Platinum catalyst supported on a medium surface area -SiC was successfully used for the catalytic combustion of model carbon particles and compared to a catalyst supported on a low surface area -SiC. The -SiC-based catalyst showed no deactivation as a function of cycling tests while a strong deactivation was observed on the -SiC-based catalyst. This deactivation was attributed to the progressive encapsulation of the platinum particles by a layer of silica which built up during the combustion cycle. These results render possible the use of Pt/-SiC catalyst as a diesel carbon particle catalytic filter with continuous regeneration.  相似文献

Surface effects in atomically flat colloidal CdSe nanoplatelets (NLPs) are significantly and increasingly important with their thickness being reduced to subnanometer level, generating strong surface related deep trap photoluminescence emission alongside the bandedge emission. Herein, colloidal synthesis of highly luminescent two‐monolayer (2ML) CdSe NPLs and a systematic investigation of carrier dynamics in these NPLs exhibiting broad photoluminescence emission covering the visible region with quantum yields reaching 90% in solution and 85% in a polymer matrix is shown. The astonishingly efficient Stokes‐shifted broadband photoluminescence (PL) emission with a lifetime of ≈100 ns and the extremely short PL lifetime of around 0.16 ns at the bandedge signify the participation of radiative midgap surface centers in the recombination process associated with the underpassivated Se sites. Also, a proof‐of‐concept hybrid LED employing 2ML CdSe NPLs is developed as color converters, which exhibits luminous efficacy reaching 300 lm Wopt?1. The intrinsic absorption of the 2ML CdSe NPLs (≈2.15 × 106 cm?1) reported in this study is significantly larger than that of CdSe quantum dots (≈2.8 × 105 cm?1) at their first exciton signifying the presence of giant oscillator strength and hence making them favorable candidates for next‐generation light‐emitting and light‐harvesting applications.  相似文献

We report the effect of temperature on the extent of graphene oxide reduction by hydrazine and the dispersibility of the resulting chemically converted graphene (CCG) in polar organic solvents. The extent of graphene oxide reduction at high temperatures was only slightly higher than at low temperatures (30–50 °C), while the dispersibility of the resulting CCG in organic solvents decreased markedly with increasing temperature. The low dispersibility of CCGs prepared at high temperatures was greatly affected by reduction and influenced by the formation of an irreversible agglomerate of CCG at high temperatures. The reduction of graphene oxide at low temperatures is necessary to prepare highly dispersible CCG in organic solvents. CCG prepared at 30 °C is dispersible in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone concentrations as high as 0.71 mg/mL. The free-standing paper made of this CCG possessed an electrical conductivity of more than 22,000 S/m, one of the highest values ever reported.  相似文献

Magnetic nanowires of CoFe 2O4 were casted inside the channel of multiwall carbon nanotubes by mild chemical synthesis. A detailed investigation of these nanowires was performed using mainly the electron tomography technique; this study provides a complete characterization of their microstructure in terms of the spatial organization and the size distribution of individual particles forming the nanowire as well as its residual porosity. In particular, we have shown that the size of the CoFe 2O4 monocrystalline particles is closely dependent on the location of the particle within the nanotube, i.e., small particles close to the tube tip (5 nm) and bigger particles inside the tube channel (15 nm). As the theoretical critical size for superparamagnetic relaxation in CoFe 2O4 is estimated within the range of 4-9 nm, the size distribution obtained by 3D-TEM agrees with the Mossbauer study that suggests the presence of two different magnetic components inside the nanowire. We have shown also that, by using this preparation method and for this internal diameter of nanotube, the CoFe 2O4 nanowire exhibits a continuous structure along the tube, has a residual porosity of 38%, and can fill the tube at only 50%, parameters which influence in a significant manner the magnetic behavior of this system.  相似文献

The nucleation and growth of single‐walled carbon nanotubes is observed in situ in a transmission electron microscope. Carbon atoms are implanted into catalytically active metal particles by electron‐beam sputtering. The metal particles are then shaped with a focused electron beam. Once the particles have a region of high surface curvature, spontaneous nucleation and growth of single‐walled carbon nanotubes occurs on the metal particles. It is shown that the local solubility of carbon in the metal determines the nucleation of nanotubes. This is confirmed by atomistic computer simulations treating the solubility of carbon in a metal particle as a function of the size of the system.  相似文献

ZnO structures were synthesised on the sapphire (112?0) substrate by a vapour transport method in a gas flowing furnace. The influence of the oxygen content in the gas mixture on the morphology and luminescent properties of ZnO structures grown on a strip-like substrate was investigated, with all other growth parameters being kept nominally identical. Integrated electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence analysis shows gradual variations of structural and optical emission properties for ZnO structures grown on the long substrate. Defect-related green luminescence of ZnO is found to be highly dependent on the oxygen vapour in the growth region of the furnace. Our findings demonstrate that the green luminescence is associated with oxygen deficiency in ZnO.  相似文献

We present a unified approach to the construction of multidimensional trellis codes that have small constellation expansion ratio (CER) and small peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) and hence are of high bandwidth efficiency. In the approach, we extend Wei's (1987) construction to dimensionalities other than a power of two and propose a low-complexity encoder. We also present a general partition technique that gives geometrically uniform partitions with a good distance profile. The proposed method can generate many good codes including previously reported Ungerboeck codes, Gallager-Calderbank-Sloane codes, and Wei codes with quadrature amplitude modulation signals. Some newly discovered six-dimensional trellis codes are compared with these known codes on their CER, PAR, effective coding gain, and encoder/decoder complexities.  相似文献
