This paper deals with a new application of the time-domain windowed (smoothed version) of the pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution (PWD), that can be easily implemented in a dedicate digital instrument to be used as a spectral analyzer for time-frequency analysis of nonstationary signals. New computational algorithms are studied and developed to attain high time-frequency resolution, accuracy, flexibility and computational efficiency. Particularly, to reduce the negative effects due to leakage during frequency changes, a new interpolation formula is derived by using the windowing theory. The suggested technique allows the users to perform optimal evaluations of the instantaneous amplitudes and frequencies of analyzed signals  相似文献

The Remote Didactic Laboratory Laboratorio Didattico Remoto - LA.DI.RE. ldquoG. Savastanordquo is the e-learning measurement laboratory supported by the Italian Ministry of Education and University. It involves about 20 Italian universities and provides students of electric and electronic measurement courses with access to remote measurement laboratories delivering different didactic activities related to measurement experiments. In order to demonstrate the versatility for didactic use, the overview of some experiments is given. The didactic experiments summarized in this paper concern measurement characterization of instruments and communication systems, measurement devices for remote laboratories, basic electrical measurements, magnetic measurements, electromagnetic-interference measurements, and signal processing for measurement applications.  相似文献

A new method is proposed for the analysis of waveforms in a three-phase system when both distortion and unbalance are present. The method makes it possible to obtain the positive and negative-sequence components of each harmonic system present in the three phases. This method provides a way to get information both on the degree of unbalance and on the distortion factors of the waveforms generated by pulsewidth-modulated inverters supplying induction motors  相似文献

New cosine windows, the coefficients of which have been computed through a simple optimization procedure, are proposed to minimize the sidelobe ripples. This allows maximally flat low-pass finite-duration impulse-response (FIR) filter realizations in a multistage-decimation process. In digital measuring devices this strategy is performed in order to limit the amount of data to the storage capabilities of the processor, in conjunction with filtering the data set available after oversampling to remove digitally the noise power produced by quantization. The consequent increase of the number of effective bits improves the dynamic performance of digital instrumentation, especially at lower frequencies  相似文献

We recently reported the discovery of phenylacetate decarboxylase (PhdB), representing one of only ten glycyl-radical-enzyme reaction types known, and a promising biotechnological tool for first-time biochemical synthesis of toluene from renewable resources. Here, we used experimental and computational data to evaluate the plausibility of three candidate PhdB mechanisms, involving either attack at the phenylacetate methylene carbon or carboxyl group [via H-atom abstraction from COOH or single-electron oxidation of COO (Kolbe-type decarboxylation)]. In vitro experimental data included assays with F-labeled phenylacetate, kinetic studies, and tests with site-directed PhdB mutants; computational data involved estimation of reaction energetics using density functional theory (DFT). The DFT results indicated that all three mechanisms are thermodynamically challenging (beyond the range of many known enzymes in terms of endergonicity or activation energy barrier), reflecting the formidable demands on PhdB for catalysis of this reaction. Evidence that PhdB was able to bind α,α-difluorophenylacetate but was unable to catalyze its decarboxylation supported the enzyme's abstraction of a methylene H atom. Diminished activity of H327A and Y691F mutants was consistent with proposed proton donor roles for His327 and Tyr691. Collectively, these and other data most strongly support PhdB attack at the methylene carbon.  相似文献

Data on management practices used with automated milk feeders (AMF) are needed to identify factors associated with calf health in these systems. The objectives of this observational, longitudinal, cross-sectional study were to estimate the prevalence of calf diarrhea (CD) and bovine respiratory disease (BRD), and to identify factors associated with prevalence of these diseases at the pen level on dairy farms feeding milk to group-housed calves with AMF. Seventeen dairy farms with AMF in Ontario, Canada, were visited 4 times, seasonally, over 1 yr. The clinical health of all calves (n = 1,488) in pens (n = 35) with AMF was scored to identify the number of calves with CD and BRD. Data on calf, feeder, and pen management practices were analyzed using generalized linear mixed regression models for each disease. Overall calf-level prevalence of CD and BRD were 23 and 17%, respectively. Median (interquartile range, IQR) within-pen prevalence of CD and BRD were 17% (7 to 37%) and 11% (0 to 28%), respectively. Median age (IQR) for diarrheic calves was 25 d (16 to 42 d), and for calves with BRD was 43 d (29 to 60 d). Factors associated with lower within-pen prevalence of CD were the administration of vitamin E and selenium at birth [odds ratio (OR) = 0.56; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.32 to 0.99], feeding of probiotics (OR = 0.44, 95% CI: 0.22 to 0.93), and adding fresh bedding every 2 to 3 d (OR = 0.43; 95% CI: 0.24 to 0.76) compared with every 7 or more days. In contrast, sharing air with older cattle (>9 mo old) was associated with increased within-pen prevalence of CD (OR = 4.54, 95% CI: 1.88 to 10.52). Additionally, total bacteria counts ≥100,000 cfu/mL in milk samples taken from the AMF mixing jar were associated with increased within-pen prevalence of CD during the summer visit (OR = 3.34; 95% CI: 1.31 to 8.54). Increased total solids in milk or milk replacer (OR = 0.48, 95% CI: 0.27 to 0.85) and feeding whole milk versus milk replacer (OR = 0.29, 95% CI: 0.11 to 0.75) were associated with lower within-pen prevalence of BRD. Factors associated with greater within-pen prevalence of BRD were sharing air with weaned cattle up to 8 mo old (OR = 3.21, 95% CI: 1.26 to 8.16), and greater depth of the wet bedding pack. The use of maternity pens for reasons other than just calving was associated with increased prevalence of both CD and BRD (OR = 1.85, 95% CI: 1.03 to 3.33; OR = 2.61, 95% CI: 1.21 to 5.58, respectively). These results suggest that isolation from older animals and frequent cleaning of the feeder and pen may help to reduce disease prevalence in group-housed calves fed with an AMF.  相似文献

The paper presents a novel denoising method for ultrasound medical images, whose quality is degraded by the peculiar phenomenon of speckle noise. The method is constructed step-by-step on the basis of recent research on the topic, and consists in Gaussian filtering of proper wavelet coefficients of the image, corresponding to vertical and diagonal details. A comparison with other filtering techniques for ultrasound imaging, i.e. Wiener and median filter, is presented. The obtained results, combined with those reported in independent research, demonstrate that the proposed denoising scheme has very good performance and is very promising for actual medical application.  相似文献

We screened the aldolase B gene in 14 unrelated Italian patients with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), and found two novel disease related mutations: a single nucleotide deletion in exon 2 (delta A20) that leads to an early stop codon, and a C-->T transition in exon 8 that substitutes an Arg with a Trp residue at codon 303 (R303W).  相似文献
