A new generation of standards for evolvent tooth gear geometry

An analysis is presented of measurements involved in producing evolvent spur gears (ESG). An appropriate organizational, technical, and standardization basis exists for setting up a new generation of standards for measuring the geometrical parameters of ESG, which can provide for reproducing and transmitting a unit of length in the area of evolvent surfaces for use with means of measuring various parameters characterizing the kinematic accuracy, smoothness of operation, surface contacts, and lateral clearance. Reliability of Measurements of the Natural Gas Flow Rate and Volume in Gas Distribution Organizations

The proposed new approach to the procedure for measuring the flow rate and volume of gas under standard conditions in gas distribution organizations increases the reliability of the measurements. It is based on identical transformations of the Clapeyron-Mendeveleev equation, with modifications, and takes into account the composition of the natural gas and the recommendations of Federal Law No. 69-FZ (article 19) of March 31, 1999, about natural gas certification by Gosstandart of the Russian Federation. Use of the modified Clapeyron–Mendeleev equation is shown to changes the form of the transformation functions of various primary measuring transducers (turbine, rotary, vortex, ultrasonic, etc.) under the conditions of actual measurements.     

Ontogenesis,estimation of coenopopulation state and component composition in Nepeta densiflora Kar. et Kir. (Lamiaceae) individuals of East Kazakhstan

The paper presents the results of the complex study of main biological and chemical characteristics in the endemic species Nepeta densiflora which occupies the boundary position in the distribution of Spicatae (Benth.) Pojark.section of Nepeta genus. It has been established that the ontogenesis is complete and the individuals successively pass the morphogenesis stages: primary shoot → primary bush → clump → branching particle. Assessment of coenopopulation states has identified the studied population as normal and stable. Coenopopulation stability is determined by its seed regeneration and complex ontogenesis. Species existence under the studied ecological and coenotic conditions can be successful, provided that there is no phytocoenotic environment composed of turfed lady’s mantle community. In N. densiflora, the main components of the essential oil were found to be cis-trans-Nepetalactone (up to 70%), cis-β-Ocimene (4.8%), Germacrene D (3.1%) and β-Cyclocitral (2.4%).     

Analysis of the errors of automated coordinate methods for measuring step parameters of machined surfaces

Computer coordinate methods of measurement are now becoming the main methods for the metrology of surface quality. Nevertheless they lead to certain additional specific errors which are manifested to the greatest degree in the measurement of step parameters and the parameters of extremum values of surface coordinates. An estimate is given below of the errors of computer coordinate methods of measuring step parameters of the roughness profile of machined surfaces and practical recommendations are given concerning the choice of measurement regimes.
