The paper proposes a novel metaheuristic based on integrating chaotic maps into a Henry gas solubility optimization algorithm (HGSO). The new algorithm is named chaotic Henry gas solubility optimization (CHGSO). The hybridization is aimed at enhancement of the convergence rate of the original Henry gas solubility optimizer for solving real-life engineering optimization problems. This hybridization provides a problem-independent optimization algorithm. The CHGSO performance is evaluated using various conventional constrained optimization problems, e.g., a welded beam problem and a cantilever beam problem. The performance of the CHGSO is investigated using both the manufacturing and diaphragm spring design problems taken from the automotive industry. The results obtained from using CHGSO for solving the various constrained test problems are compared with a number of established and newly invented metaheuristics, including an artificial bee colony algorithm, an ant colony algorithm, a cuckoo search algorithm, a salp swarm optimization algorithm, a grasshopper optimization algorithm, a mine blast algorithm, an ant lion optimizer, a gravitational search algorithm, a multi-verse optimizer, a Harris hawks optimization algorithm, and the original Henry gas solubility optimization algorithm. The results indicate that with selecting an appropriate chaotic map, the CHGSO is a robust optimization approach for obtaining the optimal variables in mechanical design and manufacturing optimization problems.

A hybrid adaptive optimization algorithm based on integrating grey wolf optimization into adaptive differential evolution with fully stressed design (FSD) local search is presented in this article. Hybrid reproduction and control parameter adaptation strategies are employed to increase the performance of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm, called fully stressed design–grey wolf–adaptive differential evolution (FSD-GWADE), is demonstrated to tackle a variety of truss optimization problems. The problems have mixed continuous/discrete design variables that are assigned as simultaneous topology, shape and sizing design variables. FSD-GWADE provides competitive results and gives superior results at a higher success rate than the previous FSD-based algorithm.  相似文献

This work focused on hydrogen production from the photocatalytic water splitting under visible light irradiation using Eosin Y-sensitized mesoporous-assembled TiO2–SiO2 mixed oxide photocatalysts, of which the mesoporous-assembled TiO2–SiO2 mixed oxides with various TiO2-to-SiO2 molar ratios were synthesized by a sol–gel process with the aid of a structure-directing surfactant. The effects of SiO2 content, calcination temperature, and phase composition of the mixed oxide photocatalysts were investigated. The experimental results showed that the TiO2–SiO2 mixed oxide photocatalyst with the TiO2-to-SiO2 molar ratio of 97:3 and calcined at 500 °C provided the maximum photocatalytic hydrogen production activity. The characterization results supported that the 0.97TiO2–0.03SiO2 mixed oxide photocatalyst (with the suitable SiO2 content of 3 mol%) possessed superior physicochemical properties for the photocatalytic reaction as compared to the pure TiO2, particularly higher specific surface area, lower mean mesopore diameter, higher total pore volume, and lower crystallite size, which led to an enhanced photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Filler–rubber composites were prepared by mixing chloroacetated natural rubber (CNR) with silica, carbon black (CB), or calcium carbonate using a two‐roll mill. The interactions between the CNR and fillers, including silica, carbon black, and calcium carbonate, were characterized based on glass transition temperature (Tg) and shear storage modulus (G′). The results showed that both the Tg and G′ values of the CNR‐Si composite were found to be higher than those of the CNR–CB and CNR–CaCO3 composites, indicating the existence of the CNR and silica interaction. The outstanding direct interaction between the CNR rubber matrix and silica without using a coupling agent was believed to be due to hydrogen bonds that formed between the hydroxyls of the silanol groups of silica and the carbonyls in the chloroacetate groups of CNR molecules. Moreover, it was also found that silica dispersed and distributed in the CNR matrix much better than in the natural rubber matrix. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
