Interaction between uranium oxide alloyed with Al2O3·SiO2 and pyrocarbon coating during irradiation of micro fuel elements

Polymerization characteristics of a dye of anthraquinone

A technical dye of the anthraquinone type was analyzed by GPC, mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. Along with the polymerizable component, N-[4-amino-3-methoxyanthraquinonyl-(1)] methacrylamide (I), it contained a saturated admixture, N-[4-amino-3-methoxyanthraquinonyl-(1)]-2-chloro-2-methylpropionamide (II). The homopolymerization of I was carried out, and admixture II was isolated and characterized. The copolymerization of the dye with styrene and methyl methacrylate was verified, and the retardation effect of II on the polymerization of these monomers was evaluated.     

The traceability of temperature measurements in aerological radiosonde observations

During the last 15 years new concepts and ideas, developed by the international community to be introduced into the standards of high-quality systems, have been incorporated into national metrological practice. This has naturally also had an effect on the fundamental ideas of applied metrology in such a conservative field as meteorological measurements of the state of the atmosphere. Methods of harmonizing the ideas of “uniformity” and “traceability” are illustrated using the example of measurements of the temperature of the atmosphere.     

Phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties of rare earth-bismuth systems

A survey is given of rare earth-bismuth phase diagrams and of crystallographic and thermodynamic properties of the intermetallic compounds occuring in the various rare earth-bismuth systems. Observed trends and regularities are briefly discussed. A more detailed investigation is presented for the Tm---Bi phase diagram.
