An increasing concern of decision makers when dealing with system design is preparation for a wide range of potentially uncertain operating conditions. This paper provides a novel multiobjective approach for simulation-driven decision making that accounts for not only the conventional average system performance indices, but also (i) upper-tail, or extreme, values of these indices, and (ii) measures of their sensitivity to uncertainty in model parameters. The proposed approach is applied to a hospital emergency department service design case study wherein different design alternatives are compared using total time-in-system performance metric under multiple uncertain operating conditions.  相似文献

It is reported the synthesis of CaCO3 vaterite as stable nanoparticles and submicron-sized by a simple and relatively rapid procedure. XRD, SEM and FTIR techniques have been used to characterize the precipitated products. The synthesis is based on chemical precipitation of inorganic salt precursors, calcium nitrate tetrahydrate and sodium bicarbonate, and using the disaccharide sucrose as an additive in aqueous medium. The role of the disaccharide sucrose is to control the vaterite precipitation after nucleation and growth. It has been found that an increase in sugar concentration promotes the crystal precipitation of vaterite with spherulitic morphology, as revealed by SEM, and changed the surface of the precipitated particles. There is a significant difference between CaCO3 precipitation in the absence and presence of sucrose. Addition of 0% of sucrose leads to 83% of calcite as identified by XRD methods. In contrast, addition of 67% of sucrose in aqueous medium produces 100% vaterite. The present results may be useful to provide a quick, simple, inexpensive and novel method for the controlled synthesis of new advanced biomaterials based on vaterite particles without hazardous chemicals and inert atmosphere, with great possibilities for industrial scale production.  相似文献

SrPdO3 was prepared for the first time by the citrate method. XRD, SEM and TGA characterizations were carried out. The catalytic activity toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was investigated, the activation energy, and reaction order and reaction mechanism have been determined using Tafel polarization and impedance techniques. The modified surface showed up to 100 times more efficiency towards electrocatalytic production of hydrogen. Adsorption of hydrogen on the catalyst was the rate-determining step and the reaction order at the surface of the catalyst is 0.86. The molar magnetic susceptibility was measured using Faraday's method and anti-ferromagnetic character was observed.  相似文献

Miniature, fibre tailed and packaged, wavelength tunable actively mode locked semiconductor lasers have been developed for use as sources of approximately 20 ps transform limited pulses. Continuous stable operation with >40 nm tuning ranges centred either at 1.3 mu m or 1.55 mu m have been demonstrated. The package has an adjustable cavity length enabling the repetition frequency to be selected between 2 GHz and 8 GHz. Mean output powers in the monomode fibre tail are in the range -10 dBm to -5 dBm.<>  相似文献

The Upper Triassic Baluti Formation has been identified and mapped based on its log response in selected wells from the Zagros foldbelt in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq. A preliminary evaluation of the formation's source rock potential was made by Rock-Eval screening analysis in four wells along a NW-SE profile (Atrush-1, Shaikan-5B, Taq Taq-22 and Miran-2) with maturity determined from reflectance measurements in samples from well Taq Taq-22. The Baluti Formation consists of thinly interbedded shales, carbonates and anhydrite ranging in thickness from 48 m in well Atrush-1 to 118 m in well Miran-2. The Rock-Eval screening was conducted primarily on bulk cuttings samples plus selected picked cuttings. The TOC content is low to moderate (0.23 to 1.14 wt%). However, the shale content in many of the analysed bulk samples was relatively low, making assessment of the source potential problematic. The highest TOCs are recorded from the thickest analysed sections from wells Miran-2 and Taq Taq-22, where high-gamma bituminous shales are present. Rock-Eval Tmax values ranging from 295 to 438°C are not consistent with estimates of pre-Zagros burial to depths of between 4600 m (Atrush-1) and 6900 m (Miran-2). The relatively low Tmax values suggest that the S2 response does not reflect kerogen pyrolysis in these samples and may be due to the presence of solid bitumen, which is observed in the Baluti Formation in at least three of the study wells (Taq Taq-22, Miran-2 and Shaikan-5B). Little pyrolysable organic matter remains in the formation due to the interpreted deep pre-Zagros burial and the consequent high maturity in Taq Taq-22 (VR = 1.51%Ro) and Miran-2 (estimated VR >2%Ro), and the poor source character in Atrush-1 and Shaikan-5B. Organic petrography suggests the presence of vestiges of Types I and II kerogen in Taq Taq-22, with bitumen observed as stains in the matrix of the shales and also in the pores and fractures of interbedded dolostones. However, bitumen reflectance determinations for Taq Taq-22 indicate an equivalent vitrinite reflectance maturity of no more than 0.93%Ro, which is significantly less than that of the indigenous vitrinite, implying the solid bitumen in this well is derived primarily from migrated hydrocarbons. Further detailed analysis is required, but the results suggest that the Baluti Formation may have sourced hydrocarbons in its depocentre which is identified in this study as covering a NW-SE trending area between Bekhme and Sangaw.  相似文献

Characterizations on the pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor structure under High-Resolution X-ray Diffraction (HRXRD) have been carried out at room temperature. Variation of Al contents in AlxGa1−xAs alloys has been found to show a shift of diffraction peaks. This variation is also found to show the change of lattice constant of crystal and also sheet carrier concentration as obtained from a Hall effect measurement. The latter phenomenon is considerably interesting to study in the early stage of the electrical properties of device based on the crystal structure.  相似文献

A narrow linewidth, low chirp, wavelength selectable, packaged alternative to current DFB structures has been developed which employs a fibre reflection grating incorporated in the fibre pigtail. The wavelength of the packaged device can be determined by the appropriate choice of fibre grating coupled to the antireflection coated facet of a 1.55 mu m BH laser. Linewidths of less than 50 kHz, sidemode suppression of more than 30 dB and chirp when modulated at 1.2 Gbit/s of <0.5 MHz have been demonstrated.<>  相似文献

Due to rapid urbanization around the world, high concentrations of vehicular pollutants have deteriorated the outdoor air quality, which can affect the physical and psychological well-being of humans. Numerous strategies have been proposed to overcome these harmful impacts by improving the dispersion of air pollutants. Consequently, a question arises regarding the potential effects of building morphology on the dispersion of pollutants. Subsequently, transient three-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations are performed to examine the effect of building morphology on PM10 dispersion. Eleven cases with various prototypes and morphological methods are compared with a simple building form to identify the patterns of PM10 dispersion within a given time sequence under a prevailing inflow condition. The results indicate that the different designs of building morphology with varying Relative compactness (RC) indicator highlight the importance of considering morphological factors to improve outdoor air quality. In addition, the proposed prototypes can reduce PM10 concentrations by approximately 30%–90% at specific points in the studied time sequence. In particular, the vertical, horizontal, and grid folded prototypes can be considered more effective as an approximate decrease between 70% and 90% in PM10 concentrations is observed, which reflects the influence of building morphology on improving outdoor air quality.  相似文献
