Field Studies of the Kinematic Structure of River Flows with Different Water Volumes

Characterization of the Pt-C bond of CO adsorbed by small Pt particles in a NaX zeolite by IR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

The unusual properties of small (1–2 nm) Pt particles within a zeolite support are documented by diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy of the metal-carbon bond of linearly adsorbed CO. The wave number of the metal-carbon stretching frequency is found to be about 60 cm^–1 higher compared to larger particles (2–3 nm) or to the bulk metal. The stronger bond is attributed to a negative charge on the small metal particles.     

Structure and functional properties of thermally and thermomechanically treated Ti-Ni-Nb based alloys with a wide martensitic hysteresis: II. Ti-Ni-Nb alloys with zirconium

The effect of zirconium on the structure, characteristics of thermoelastic martensitic transformation, and functional properties of Ti-Ni-Nb shape-memory alloys has been studied. The possibility of using this material for the manufacture of thermomechanical couplings intended for the design of extra reliable thermomechanical joints operating under extreme temperature conditions is considered.     

Indometofen causes biochemical changes in the blood cells characteristic for a radioresistant state of the body

The DNA and RNA contents, RNA/DNA ratio, and spontaneous and latex-induced oxidant activity indices of the whole blood were studied in the nitroblue tetrazolium test of mono- and polymorphonuclear blood leucocytes of intact dogs after injection of lipopolysaccharide pyrogenal. Significant changes in the above parameters were revealed for radioresistant (survived) and radiosensitive (lost) animals exposed to a subsequent prolonged gamma irradiation with a lethal dose of 7.64 Gy (LD75/45). Peroral introduction of 30 mg/kg indometofen (an indole analog of tamoxifen), which is a potential radioprotector, to dogs increased the survival rates of the irradiated dogs up to 93% and aided in the adaptive biochemical changes in the nuclear cell compartment of blood to induce a radioresistant status of the organism.

Structure and functional properties of heat-and thermomechanically treated Ti-Ni-Nb-based alloys with a wide martensitic hysteresis. I. Ti-Ni-Nb ternary alloys

The effect of heat-and thermomechanical treatments on the structure, characteristics of martensitic transformation, and functional properties of ternary Ti-Ni-Nb alloys has been investigated. The parameters of martensitic transformations whose realization makes it possible to recommend the alloys as promising materials for technologically high-efficient thermomechanical joints have been determined. The temperature-deformation conditions have been revealed under which optimum characteristics of shape recovery and force characteristics are realized in the alloys.
