Detection of defects in a grout curtain by geophysical methods

Conclusion The proposed method of detecting local defects in a cutoff curtain has a large radius of investigation and allows testing a 30-m-long section of the curtain during one experiment.Each experiment takes about 4 h. The area of use is limited to an evaluation of the quality of grout curtains constructed below the groundwater level. The method is intended for use together with other existing methods for increasing the details of checking grout curtains.In addition to a qualitative solution of the quality control problem (detection of local defects in the grout curtain), the method makes it possible to obtain a quantitative evaluation of the achieved effect based on solving the problem of the relation between the measured parameter and effect of grouting obtained for a homogeneous (porous) medium.The use of the described geophysical method of checking the quality of grout curtains makes it possible to increase the reliability of their work and to promptly introduce necessary changes into the grouting technology.Translated from Gidrotekhnickeskoe Stroitel'stvo, No. 7, pp. 23–27, July, 1986.

Investigation of electrical properties of organic memristors based on thin polyaniline-graphene films

The possibility of integration of graphene films applying the Langmuir-Schaefer method to the structure of the working channel of the organic memristor is investigated. The variation in electrical characteristics of memristor structures in the presence of graphenes in the working channel of the element is analyzed. New effects such as an increased working voltage range and the S-like shape of current-voltage characteristics are found, which is most probably associated with the charge accumulation in the region of graphene sheets.     

Autowave synthesis of cast binary silicides of molybdenum,tungsten, niobium,and titanium from thermite mixtures

The processes of combustion and phase separation in thermite SHS systems in the synthesis of cast composite materials based on the silicides of molybdenum, tungsten, niobium, and titanium in a wide range of ratios between them have been studied. Thermodynamic calculations for the hot MoO₃/2Al/2Si and WO₃/2Al/2Si systems have shown that the pressure has a the strong effect on the combustion temperature and yield of gaseous products, and for the cold 3Nb₂O₅/10Al/12Si and 3TiO₂/4Al/6Si systems, this effect has not been found. The effect of the ratio of the initial reagents and the activating high-temperature additive (CaO₂ + Al) on the combustion and phase-separation parameters have been studied experimentally.
