In this paper, we see adaptive control as a three-part adaptive-filtering problem. First, the dynamical system we wish to control is modeled using adaptive system-identification techniques. Second, the dynamic response of the system is controlled using an adaptive feedforward controller. No direct feedback is used, except that the system output is monitored and used by an adaptive algorithm to adjust the parameters of the controller. Third, disturbance canceling is performed using an additional adaptive filter. The canceler does not affect system dynamics, but feeds back plant disturbance in a way that minimizes output disturbance power. The techniques work to control minimum-phase or nonminimum-phase, linear or nonlinear, single-input-single-output (SISO) or multiple-input-multiple-ouput (MIMO), stable or stabilized systems. Constraints may additionally be placed on control effort for a practical implementation. Simulation examples are presented to demonstrate that the proposed methods work very well.  相似文献

The design of a low-voltage 40-GHz complementary voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with 15% frequency tuning range fabricated in 0.13-/spl mu/m partially depleted silicon-on-insulator (SOI) CMOS technology is reported. Technological advantages of SOI over bulk CMOS are demonstrated, and the accumulation MOS (AMOS) varactor limitations on frequency tuning range are addressed. At 1.5-V supply, the VCO core and each output buffer consumes 11.25 mW and 3 mW of power, respectively. The measured phase noise at 40-GHz is -109.73 dBc/Hz at 4-MHz offset from the carrier, and the output power is -8 dBm. VCO performance using high resistivity substrate (/spl sim/300-/spl Omega//spl middot/cm) has the same frequency tuning range but 2 dB better phase noise compared with using low resistivity substrate (10 /spl Omega//spl middot/cm). The VCO occupies a chip area of only 100 /spl mu/m by 100 /spl mu/m (excluding pads).  相似文献

We describe and demonstrate an adaptive optical system based on the combination of a micromachined membrane deformable mirror and the stochastic parallel gradient descent control algorithm. This compact and relatively inexpensive adaptive optical system is used to maximize the coupling of a distorted laser beam into a single-mode optical fiber. The coupling efficiency is improved by 12 dB, and the coupling efficiency after correction is 64% of the diffraction-limited coupling efficiency.  相似文献

Three novel 2,7-substituted acridine derivatives were designed and synthesized to investigate the effect of this functionalization on their interaction with double-stranded and G-quadruplex DNA. Detailed investigations of their ability to bind both forms of DNA were carried out by using spectrophotometric, electrophoretic, and computational approaches. The ligands in this study are characterized by an open-chain (L1) or a macrocyclic (L2, L3) framework. The aliphatic amine groups in the macrocycles are joined by ethylene (L2) or propylene chains (L3). L1 behaved similarly to the lead compound m-AMSA, efficiently intercalating into dsDNA, but stabilizing G-quadruplex structures poorly, probably due to the modest stabilization effect exerted by its protonated polyamine chains. L2 and L3, containing small polyamine macrocyclic frameworks, are known to adopt a rather bent and rigid conformation; thus they are generally expected to be sterically impeded from recognizing dsDNA according to an intercalative binding mode. This was confirmed to be true for L3. Nevertheless, we show that L2 can give rise to efficient π-π and H-bonding interactions with dsDNA. Additionally, stacking interactions allowed L2 to stabilize the G-quadruplex structure: using the human telomeric sequence, we observed the preferential induction of tetrameric G-quadruplex forms. Thus, the presence of short ethylene spacers seems to be essential for obtaining a correct match between the binding sites of L2 and the nucleobases on both DNA forms investigated. Furthermore, current modeling methodologies, including docking and MD simulations and free energy calculations, provide structural evidence of an interaction mode for L2 that is different from that of L3; this could explain the unusual stabilizing ability of the ligands (L2>L3>L1) toward G-quadruplex that was observed in this study.  相似文献

The detection and disposal of antipersonnel land mines is one of the most difficult and intractable problems faced in ground conflict. This paper presents detection methods which use a separated-aperture microwave sensor and an artificial neural network pattern classifier. Several data-specific preprocessing methods are developed to enhance neural network learning. In addition, a generalized Karhunen-Loeve transform and the eigenspace separation transform are used to perform data reduction and reduce network complexity. Highly favorable results have been obtained using the above methods in conjunction with a feedforward neural network.  相似文献

In this paper, a high-resolution fractional-N RF frequency synthesizer is presented which is controlled by a fourth-order digital sigma-delta modulator. The high resolution allows the synthesizer to be digitally modulated directly at RF. A simplified digital filter which makes use of sigma-delta quantized tap coefficients is included which provides built-in GMSK pulse shaping for data transmission. Quantization of the tap coefficients to single-bit values not only simplifies the filter architecture, but the fourth-order digital sigma-delta modulator as well. The synthesizer makes extensive use of custom VLSI, with only a simple off-chip loop filter and VCO required. The synthesizer operates from a single 3-V supply, and has low power consumption. Phase noise levels are less than -90 dBc/Hz at frequency offsets within the loop bandwidth. Spurious components are less than -90 dBc/Hz over a 19.6-MHz tuning range  相似文献

A low-voltage receiver front-end for 5-GHz radio applications is presented. The receiver consists of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) with notch filter, a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), and a mixer. The LNA/notch filter has an automatic Q-tuning circuit integrated with it to provide good image rejection. On-chip transformers are used extensively in the receiver to improve performance and facilitate low-voltage operation. The receiver has a gain of 19.8 dB, noise figure of 4.5 dB, a third-order input intercept point (IIP3) of -11.5 dBm, and an image rejection of 59 dB, and the VCO had a phase noise of -116 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset.  相似文献

An investigation of coupling between inductors and resonators fabricated in silicon substrates is presented and the effects on RF systems and components are discussed. A novel experimental technique to measure inductor and resonator coupling is presented. The experiment is extremely sensitive, fast, accurate, and unique in that no matching, probe de-embedding, or calibration is necessary as the ratio of two on-chip signals is measured to yield the results.  相似文献

Results of measurements of the room air flow properties in an office space environment (4.74 m × 4.87 m × 2.87 m) with and without partitions (acoustical screens) are presented. The measurements included air flow pattern, air speed, and turbulence intensity. The profiles of the mean speed and the turbulence kinetic energy at the supply air opening are also presented. The data show the effect of using acoustical screens (with various heights and a gap between the floor and the bottom of the screen) on the air flow pattern and the air flow properties within the room. These data are intended for use in the evaluation of the existing numerical and scale models, and to aid in furthering the understanding of the behaviour of room ventilation airflows.  相似文献

Expression of liver-enriched trans-acting hepatocyte nuclear factors 1alpha (HNF1alpha) and 4 (HNF4) is correlated with the hepatic phenotype in cultured rat hepatoma cells. We have used a hepatoma variant cell line, H11, that specifically lacks the HNF4 --> HNF1alpha pathway as a model to understand mechanisms controlling hepatic gene expression. We have introduced randomly marked human chromosomes into H11 cells and have isolated a number of microcell hybrids that have rescued hepatic gene expression, including HNF4, HNF1alpha, and alpha1-antitrypsin. Chromosomal analysis of cell hybrids showed that the rescued hepatic phenotype correlated closely with the presence of human chromosome 12p sequences. Although the gene encoding HNF1alpha is located on chromosome 12q24, its retention was not required to rescue the hepatic phenotype. Thus, we suggest that a locus on human chromosome 12p plays an important role in maintenance of hepatic gene expression through activation of the HNF4 --> HNF1alpha pathway.  相似文献
