The requirements of GOST ISO 5347-1–96 for restricting the level of vibration sensor swinging during calibration are considered. It is demonstrated that that section of the standard must be made more stringent. Conclusions The thermal and stress states on gas cooling show that effective cooling is best provided by a flange with a conical nozzle and ejector. No matter what the exact design, including changes designed to accelerate the cooling, it is not possible to cool the vessel to the set temperature (T 77°K) with gaseous nitrogen in 6 h. To provide uniform cooling, it is best to reduce the wall thickness of the neck. From the strength viewpoint, the most highly stressed zones are the transition ones between sphere and cylinder at the inner surfaces of the upper and lower necks.
