, 150 °C) which is 60 times greater than the dielectric constant of PVA and 20 times greater than the dielectric constant of PVA/PEG (50/50) blend film. The PVA/PEG/GO composites not only show high dielectric constant but also show low dielectric loss which is highly attractive for practical applications. These findings underline the possibilities of using PVA/PEG/GO composites as a flexible dielectric material for high-performance energy storage applications such as embedded capacitors.  相似文献

Sulfur removal from residual fuel oil has received increasing attention in recent years mainly for the preparation of clean feedstocks for downstream conversion units and to meet the new specifications for petroleum products. This review presents discussion of non-conventional methods of fuel oil desulfurization other than hydrodesulfurization (HDS). Several functions have been attributed to protein binding within the 3'untranslated region (3'UTR) of mRNA, including mRNA localization, stability, and translational repression. Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein whose 3'untranslated sequence is highly conserved between species. In order to identify sequences that might play a role in vimentin mRNA function, we synthesized32P-labeled RNA from different regions of vimentin's 3'UTR and assayed for protein binding with HeLa extracts using band shift assays. Sequences required for binding are contained within a region 61-114 nucleotides downstream of the stop codon, a region which is highly conserved from Xenopus to man. As judged by competition assays, binding is specific. Solution probing studies of 32P-labeled RNA with various nucleases and lead support a complex stem and loop structure for this region. Finally, UV cross-linking of the RNA-protein complex identifies an RNA binding protein of 46 kDa. Fractionation of a HeLa extract on a sizing column suggests that in addition to the 46 kDa protein, larger complexes containing additional protein(s) can be identified. Vimentin mRNA has been shown to be localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm, possibly at sites of intermediate filament assembly. To date, all sequences required for localization of various mRNAs have been confined to the 3'UTR. Therefore, we hypothesize that this region and associated protein(s) might be important for vimentin mRNA function such as in localization.  相似文献

This study focuses on heat transfer enhancement in double pipe energy storage system. Enhancement is achieved by use of metal screens/spheres placed inside the phase change material (PCM), which is paraffin wax and results in increasing the effective thermal conductivity of the combined media of PCM and metal screens/spheres. The experiments are conducted as a function of the diameter and number of spheres inserted in the phase change material. Also, the experiments investigate the effect of increasing the temperature of the heat transfer fluid (HTF). Results are presented in terms of variations in the PCM Nusselt number and the melting Fourier number. Results indicate three-fold decrease in the Fourier number and similar increase in the Nusselt number. Replacing 2-volume percentage of the wax material by the metal spheres results in this large enhancement.  相似文献

A personal computer compatible optical data acquisition unit is described. The unit hardware architecture consists of optical analog sensors, optical digital sensors, and standard digital-to-analog converters. It can be accessed and programmed using a variety of programming languages. This paper considers a system consisting of two units. The system experiences shocks after certain random intervals. These random intervals are independently and identically distributed each with a general probability density function. Further, the shocks are classified into three types according to the effect of the shocks on the system: Type I, the shock that has no effects on the system, Type II, the shock increases the failure rate and Type III, the shock that fails the system. The system can fail either due to a shock of Type III or due to the internal stress and strain of the operation of the unit or due to two successive shocks, the first shock being of Type II. The repair times of the units are assumed to be exponentially distributed. The mean time to system failure (MTSF), steady state availability of the system and expected number of times the repairman is required are investigated. Finally, MTSF-shock rate and steady state availability-shock rate figures are drawn for special cases and certain interesting results are observed therefrom.  相似文献

The recent surge in graphene research has stimulated interest in the investigation of various two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, including 2D boron nitride (BN) nanostructures. Among these, hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (h-BNNs; also known as white graphene, as their structure is similar to that of graphene) have emerged as potential nanofillers for preparing thermally conductive composites. In this work, hexagonal boron nitride nanoparticles (h-BNNPs) approximately 70 nm in size were incorporated into a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) matrix with different loadings (0–25 wt.%). The PVDF/h-BNNP nanocomposites were prepared by a solution blending technique and characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), polarized optical microscopy (POM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the thermal conductivity and dielectric properties of the nanocomposites were investigated. The incorporation of h-BNNPs in the PVDF matrix resulted in enhanced thermal conductivity. The highest value, obtained at 25 wt.% h-BNNP loading, was 2.33 W/mK, which was five times that of the neat PVDF (0.41 W/mK). The thermal enhancement factor (TEF) at 5 wt.% h-BNNP loading was 78%, increasing to 468% at 25 wt.% h-BNNP loading. The maximum dielectric constant of approximately 36.37 (50Hz, 150 °C) was obtained at 25 wt.% h-BNNP loading, which was three times that of neat PVDF (11.94) at the same frequency and temperature. The aforementioned results suggest that these multifunctional and high-performance nanocomposites hold great promise for application in electronic encapsulation.  相似文献

As the Internet of things (IoT) technology is evolving, distributed solar energy resources can be operated, monitored, and controlled remotely. The design of an IoT based solar energy system for smart irrigation is essential for regions around the world, which face water scarcity and power shortage. Thus, such a system is designed in this paper. The proposed system utilizes a single board system-on-a-chip controller (the controller hereafter), which has built-in WiFi connectivity, and connections to a solar cell to provide the required operating power. The controller reads the field soil moisture, humidity, and temperature sensors, and outputs appropriate actuation command signals to operate irrigation pumps. The controller also monitors the underground water level, which is essential to prevent the pump motors from burning due to the level in the water well. The proposed system has three modes of operations, i.e. the local control mode, mobile monitoring-control mode, and fuzzy logic-based control mode. For the purpose of the proposed system validation, a prototype was designed, built, and tested.  相似文献

This paper presents a web-based system to predict the electricity prices. The proposed system captures the geographical location, weather forecast, and oil price for one week ahead. The captured parameters are fed to a fuzzy-logic-based algorithm to calculate electric energy prices. Based on predicted electricity prices, consumers can turn ON/OFF or reschedule operations of their home appliances to reduce their electricity bill. The proposed algorithm was developed and hosted in a utility server (U-server). On the consumer side, a home gateway (H-gateway), and a monitoring and control system was designed, built, and tested by using a single chip microcontroller.  相似文献
