The dependence of the oxygen potentials on oxygen non-stoichiometry and temperature of Am0.5Pu0.5O2−x has been obtained by the electromotive force (EMF) method with the cell: (Pt) air |Zr(Ca)O2−x| Am0.5Pu0.5O2−x (Pt). The x value of Am0.5Pu0.5O2−x was changed at 1333 K over 0.02 < x ? 0.25 by the coulomb titration method. The temperature dependence of the oxygen potential was also measured over the range of 1173-1333 K. It was found that the oxygen potential decreased from −80 to −360 kJ mol−1 with increasing x from 0.021 to 0.22 at 1333 K and that it remained almost constant at −360 kJmol−1 around x = 0.23. It was concluded that Am0.5Pu0.5O2−x should be composed of the single fluorite-type phase over 0.02 < x ? 0.22 and the mixed phases of fluorite-type and (Am, Pu)9O16 at around x = 0.23.  相似文献

The oxygen potentials of AmO2− x were measured in the x range of 0.01–0.5 and the temperature range of 1000–1333 K by the electromotive force method. The oxygen potentials at 1333 K were −19.83 kJ/mol for x =0.019 and −319.1 kJ/mol for x =0.485, which were higher than those of CeO2− x by approximately 200 kJ/mol for the corresponding x values. From the dependence of the oxygen potentials on x and temperature, a tentative phase diagram of Am–O system was proposed, which suggested the presence of the intermediate phases of Am7O12 and Am9O16 in the Am–O system.  相似文献

The design and test of an X-band monolithic four-stage low-noise amplifier (LNA) with 0.5 μm-gate pulse-doped GaAs MESFETs for application in a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) converter is presented. The key feature of the research is a detailed demonstration of the advantages of using series feedback with experiments and simulations. This LNA shows an excellent input VSWR match under 1.4 as well as a noise figure of 1.67 dB and a gain of 24 dB at 12 GHz. The noise figure, the gain and VSWRs exhibit very little bias current dependence due to the exceptional features of the pulse-doped structure FETs and the optimized circuit design. Insensitivity to bias current implies performance stability in the face of process fluctuations. Thus, the yield of chips with noise figures of less than 2.0 dB is as high as 62.5%, and the variations of gain and VSWR are highly uniform as well  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: The aim of the present study was to compare power Doppler imaging with traditional color Doppler imaging and with contrast enhanced computer tomography in the evaluation of intratumoral vascularity of hepatocellular carcinomas at diagnosis and in response to percutaneous ethanol injection. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Sixteen patients with hepatocellular carcinoma underwent colour Doppler, power Doppler and computed tomography at diagnosis. Seventeen patients were studied by the three techniques one month after percutaneous ethanol injection treatment. RESULTS: At baseline evaluation, power Doppler and color Doppler were always in agreement and, with the exception of one case, were also in agreement with the computerized tomography scan. On the contrary, power Doppler and computerized tomography are more sensitive than color Doppler in the evaluation of residual vascularized tumoral tissue after percutaneous ethanol injection. In 3 patients, residual vascularity was demonstrated only by computerized tomography while color and power Doppler were negative. In another 3 cases, a positive power Doppler signal, with a typical arterial Doppler spectrum, was observed while color Doppler and computerized tomography were negative. In these patients, cancer relapse was clinically evident after a few months and treatment was repeated to obtain complete necrosis. CONCLUSIONS: We conclude that only the integration of the results of all these techniques can reliably evaluate tumoral vascularity after percutaneous ethanol injection.  相似文献

Many hormonal signals from peripheral tissues contribute to the regulation of energy homeostasis and food intake. These regulators including leptin, insulin, and ghrelin, modulate the orexigenic and anorexigenic neuropeptide expression in hypothalamic nuclei. The anti-aging effects of caloric restriction have been explained from an evolutional viewpoint of the adaptive response of the neuroendocrine and metabolic response systems to maximize survival during periods of food shortage. In organisms, excess energy is stored in adipose tissues as a triglyceride preparation for such survival situations. Adipose tissue has recently been recognized as an endocrine organ, and leptin, as secreted by adipocyte, seems to be an especially important factor for the adaptive response to fasting and neuroendocrine alterations under caloric restriction. In this review, we discuss the potential involvement of neuroendocrine modulators in longevity and the anti-aging effects of caloric restriction.  相似文献

As a part of our studies on the mechanism of uptake of paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) and the kinetics of its accumulation in bivalves, oysters Crassostrea gigas were experimentally contaminated with PSP by being fed with the toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium tamarense for 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days. Temporal variations in the PSP contents and their profiles in oysters during the feeding experiment were monitored by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the toxin profile of the oysters was compared with that of A. tamarense. Toxins excreted from the infested oysters into the seawater for 2 and 10 days were recovered and analyzed by HPLC. PSP toxicity rapidly appeared in the tissues of oysters and their toxicity levels reached 0.6 (0.3), 2.2 (1.1), 1.0 (0.5), 3.4 (1.6) and 1.1 (0.5) MU/g (nmol/g) shucked meat at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days, respectively. The accumulation rates of toxin, calculated from the total amount (nmol) of toxins expressed by the total cell number fed during the exposure period and the toxicity of the oysters, were 14.1, 18.7, 5.1, 14.9 and 3.2% for 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days. During feeding experiments, the toxin profile of oysters changed substantially, showing marked differences from the proportions found in the toxigenic dinoflagellate used as food. The toxin components in this strain existed almost exclusively as beta-epimers, which accounted for 66.3 mol% of the total. This contrasts with the case of the oysters, where the beta-epimers represented 24.8, 29.8, 25.1, 27.3 and 25.2 mol% of the total at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days, respectively. The amount of gonyautoxin-1 (GTX1) accumulated in oysters increased linearly and slowly for 8 days and the maximum content of GTX1 reached 51.3 mol%. The composition of GTX group compounds recovered from the seawater in which the oysters had been reared was a little different from that within the oyster tissues.  相似文献

Under-expanded jets which are discharged from an orifice or a nozzle have long been subject of researches for aeronautical and mechanical applications. Provided that the jet pressure ratio and nozzle configuration are known, the major features of the steady jet are now well known. However, the jet pressure ratio is often varied even during the process in many practical applications. Many questions remain unanswered with regard to how the supersonic jet responds to the transient process of the pressure ratio and whether the steady jet data for a specific pressure ratio can still bear the same during the transient process of pressure ratio. In the present study, the hysteric phenomenon of under-expanded jets has been investigated with the help of computational fluid dynamics methods. The under-expanded jets of both dry and moist air have been employed to investigate the transient processes of the pressure ratio. The effects of nonequilibrium condensation occurring in the under-expanded moist air jets are explored on the hysteresis phenomenon. It is known that under-expanded air jet produced during the startup transient of jet behaves differently from the shutdown transient process, leading to the hysteric phenomenon of under-expanded jet. It is also known that the moist air jet reduces the hysteric phenomenon, compared with the dry air jet, and that non-equilibrium condensation which occurs in the underexpanded moist air jet is responsible for these findings. Yumiko Otobe received her B.S. degree in Faculty of Engineering from Yamaguchi University, Japan, in 1978. She then received her Eng. D. degree from Saga University, Japan, in 2007. Dr. Otobe is currently a Research Associate at the Department of Control & Information Systems Engineering, Kitakyushu National College of Technology, Japan. Dr. Otobe’s research interests include sonic and supersonic jets of various gases as well as nonequilibrium condensation phenomena. Toshiaki Setoguchi received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan, in 1976. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Kyushu University, Japan, in 1978 and 1981, respectively. Dr. Setoguchi is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Saga University, Japan. To assess levels of shellfish intoxication by the paralytic shellfish poison (PSP)-producing dinoflagellate Alexandrium tamarense, potential health risks to human shellfish consumers and the possible need for regulatory intervention, yearly variations of maximum cell density of this species were examined from 1993 to 2004 in Kure Bay and Kaita Bay, which are located within Hiroshima Bay, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The seawater temperature was determined concomitantly. In Kure Bay, maximum concentrations of 1,400 and 1,300 cells/mL at 0 and 5 m depths were observed on 21 and 24 April 1997. In Kaita Bay, remarkably high concentrations above 1,000 cells/mL of A. tamarense were observed in two out of three years investigated. These facts suggest that the environment in both bays is favorable for the propagation of A. tamarense. The temperature range at which the natural population of A. tamarense blooms was generally from 12 to 16 degrees C. Four strains (ATKR-94, -95, -97 and -01) from Kure Bay and one strain (ATKT-97) from Kaita Bay were established. The strain ATKR-94, cultured in modified SW-2 medium at 15 degrees C for 15 days, showed a specific toxicity of 33.8 x 10(-6) MU/cell. The toxins in all five strains exist almost exclusively as beta-epimers (C2 (PX2 or GTX8), GTX3, dcGTX3 and GTX4), which accounted for 54.9 to 73.0 mol% of the total. The corresponding a-epimers (C1 (PX1 or epi-GTX8), GTX2, dcGTX2 and GTX1) accounted for 6.0 to 28.9 mol%. The toxin profiles of ATKR-97 and ATKT-97 were characterized by unusually high proportions of low-potency sulfocarbamoyl toxin, which comprised 62.4 and 68.2 mol%, respectively, of total toxins. In the toxic bivalves, the low-toxicity sulfocarbamoyl components, major components of A. tamarense, were present in amounts of only a few percent, suggesting that in vivo conversion of PSP occurs after ingestion. A comparison of the toxin profiles of the causative dinoflagellate and contaminated bivalves showed that PSP components exist in the bivalves in the form of alpha-epimers, presumably owing to accumulation or storage of the toxins.  相似文献

When B‐type (2.0–8.0 µm) wheat starch granules containing various amounts (2.1–25%) of amylose were treated with 25% KI/10% I2 solution, low‐amylose (below 10% amylose) B‐type wheat starch granules changed to the ghost form. It is known that A‐type (25–35 µm) wheat starch granules change to the ghost form and show a typical double structure (a black‐brown central portion and red‐brown surrounding portion), however, the B‐type wheat starch ghosts did not show the same double structure but rather a simple (red‐brown portion) sack form. The relative ghost areas in the B‐type wheat starch granules were highly correlated to the amylose content (%), which was similar to the results of A‐type starch granules. This suggests that the amylose molecule in B‐type starch contributes to the structural stability of the starch granule.  相似文献
