The possibilities of using monascus to colour gels were studied by comparing it with cochineal. Gels were prepared with four gelling agents—carrageenan, gellan, gelatine and xanthan—and their colour was measured with a Hunter Lab colorimeter. The equations relating L* and h with the concentrations of sugar [SU] and colorant [COL] were deduced, and it was found that [COL] had more influence on colour than [SU]. In general, for these four gelling agents the colour of monascus gels is orange-red and the colour of cochineal gels is purplish red. The gels made with xanthan were always the lightest, whether they were made with cochineal or with monascus.  相似文献

There has been some degree of success in all‐hexahedral meshing. Standard methods start with the object geometry defined by means of an all‐quadrilateral mesh, followed by the use of the combinatorial dual to the mesh in order to define the internal connectivities among elements. For all of the known methods using the dual concept, it is necessary to first prevent or eliminate self‐intersecting (SI) dual lines of the given quadrilateral mesh. The relevant features of SI lines are studied, giving a method to remove them, which avoids deforming the original geometry. The influence of altered protein binding on the neuromuscular effect of atracurium has been studied in rats with experimental inflammation induced by subcutaneous injection of turpentine oil. Doses of atracurium ranging from 0.45 to 1.5 mg.kg-1 were administered to control (n = 30) and to experimental inflammation induced rats (n = 30). Neuromuscular transmission was monitored by recording the twitch tension of the tibialis-anterior muscle elicited by stimulation of the sciatic nerve. Three effect parameters were recorded: (i) intensity of the effect, measured as percentage depression of baseline twitch tension, (ii) duration of drug action (min) and (iii) recovery time (min). The dose-intensity of the effect relationship was modelled using a sigmoid Emax model. The ED50 (effective dose eliciting 50% of the maximum effect) was significantly increased (P < 0.01) in the inflammation group as compared to the control group (0.94 vs. 0.68 mg.kg-1). This change was reflected in a shift of the dose-response curve to the right in the pretreated rats. For equipotent doses ED95 (defined as the effective dose eliciting 95% of maximum effect), no differences were found in recovery time and duration of action between the two groups of rats. Mucoproteins levels (index of alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (AAG) and protein binding were significantly increased in rats with experimental inflammation as compared to control rats. Based on these results, altered serum protein binding of atracurium appears to be responsible, at least in part, for the resistance to atracurium.  相似文献

A prototype of a digital television terrestrial broadcasting system has been implemented according to the European DVB-T standard. The first step in the construction of this prototype involved parameter optimization via simulation. This paper presents the optimization process of the system parameters and the final achieved BER performance. Important design aspects such as interleaving, convolutional puncturing codes, Viterbi decoding, pilot-based channel correction and optimal pilot power are considered. The DVB-T standard offers some suggested values of the C/N ratio needed to achieve the desired BER requirements in the receiver. However, they have been obtained assuming ideal channel correction and synchronization. Simulation results are provided here in non-ideal conditions  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy of gastric intramucosal pH for the evaluation of tissue perfusion and prediction of hemodynamic complications in critically ill children. DESIGN: Open prospective study without controls. SETTING: Pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) of a tertiary care university pediatric hospital. PATIENTS: Thirty critically ill children (16 boys and 14 girls), age range: 3 months-12 years. MEASUREMENTS AND RESULTS: A tonometry catheter was placed in the stomach of all patients on admission to the pediatric ICU. Simultaneous tonometry and arterial gas measurements were made on admittance and every 6-12 h throughout the study; a total of 202 measurements were made. The catheter was removed after extubation and/or when the patient was hemodynamically stable. Intramucosal pH was calculated using the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation based on the pCO2 of the tonometer and arterial bicarbonate. Intramucosal pH values between 7.30 and 7.45 were considered to be normal. The patient's condition was analyzed using the Pediatric Risk Mortality Score (PRISM). The relations between intramucosal pH and the presence of major hemodynamic complications (cardiopulmonary arrest, shock), minor hemodynamic complications (hypotension, hypovolemia or arrhythmia), death, PRISM score and the duration of the stay in the pediatric ICU were analyzed. Intramucosal pH on admission was 7.48 +/- 0.15 on average (range 7.04-7.68). Five patients (16%) had an intramucosal pH lower than 7.30 on admission; these patients did not have a higher incidence of hemodynamic complications. The 16 patients (53%) who had an intramucosal pH of less than 7.30 at some time during the course of their disease had more hemodynamic complications than the patients who did not have pH lower than 7.30 (p < 0.0001). Every case of cardiopulmonary arrest and shock was related to intramucosal pH of less than 7.30. Patients with major complications (cardiopulmonary arrest and shock) had lower intramucosal pHs than those with minor hemodynamic complications (p = 0.03); similarly, they had low intramucosal pH readings more often than those with minor complications (p = 0.0032). Intramucosal pH values less than 7.30 had a sensitivity of 90% and a specificity of 98% as a predictor of hemodynamic complications. There was no relation between intramucosal pH lower than 7.30 and either PRISM or the duration of the stay in the pediatric ICU. Patients with intramucosal pH less than 7.20 had a higher PRISM than the patients who did not have pH lower than 7.20 (p < 0.05). A patient who died during the study due to cardiopulmonary arrest had prior intramucosal pH measurements of 7.23 and 7.10, and three patients died of late complications after the end of the study. Hemodynamic complications were not detected with arterial pH. Gap pH (arterial pH-intramucosal pH) and standard pH measurements yielded the same results as gastric intramucosal pH. CONCLUSION: Intramucosal pH could provide a useful early indication of hemodynamic complications in critically ill children.  相似文献

The present work studies the surface evolution of cinnabar, when it is leached with HBr acid for different conditions. The dynamicin situ test has been studied by scanning electron microscopy and EDS techniques. According to the acid condition, time, and temperature, the HgS presents different mechanisms of dissolution, and the results prove that the cinnabar does not present “memory effect”, as proposed by other authors.16  相似文献

Social dominance orientation (SDO) has been proposed as an important variable in the explanation of prejudice. We distinguish between three conceptualizations of SDO: SDO as a personality trait (personality model), SDO as a moderator of the effects of situational variables (Person X Situation model), and SDO as a mediator of the effect of social position on prejudice (group socialization model [GSM]). Four studies (N = 1,657) looking at the relations between social positions, SDO, and prejudice in a natural setting and in a laboratory setting provide strong support for the GSM. In contrast to previous correlational findings, there is evidence of a cause (dominant social position), an effect (prejudice increases), and a mediator (SDO).
