In this study, we have investigated the degradation characteristics of surface radiation heat transfer properties of stainless steel 304. The emissivity (ε) and absorptivity (α) of stainless steel has been measured for a surface unexposed to sunlight and that exposed to sunlight for various time intervals (240, 480, 720, and 960?h). The temperature dependence of these properties is also measured for the temperature range of 30–300°C at 10 equal intervals. It is observed that the emissivity of the material increased when it is exposed to sunlight and the temperature dependence is very strong beyond 180°C. The absorptivity of the material increases first and then starts to decrease with exposure time. The combined effect of decrease in absorptivity and increase in emissivity leads to reduction in aS/E ratio, which results in a higher rate of radiation loss for exposed surfaces when compared to that for the unexposed surfaces.  相似文献

In this work, we have presented a spin-coating method to produce thin films started with pure BiCrO_3(BCO) and ended up with BiFeO_3(BFO) by increasing x values in the(BiFeO_3)_x–(BiCrO_3)_(1-x)composites. All the produced thin films have been crystallized at the annealing temperatures of 400 °C for 0.5 h. The XRD and EDAX spectrums give insight that the two crystal phases related to BCO and BFO stayed together within the thin film matrices. SEM analysis showed that the prepared composite had macroporous morphology with interconnected pores and its width(size) decreased with increasing x values. The strong correlations are observed among the microstructure, dielectric, ferroelectric, ferromagnetic properties and Fe concentration. Among all composites, the composition of 0.75 shows an attractive magnetization, polarization, switching and improved dielectric behaviors at room temperature. Significant increase in the multiferroic characteristics of 0.75 composition is due to arise of lower leakage current by causing reduction in oxygen vacancy density, and enhancement of super-exchange magnetic interaction between Fe~(3+) and Cr~(3+) at BFO/BCO interface layers. Our result shows that the thin layer on Pt(111)/Ti/SiO_2/Si substrate possesses simultaneously improved ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties which make an inaccessible potential application for nonvolatile ferroelectric memories.  相似文献

Two new polyurethaneoximes containing double and triple bonds in the main chain were prepared. An in situ preparation of 2-butene-1,4-diisocyanate and 2-butyne-1,4-diisocyanate and their polycondensation with dimethylglyoxime yielded polymers of low molecular weight. The UV, IR, NMR, DSC and TGA analyses of these polymers are reported. The possible mechanism of thermal degradation of one of the polymers is discussed.  相似文献

The production of different size and shape silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has increased considerably in recent years due to several commercial and biological applications. Here, rod‐shaped AgNPs (SNRs) were prepared using the microwave‐assisted method and characterised by ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy analysis. The present study aims to investigate the cyto–genotoxic effect of various concentrations (5, 10, and 15 µM) of SNRs using Allium cepa model. As a result, concentration‐dependent cyto–genotoxic effect of SNRs was observed through a decrease in the mitotic index, and an increase in the chromosomal aberrations such as chromosome break, disturbed metaphase, and anaphase bridge. To check the impact of Ag+ ions, 15 µM silver nitrate (AgNO3) was prepared and tested in all the assays. Furthermore, cell viability and different reactive oxygen species assays were performed to test the cytotoxicity evaluation of SNRs. The authors found that in all the tested assays, SNRs at high concentrations (15 µM) and AgNO3 (15 µM) were observed to cause maximal damage to the roots. A detailed theoretical analysis has been carried out to study the role of ceramic supports (alumina and SiC) and pulsed microwave heating of polymer (Natural Rubber, NR, and Nylon 66) slabs due to various distributions of microwave incidences. Ceramic plates are typical representations as they withstand high temperature without any deformation. It is found that ceramic plates influence the heating processes significantly and local hot spots within samples are governed by specific type of ceramic plates for various sample thicknesses and distributions of microwave incidence (one side or both sides). Optimized pulsing of microwave incidence has been employed to minimize the thermal runaway or hot spots in order to achieve uniform temperature distribution and pulsing is introduced based on two parameters: setpoint (ΔTS) and on-off constraint (T). Detailed spatial distributions of power and temperature are illustrated for a few representative length scales to demonstrate the role of local maxima in power and temperature on heating rate as well as thermal runaway with or without pulsing. Pulsing ratio (PR) has been defined as PR=toff/tp, where toff is power-off time and tp is the total processing time such that smaller PR denotes large processing rates. It is found that one side incidence gives smaller values of PR for both the ceramic plates whereas SiC plate may be suitable for both sides incidence with large sample thicknesses of NR samples. It is also found that larger values of setpoints also minimize PR. The setpoints along with the on-off constraint play critical role to select the heating strategy as a function of ceramic plates and types of incidence. Pulsing may not be important for smaller thicknesses of Nylon samples and SiC or alumina plates may be recommended for processing larger thicknesses of Nylon samples in presence of pulsing. Current study recommends the efficient microwave heating methodologies for polymer processing attached with ceramic plates by means of optimized pulsing for the first time.  相似文献

Good quality NLO single crystal 4-aminopyridine-1-ium 4-aminobenzoate (4AP4AB) were grown by slow evaporation method. The Single crystal XRD analysis shows that the 4AP4AB compound belongs to the monoclinic system with non-centrosymmetric group C. Further, the molecular structure and vibrational assignments of the grown crystal were analysed by NMR and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis. NBO analysis analysed inter and intramolecular interactions. Optical and thermal stabilities have been characterized by UV–Visible and DSC analysis. Linear optical parameters of the 4AP4AB crystal were quantified and listed by UV–visible study. Vicker's microhardness test at room temperature shows that the hardness number increases with increasing the load. The laser damage threshold (LDT) energy has been measured using an Nd:YAG laser. The impedance analysis recorded the dielectric response of the grown 4AP4AB crystal. The appearance of semicircle in Cole–Cole plot represents the dielectric relaxation and resistivity of the 4AP4AB crystal. Solid-state parameters of 4AP4AB were quantified and listed for the theoretical approaches.

Currently, we are developing a computational optical biopsy technology for molecular sensing. We use the diffusion equation to model photon propagation but have a concern about the accuracy of diffusion approximation when the optical sensor is close to a bioluminescent source. We derive formulas to describe photon fluence for point and ball sources and measurement formulas for an idealized optical biopsy probe. Then, we numerically compare the diffusion approximation and the radiative transport as implemented by Monte Carlo simulation in the cases of point and ball sources. Our simulation results show that the diffusion approximation can be accurately applied if mu's>mu(a) even if the sensor is very close to the source (>1mm). Furthermore, an approximate formula is given to describe the measurement of a cut-end fiber probe for a ball source.  相似文献
