The electrical conductivity of solution-grown ethyl cellulose (EC) films, 5–30 μm thick, has been studied in the sandwich configuration (metal–EC–metal) as a function of iodine concentration from 0.5 to 5.0 wt% ratio. The studies were conducted in the temperature range 333–383 K, while the field was varied over the range (3.0–5.5) × 104V/cm. Aluminium was used as the lower electrode, while the upper electrode was of Al, Ag, Cu, Au or Sn. Certain transient effects such as a large burst of current immediately after the application of field were observed. An attempt was made to identify the nature of the current by comparing the observed dependence on electric field, electrode material and temperature with the respective characteristic features of the existing theories of electrical conduction. The results show that the electrical conduction follows Ohm's law at lower fields, while at higher fields, space-charge limited current (SCLC) was observed. It was also found that Richardson–Schottky emission was responsible, to some extent, for the transport of charge carriers in the polymer. The conductivity of the films increased on doping with iodine. The dopant molecules are considered to act as additional trapping centes and provide links between the polymer molecules in the amorphous region, thus resulting in the formation of charge transfer complexes. 相似文献

A 90-nm silicon-on-insulator (SOI) CMOS system on-chip integrates high-performance FETs with 243-GHz F/sub t/, 208-GHz F/sub max/, 1.45-mS//spl mu/m gm, and sub 1.1-dB NFmin up to 26 GHz. Inductor Q of 20, VNCAP of 1.8-fF//spl mu/m/sup 2/, varactor with a tuning range as high as 25:1, and a low-loss microstrip. Transmission lines were successfully integrated without extra masks and processing steps. SOI and its low parasitic junction capacitance enables this high level of performance and will expand the use of CMOS for millimeter-wave applications. 相似文献

Any good yield-oriented defect strategy must have two main components-(a) the ability to perform rapid defect diagnosis for yield learning, and (b) the ability to efficiently extract defect parameters from the manufacturing line. This paper focuses on developing an area efficient hyperbolic Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) algorithm with performance improvement. The algorithm eliminates the need of scale factor calculation in the Range of Convergence (ROC). At the same time the range of convergence offered is higher than the conventional CORDIC ROC in the hyperbolic rotation mode. Being the only kind of algorithm in hyperbolic rotation with sign sequence μ?=?1 always, one complete operation requires just 5 iterations. Thus the pipelined implementation has 5 stages which provides a 50% increase in throughput in comparison to conventional CORDIC. As far as the area improvement is considered, 16-bit processor can be realized using 56% less number of full adders required by Flat-CORDIC. The x and y datapath are based on series expansion of hyperbolic functions. The complete algorithm design along with pipelined architecture implementation is detailed. 相似文献

Two phase flow in a horizontal pipe, with orifice plates placed at regular intervals as obstructions, was studied for the effect of phase velocities on flow patterns, fractional phase hold-ups, pressure drop and liquid phase axial dispersion. Radioactive technetium-99m (as an aqueous solution of sodium pertechnatate) was used as tracer. A pulse injection technique with two point measurements was employed. Three different orifice diameters were used (8 mm, 16 mm, and 20 mm) in a pipe diameter of 32 mm. The orifice spacing was 500 mm in all cases. Superficial gas (air) velocity was varied over a range from 0.02 m/s to 1.0 m/s and superficial liquid (water) velocity from 0.03 m/s to 0.85 m/s. Different flow patterns under different flow conditions were identified and a generalised flow map is presented. Variations in hold-ups and pressure drop with flow patterns have been explained. Rational correlations have been developed for fractional phase hold-ups and pressure drop. A preliminary comparison of two phase gas-liquid flow in a horizontal pipe with orifice obstructions (to be called orifice pipe reactor), as a gas-liquid contacting device, is made with a conventional bubble column reactor. Transient discharging currents and steady‐state conduction in solution‐grown ethyl cellulose (EC)–poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) blends measured as a function of temperature (30–80 °C) and field strength (10–100 kV cm−1) are reported. Transient currents are found to follow the Curie–VonSchweidler law, characterized by different slopes in short‐ and long‐time regions, having different decay constant values lying between 0.75–0.99, and 1.68–1.95. The corresponding activation energies are found to increase with time of measurement of discharge current. Isochronal characteristics (ie current versus temperature plots at constant times) constructed from the data seem to reveal a broad peak observed at 60 °C. The dependence of dark current at different temperatures (30–80 °C) in a metal (1)–EC–PMMA blend–metal (1)/(2) system on the applied voltage in the range 10–100 kV cm−1 has also been studied; the current is found to be strongly temperature dependent. Dipole polarization and space charge resulting from trapping of injected charge carriers in energetically distributed traps and induced dipoles created because of the piling up of charge carriers at the phase boundary of the heterogeneous components of the blend are considered to account for the observed transient currents. The results of current–voltage measurement on blends are interpreted to show that the low‐field steady‐state conduction is ohmic in nature, and in high fields the charge carriers are generated by field‐assisted lowering of coulombic barriers at the traps and are conducted through the bulk of the material by a hopping process between the localized states by a Jonscher–Ansari Poole–Frenkel mechanism. The modified P–F barrier is calculated to be 1.89 × 10−19 J (1.18 eV), 1.92 × 10−19 J (1.20 eV) and 1.95 × 10−19 J (1.22 eV) for P1, P2 and P3 blends, respectively. © 2000 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

A detailed study of electrical conduction mechanism in bimetallized ferrocene-doped polyvinyl pyrrolidone films was carried out. The measurements were carried out on films of about 20 μm thick, in the field range of (2.0–8.0) x 104 V/cm at temperatures ranging from 363 to 423 K. An investigation of the effect of impurity such as ferrocene in the polymer matrix was undertaken. Lowering of activation energy and increase in current due to doping were observed. The results showed that the charge carriers were generated by field-assisted lowering of coulombic barriers at the traps and were conducted through the bulk of the material by a hopping process between the localized states by a Jonscher-Ansari modified Poole-Frenkel mechanism. The dependence of current and activation energy on the ferrocene concentration is explained on the basis of charge transfer type of interaction between dopant and polymeric material. 相似文献
