An alternative for reducing emissions from marine fuel is to blend bio-oil from lignocellulose non-edible feedstocks to diesel fossil fuels. Phase diagrams of the ternary systems were built to represent the transition from heterogeneous regions to homogeneous regions. Four homogeneous blends of bio-oil of eucalyptus-bioethanol-marine gasoil were experimentally characterized with respect to the most important fuel parameters for marine engines: water content, flash point, low heating value, viscosity, and acidity. Blends with closer properties to marine gasoil replacement, lower costs, and environmental impacts should be tested for large engines.  相似文献

The rapid development of the science and technology of organic semiconductors has already led to mass application of organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) in television monitors of outstanding quality as well as in a large variety of smaller displays found in smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets, while introduction of the technology to the illumination sector is imminent. Notably, the requirements of all such applications for emission in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum are well tuned to the optical and electronic properties of typical organic semiconductors, thereby representing relatively “low‐hanging fruits,” in terms of material development and exploitation. However, the question arises as to whether developing materials suited for efficient near‐infrared (NIR, 700–1000 nm) emission is possible, and, crucially, desirable to enable new classes of applications spanning from through‐space, short‐range communications to biomedical sensors, night vision, and more generally security applications to name but a few. Here, the major fundamental hurdles to be overcome to achieve efficient NIR emission from organic π‐conjugated systems are discussed, recent progress is reviewed, and an outlook for further development of both materials and applications is provided.  相似文献

The polyynes produced by the electric arc between graphite electrodes submerged in hexane are readily reduced to a mixture of polyenes and ene-ynes by a treatment with Zn dust and hydrochloric acid. Experimental evidences of this reduction reaction are presented by electronic absorption spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, and HPLC analysis with diode-array detector. Some consequences of this simple passage from polyynes to ene-ynes are briefly discussed in a biochemical context.  相似文献

In this paper we report the use of photothermal techniques such as Thermal lens (TL) spectrometry, Photoacoustic and heat capacity, ρcp, to determine the thermo-optical parameters, such as thermal conductivity (K), thermal diffusivity (D), specific heat (cp) and the optical path dependence with temperature (ds/dT), of an undoped polycrystalline 3C-SiC. To our knowledge, this is the first time that Thermal lens technique is used for wide band-gap systems. Results obtained for the polycrystalline sample with TL technique indicates that ds/dT is negative at room temperature. Moreover, the obtained values of thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity are in good agreement with that found in the literature, indicating that the phototermal techniques can be used to obtain the referred parameters in circumstances where other techniques cannot be used, for example, in harsh environments.  相似文献

The TELEMAC project brings new methodologies from the Information and Science Technologies field to the world of water treatment. TELEMAC offers an advanced remote management system which adapts to most of the anaerobic wastewater treatment plants that do not benefit from a local expert in wastewater treatment. The TELEMAC system takes advantage of new sensors to better monitor the process dynamics and to run automatic controllers that stabilise the treatment plant, meet the depollution requirements and provide a biogas quality suitable for cogeneration. If the automatic system detects a failure which cannot be solved automatically or locally by a technician, then an expert from the TELEMAC Control Centre is contacted via the internet and manages the problem.  相似文献

A searching algorithm is presented for determining which members of a set of n points in an N dimensional space lie inside a prescribed space subregion. The algorithm is then extended to handle finite size objects as well as points. In this form it is capable of solving problems such as that of finding the objects from a given set which intersect with a prescribed object. The suitability of the algorithm is demonstrated for the problem of three dimensional unstructured mesh generation using the advancing front method.  相似文献

The new emerging area of Enterprise Wide Optimization (EWO) has focused the attention in effectively solving the combined production/distribution scheduling problem. The importance of logistic activities performed in multi-site environments comes from the relative magnitude of the associated transportation costs and the good chance of getting large savings on such expenses. This paper first develops an exact MILP mathematical formulation for the multiple vehicle time-window-constrained pickup and delivery (MVPDPTW) problem. The approach is able to account for many-to-many transportation requests, pure pickup and delivery tasks, heterogeneous vehicles and multiple depots. Optimal solutions for a variety of benchmark problems with cluster/random distributions of pickup and delivery locations and limited sizes in terms of customer requests and vehicles have been discovered. However, the computational cost exponentially grows with the number of requests. For large-scale m-PDPTW problems, a local search improvement algorithm steadily providing a better solution through two evolutionary steps is also presented. A neighborhood structure around the starting solution is generated by first allowing multiple request exchanges among nearby trips and then permitting the reordering of nodes on every individual route. If a better set of routes is found, both steps are repeated until no improved solution is discovered. Compact MILP mathematical formulations for both sub-problems have been developed and solved through an efficient branch-and-bound algorithm. A significant number of large-scale m-PDPTW benchmark problems, some of them including up to 100 transportation requests, were successfully solved in reasonable CPU times.  相似文献

A fluidized bed bioreactor (FBBR) was operated for more than 575 days to remove 2,4,6‐trichlorophenol (TCP) and phenol (Phe) from a synthetic toxic wastewater containing 80 mg L?1 of TCP and 20 mg L?1 of Phe under two regimes: Methanogenic (M) and Partially‐Aerated Methanogenic (PAM). The mesophilic, laboratory‐scale FBBR consisted of a glass column (3 L capacity) loaded with 1 L of 1 mm diameter granular activated carbon colonized by an anaerobic consortium. Sucrose (1 g COD L?1) was used as co‐substrate in the two conditions. The hydraulic residence time was kept constant at 1 day. Both conditions showed similar TCP and Phe removal (99.9 + %); nevertheless, in the Methanogenic regime, the accumulation of 4‐chlorophenol (4CP) up to 16 mg L?1 and phenol up to 4 mg L?1 was observed, whereas in PAM conditions 4CP and other intermediates were not detected. The specific methanogenic activity of biomass decreased from 1.01 ± 0.14 in M conditions to 0.19 ± 0.06 mmolCH4 h?1 gTKN?1 in PAM conditions whereas the specific oxygen uptake rate increased from 0.039 ± 0.008 in M conditions to 0.054 ± 0.012 mmolO2 h?1 gTKN?1, which suggested the co‐existence of both methanogenic archaea and aerobic bacteria in the undefined consortium. The advantage of the PAM condition over the M regime is that it provides for the thorough removal of less‐substituted chlorophenols produced by the reductive dehalogenation of TCP rather than the removal of the parent compound itself. BACKGROUND: There is no agreement on the management of patients with cirrhosis and recurrent variceal bleeding after failure of medical or endoscopic treatments or both. Portal systemic shunts are highly effective in preventing rebleeding but are associated with a high incidence of chronic encephalopathy. This study compared the results of a slightly modified Sugiura procedure (esophageal transection plus esophagogastric devascularization plus splenectomy) with those of nonselective portal systemic shunts in patients with previous variceal bleeding. METHODS: Fifty-four patients were included in this randomized controlled study between January 1984 and April 1989. The major end point was chronic encephalopathy. Secondary end points were recurrent variceal bleeding, survival, ascites, and hepatocellular carcinoma. RESULTS: Twenty-seven patients were assigned to each group. The rate of chronic encephalopathy was significantly (p = 0.002) lower after modified Sugiura procedure than after portal systemic shunt. Recurrent variceal bleeding was more frequent after modified Sugiura procedure than after portal systemic shunt, but the difference is not significant. One-, two-, and three-year survival rates were 93%, 81%, and 67%, respectively, in the modified Sugiura group and 78%, 66%, and 39%, respectively, in the portal systemic shunt group (p = 0.044). CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the modified Sugiura procedure is better overall than the nonselective portal systemic shunt in the management of patients with cirrhosis and recurrent variceal bleeding. Although the rebleeding rate is higher after the modified Sugiura procedure, this does not seem to affect mortality in these patients.  相似文献
