The extensive use of composites in aerospace, chemical, marine, and structural applications leads to exposure to humidity and water immersion. Hence, there is a need to study the effect of moisture absorption on the mechanical properties of composite materials, especially the matrix dominated properties, such as the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS). The horizontal shear test with a short‐beam specimen in three‐point‐bending is used as a general method of evaluation for the shear properties in fiber‐reinforced composites because of its simplicity. In this work, the ILSS of cross‐ply glass‐epoxy resin composites is determined in seven different fiber directions with short‐beam three‐point‐bending tests, before and after moisture conditioning. It is found that moisture absorption reduces ILSS and stiffness of the examined composites whereas it leads to larger failure deflections. It is also found that the direction of fibers strongly affects the load–deflection response and the ILSS of the dry and conditioned specimens. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Ambient Intelligence environments host various agents that collect, process, change and share the available context information.
The imperfect nature of context, the open and dynamic nature of such environments and the special characteristics of ambient
agents have introduced new research challenges in the study of Distributed Artificial Intelligence. This paper proposes a
solution based on the Multi-Context Systems paradigm, according to which local knowledge of ambient agents is encoded in rule
theories (contexts), and information flow between agents is achieved through mapping rules that associate concepts used by different contexts.
To resolve potential inconsistencies that may arise from the interaction of contexts through their mappings (global conflicts), we use a preference ordering on the system contexts, which may express the confidence that an agent has in the knowledge
imported by other agents. On top of this model, we have developed four alternative strategies for global conflicts resolution, which mainly differ in the type and extent of context and preference information that is used to resolve potential
conflicts. The four strategies have been respectively implemented in four versions of a distributed algorithm for query evaluation
and evaluated in a simulated P2P system. 相似文献

This article deals with the strain energy calculation of thin circular clamped Glass Reinforced (GLARE) fiber-metal laminates subjected to static indentation by a lateral hemispherical indentor. Using one-, two- and three-parameter Ritz approximations, analytical equations of the strain energy as a function of the central plate deflection are derived. Previously published analytical formulas, concerning the load-indentation response of circular GLARE plates, are used in order to determine the Ritz parameters and the first failure load and deflection due to tensile fracture of glass-epoxy layers. In this study, the membrane and bending strain energy components of aluminum and prepreg layers are determined. Also, the elastic and plastic strain energy absorbed during the indentation loading are calculated. The derived formulas are applied successfully for GLARE 2-2/1-0.3, GLARE 3-3/2-0.4 and GLARE 31 (special lay-up) circular plates subjected to lateral indentation. The strain energy results converge satisfactorily in all examined cases. The predicted strain energy-indentation response is compared with published experimental data and a good agreement is found. No other solution of this problem is known to the authors. 相似文献

DR-Prolog: A System for Defeasible Reasoning with Rules and Ontologies on the Semantic Web 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1

Nonmonotonic rule systems are expected to play an important role in the layered development of the semantic Web. Defeasible reasoning is a direction in nonmonotonic reasoning that is based on the use of rules that may be defeated by other rules. It is a simple, but often more efficient approach than other nonmonotonic rule systems for reasoning with incomplete and inconsistent information. This paper reports on the implementation of a system for defeasible reasoning on the Web. The system 1) is syntactically compatible with RuleML, 2) features strict and defeasible rules, priorities, and two kinds of negation, 3) is based on a translation to logic programming with declarative semantics, 4) is flexible and adaptable to different intuitions within defeasible reasoning, and 5) can reason with rules, RDF, RDF Schema, and (parts of) OWL ontologies 相似文献
