Effect of Swinging of Vibration Sensors on Their Calibration Error

The requirements of GOST ISO 5347-1–96 for restricting the level of vibration sensor swinging during calibration are considered. It is demonstrated that that section of the standard must be made more stringent. The error of measurement of small vibration amplitudes (less than 0.2 m) during measurements is estimated from a spectral analysis of an interferometer signal.     

Thermal stresses in pressure vessels on cooling and flushing. Part 3. Cooling a vessel with a gas

Conclusions The thermal and stress states on gas cooling show that effective cooling is best provided by a flange with a conical nozzle and ejector. No matter what the exact design, including changes designed to accelerate the cooling, it is not possible to cool the vessel to the set temperature (T 77°K) with gaseous nitrogen in 6 h. To provide uniform cooling, it is best to reduce the wall thickness of the neck. From the strength viewpoint, the most highly stressed zones are the transition ones between sphere and cylinder at the inner surfaces of the upper and lower necks. Application of hydrocarbon fuel conversion in aircraft engines

Issues pertaining to the use of hydrocarbon-fuel conversion processes for cooling heat-loaded parts of aircraft engines are briefly considered. A setup intended for testing thermochemical reactors operating as elements of thermal protection is described. Results of experiments with methane conversion on various catalysts and data on the consumption of a chemically reacting mixture and the temperature of heated reactor walls are presented.     

The Calibration of Vibration Sensors by Laser-Holographic Methods

A method of calibrating vibration sensors which use the potential possibilities of laser and holographic interferometry is described. The results obtained in developing the method are presented. Equipment for calibrating sensors on elastic suspensions is described.
