A kinetic study of pyrolysis of dried black liquor was performed using a Netzsch 429 Thermogravimetric Analyzer. It was found that as conversion increases from 10 to 45% the apparent pyrolysis activation energy for black liquor increases from 77.20 to 112.74 KJ/mol. For black liquor the order of reaction was found to be first-order. The reaction rate constant was found to be 2.12×109 min. These results are in agreement with the data reported by other investigators on biomass pyrolysis. 相似文献

Applications based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT), such as signal and image processing, require high computational power, plus the ability to experiment with algorithms. Reconfigurable hardware devices in the form of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) have been proposed as a way of obtaining high performance at an economical price. However, users must program FPGAs at a very low level and have a detailed knowledge of the architecture of the device being used. They do not therefore facilitate easy development of, or experimentation with, signal/image processing algorithms. To try to reconcile the dual requirements of high performance and ease of development, the paper reports on the design and realisation of a high level framework for the implementation of 1D and 2D FFTs for real-time applications. A wide range of FFT algorithms, including radix-2, radix-4, split-radix and fast Hartley transform (FHT) have been implemented under a common framework in order to enable system designers to meet different system requirements. Results show that the parallel implementation of 2D FFT achieves linear speed-up and real-time performance for large matrix sizes. Finally, an FPGA-based parametrisable environment based on 2D FFT is presented as a solution for frequency-domain image filtering application. 相似文献

Degradation of 4-chloro-2-methylphenol (PCOC), a refractory toxic chemical emitted to the environment from the industrial production of phenoxy herbicides was studied in aqueous solution. Electro-Fenton and photoelectro-Fenton processes were used as the degradation methods. H2O2, produced by the reduction of oxygen at carbon cathode reacted with dissolved metal ions to form hydroxyl radicals, which in turn reacted with PCOC sequentially to degrade the aromatic ring. The effects of using different [Fe2+]/[PCOC]0 and the effect of replacing Fe2+ by Mn2+ ion have been examined. It was found that degradation rate was increased with increasing [Fe2+]/[PCOC]0 ratio from 2 to 4. However, the total charge utilized during the treatment was also increased. The efficiency of PCOC degradation was observed to be higher when Mn2+ was used as the catalyst. The mineralization of aqueous solutions of PCOC, withdrawn from the reactor at certain time interval, has been followed by total organic carbon (TOC) decay and dechlorination. A fast and complete degradation of the aromatic ring was achieved in photoelectro-Fenton system. 41.7% TOC decay and complete dechlorination were observed by consuming only 141.4 C electrical charge during a 300 min photoelectron-Fenton treatment. In the case of electro-Fenton system, 280.7 C electrical charge was consumed during 450 min of electrolysis to attain a similar degradation of PCOC. 14.9% TOC removal and 89.3% dechlorination have been obtained in this system under the applied conditions. 相似文献

This article reports findings from a study of patterns of foreign authorship of articles, and international composition of
journal editorial boards in five leading journals in the field of information science, and scientometrics. The study covers
an American journal and four European journals. Bibliographic data about foreign authors and their national affiliation from
five selected years of publication were analyzed for all journals. The foreign input of articles were extremely high in Information Processing & Management, and Scientometrics, and were relatively low in the other three journals. The number of foreign countries contributing in all journals have increased
rapidly since 1996. Canada, England, Belgium, Netherlands, China, and Spain were the countries with high contributions in
JASIST. The authors from the USA have dominated the foreign-authored articles in all European journals. A simple linear regression
analysis showed that 60% of variation in the proportion of foreign-authored articles in the set of five journals over the
selected years could be explained by the percentage of foreign members on the editorial boards of the journals.

Herein, electro-responsive hydrogels were obtained by incorporation of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT/PSS) into the gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) by using photopolymerization technique. Hydrogels were characterized by FTIR and scanning electron microscopy analyses. Cytotoxicity tests were performed by L929 cell lines to determine cell compatibility. Swelling tests were conducted to investigate the water uptake capacity of hydrogels. 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) was selected as a model drug as it is known as a topical drug for some skin cancer type treatment. The release of 5-FU from the hydrogel was provided in efficient and controlled manner at simulated skin cancer (pH = 5.5) and under 0 and 1.5 V. The simulated drug delivery experiments conducted in vitro revealed that the drug releasing amount was higher when voltage is applied to the hydrogels. All results visualized that the obtained GelMA-based PEDOT/PSS hydrogels with enhanced electrical properties could be a potential candidate as an electrically sensitive drug carrier for treatment of skin cancer in the future applications. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Black carrots (BCs) are a rich source of stable anthocyanins (ACNs). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of clarification and pasteurisation on ACNs of black carrot juice (BCJ). Monomeric ACNs, ACN profile and percent polymeric colour were determined during processing of BCJ. While depectinisation and bentonite treatments resulted in 7% and 20% increases in monomeric ACN content of BCJ, respectively, gelatine–kieselsol treatment and pasteurisation resulted in 10% and 3–16% reduction. Percent polymeric colour decreased after clarification, but substantially increased in samples subjected to heat. ACNs of BCJ samples were identified by HPLC–MS. Unclarified BCJ contained cyanidin-3-galactoside-xyloside-glucoside-ferulic acid as the major ACN, followed by cyanidin-3-galactoside-xyloside-glucoside-coumaric acid, and cyanidin-3-galactoside-xyloside-glucoside. After depectinisation, two more ACNs (cyanidin-3-galactoside-xyloside and cyanidin-3-galactoside-xyloside-glucoside-sinapic acid) were also identified. A retrospective cross-sectional study is conducted analysing 11,771 traffic accidents reported by the police between January 2008 and December 2013 which are classified into three injury severity categories: fatal, injury, and no injury. Based on this classification, a multinomial logit analysis is performed to determine the risk factors affecting the severity of traffic injuries. The estimation results reveal that the following factors increase the probability of fatal injuries: drivers over the age of 65; primary-educated drivers; single-vehicle accidents; accidents occurring on state routes, highways or provincial roads; and the presence of pedestrian crosswalks. The results also indicate that accidents involving cars or private vehicles or those occurring during the evening peak, under clear weather conditions, on local city streets or in the presence of traffic lights decrease the probability of fatal injuries. This study comprises the most comprehensive database ever created for a Turkish sample. This study is also the first attempt to use an unordered response model to determine risk factors influencing the severity of traffic injuries in Turkey. 相似文献

In this study, the functional monomers, N‐methacryloyl‐l ‐aspartic acid and N‐methacryloyl‐l ‐cysteine were synthesized through a reaction between appropriate amino acids and methacryloyl chloride. Then, Pb(II) or Cd(II) ion‐imprinted 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate based cryogels were prepared by free radical polymerization method under partially frozen conditions. Following the characterization of matrices, adsorption of heavy metal ions was examined in batch mode from aqueous solution considering several parameters affecting the adsorption performance. The actual adsorption capacities were 44.5, 65.3, and 86.7 mg/g for Cd‐1, Cd‐2, and Cd‐3 cryogels meanwhile those were 41.9, 86.3, and 122.7 mg/g for Pb‐1, Pb‐2, and Pb‐3 cryogels, respectively at optimum pH: 5.5. By increasing temperature, adsorption capabilities of both cryogels were inhibited because of the electrostatic nature of coordinated covalent bonds and collapsing of coordination spheres. The adsorption process was very fast, the equilibrium adsorption was achieved in about 60 min, which was directly related to macroporous structure and interconnected flow‐channels of cryogels. Kinetics and adsorption isotherms were also studied. Langmuir isotherms and pseudo‐second order kinetic model were well suited to adsorption data, which also indicated that the process occurred without any diffusion restrictions or steric hindrances. Finally, the competitive adsorption studies were performed using multi‐ion containing synthetic wastewater to show whether the cryogels developed are suitable for specific heavy metal recycling or not. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
