Influence of lead on the wear resistance of cast composites of the Fe-Cr-Cu-Ti-C system in sliding friction

Hydrogen Resistance of Steels Alloyed with Nitrogen

We study the resistance of stainless steels with different contents of nitrogen after plasma-arc remelting to hydrogen degradation. The dependence of the mechanical properties of steels on the content of nitrogen is quite complicated, which is explained by changes in the phase composition. In the analyzed collection of steels (Kh18AN9, Kh20AN15, Kh18AG10, and Kh18AG15), Kh18AG15 steel has the best combination of the characteristics of strength and plasticity in hydrogen.

Procedure and Equipment for Measuring Parameters of Thermoelectric Generator Modules

Equipment for measuring parameters of thermoelectric generator modules in the temperature range from 30°C to 600°C, and in the expanded range to 800°C, has been developed. To determine module efficiency, the equipment employs a direct heat flux measurement using heat meters. Steps to minimize measurement errors were taken in the development. This equipment can be used for studies on the development of thermoelectric modules, as well as for their quality control during commercial production. Consumers will find this equipment useful for testing generator modules prior to mounting them into final products.     

Structure and tribological characteristics of a cast heterogeneous alloy before and after laser treatment

The positive influence of laser treatment on the formation of the structure of the surface layer of a Fe– Cr–Cu–C–Ti cast alloy and its tribological characteristics under conditions of boundary lubrication is shown.     

Methods and Equipment for Quality Control of Thermoelectric Materials

Step-by-step control is very important in the manufacturing of thermoelectric generators and cooling modules. Of key importance is quality control of thermoelectric material rods, and discs cut from such rods. This work describes two installations for measuring the Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity of rods, as well as for measuring the Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity of discs. It is established that using such devices in the practice of manufacture of cooling modules enables enhancement of module quality and reduction of material waste by 7% to 15%.
