Single-ion-conducting nanocomposite polymer electrolytes based on PEG400 and anionic nanoparticles: Part 2. Electrical characterization

Molecular relaxation and polarization phenomena of twelve single-ion-conducting nanocomposite polymer electrolytes (nCPEs) are studied using Broadband Electrical Spectroscopy (BES). The electrolytes are obtained by combining PEG400 oligomers with increasing amounts of anionic nanofiller comprised of fluorinated-TiO₂ associated with Li⁺ cations (LiFT^®), resulting in [PEG400/(LiFT)_y] systems with 0 ≤ y ≤ 26.4. This new class of [PEG400/(LiFT)_y] electrolytes allows us to achieve a significant single-ion conductivity (1.1·10⁻⁵ S cm⁻¹ at 30 °C for n_Li/n_O = 0.113) without the addition of lithium salts. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest conductivity value reported for this class of electrolytes. This study, in conjunction with the results reported in Part 1, leads us to hypothesize a conduction mechanism in terms of two types of long-range charge-transfer processes. The first charge-transfer occurs at the interface between the filler nanoparticles and filler-PEG domains, while the second occurs through the PEG400 matrix with the assistance of polymer segmental motion. The measured Li⁺ transference numbers confirm that the studied materials are single-ion conductors.

An approach is described in the geometrical method of calibrating vessels in which simulation is applied to examine the metrological characteristics of complicated algorithms for processing measurements.     

Salient Features of Procedures for Geometric Calibration of Large Vertical Cylindrical Tanks

A comparative analysis is made of the standards documents MI 1823–87, GOST 8.570–2000, and ISO 7505 concerning geometric methods of calibrating larger vertical tanks.     

The viral genome status studied under the conditions of a mixed infection in lymphoblastoid cells by adenovirus and the Epstein-Barr virus

Some indices have been studied which characterized the state of Epstein-Barr virus genome and adenovirus in the implanted lines of lymphoblastoid cells of B and T phenotype under the mixed or monoinfection. It has been shown that super infection by type 2 adenovirus rather sharply affects the state of Epstein-Barr virus genome in the Raji cells containing integrated Epstein-Barr virus genome. The state of adenovirus genome in the studied cells is less subject to changes. Its early area is revealed by hybridization using DNA-DNA method in a form of two fragments of different intensity which is maximum in the Raji and Jurkat cells, which evidences for the more expressivity of adenovirus genome in these cells.     

Determination of the Shape of the Ends of Steel Horizontal Cylindrical Tanks from Measurements of Their Geometric Parameters

The algorithm considered here determines the shape of a tank end from the measured values of its perimeter, diameter, and height. The results of calculations reported are used to choose the shape of a real tank end.     

Calculation of the Calibration Characteristics of Inclined Cylindrical Storage Tanks by a Geometric Method

Results are presented from calculations of the calibration characteristics of twenty types of inclined cylindrical tanks with bottoms of different shapes. The tanks are circular or elliptical in cross section.
