Noncontiguous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (NC-OFDM)-based cognitive radio (CR) systems achieve highly efficient spectrum utilization by transmitting unlicensed users' data on subcarriers of licensed users’ data when they are free. However, there are two disadvantages to the NC-OFDM system: out-of-band power (OBP) and a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). OBP arises due to side lobes of an NC-OFDM signal in the frequency domain, and it interferes with the spectrum for unlicensed users. A high PAPR occurs due to the inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) block used in an NC-OFDM system, and it induces nonlinear effects in power amplifiers. In this study, we propose an algorithm called “Alternative Projections onto Convex and Non-Convex Sets” that reduces the OBP and PAPR simultaneously. The alternate projections are performed onto these sets to form an iteration, and it converges to the specified limits of in-band-power, peak amplitude, and OBP. Furthermore, simulations show that the bit error rate performance is not degraded while reducing OBP and PAPR.  相似文献

C5/C6 tetraplegic patients and transhumeral amputees may be able to use voluntary shoulder motion as command signals for a functional electrical stimulation (FES) system or a transhumeral prosthesis. Such prostheses require, at the most basic level, the control of endpoint position in three dimensions, hand orientation, and grasp. Spatiotemporal synergies exist between the proximal and distal arm joints for goal-oriented reaching movements as performed by able-bodied subjects. To fit these synergies, we utilized three-layer artificial neural networks. These networks could be used as a means for obtaining user intent information during reaching movements. We conducted reaching experiments in which subjects reached to and grasped a handle in a three-dimensional gantry. In our previous work, the three rotational angles at the shoulder were used to predict elbow flexion/extension angle during reaches on a two-dimensional plane. In this paper, we extend this model to include the two translational movements at the shoulder as inputs and an additional output of forearm pronation/supination. Counterintuitively, as the complexity of the task and the complexity of the neural network architecture increased, the performance also improved.  相似文献

Mastitis is an important economic disease causing production losses in dairy industry. Antibiotics are becoming ineffective in controlling mastitis due to the emergence of resistant strains requiring the development of novel therapeutic agents. In this study, the authors present the phytochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with acetyl‐11‐α‐keto‐β‐boswellic acid and evaluation of their activity in Staphylococcus aureus induced murine mastitis. Boswellic acid mediated AgNP (BANS) were oval, polydispersed (99.8 nm) with an minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.033 µg ml−1 against S. aureus, inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 30.04 µg ml−1 on mouse splenocytes and safe at an in vivo acute oral dose of 3.5 mg kg−1 in mice. Mastitis was induced in lactating mice by inoculating S. aureus (log10 5.60 cfu) and treated 6 h post‐inoculation with BANS (0.12 mg kg−1, intramammary and intraperitoneal), and cefepime (1 mg kg−1, intraperitoneal). S. aureus inoculated mice showed increased bacterial load, neutrophil infiltration in mammary glands and elevated C‐reactive protein (CRP) in serum. Oxidative stress was also observed with elevated malondialdehyde level, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities. BANS treatment significantly (P  < 0.05) reduced bacterial load, CRP, SOD, CAT activities and neutrophil infiltration in affected mammary glands. Wound healing requires a series of cellular events and a cascade of co‐ordinated and systemic biochemical events. Silver nanoparticles possess many beneficial properties for wound management including antibacterial, anti‐inflammatory and pro‐healing properties. In this study, the authors investigated the wound healing properties of Cinnamomum verum extract mediated nanosilver (CENS) particles in comparison with 1% povidone iodine, citrate mediate NS and CE treatments. The topical application of CENS showed good antibacterial activity and accelerated wound healing with complete epithelialisation and normal re‐growth of hair in all three models of study: namely, excision, incision and dead space models in rats compared with all other treatments.
