We have measured the thermal conductivity and the heat capacity C of Ti, TiH 0.82 , TiH 1.7 , and TiH 2 at 0.35 K T 4 K. Whereas (TiH 0.82 ) and (TiH 1.7 ) are substantially smaller than (Ti), we find (TiH 2 ) – 3 (Ti). This latter remarkable result may arise from the enhanced electronic density of states — which is shown by the heat capacity data — and from a rather large electronic mean free path in this stoichiometric compound.  相似文献

Motivated by the possibility of modifying energy levels of a molecule without substantially changing its band gap, the impact of gradual fluorination on the optical and structural properties of zinc phthalocyanine (FnZnPc) thin films and the electronic characteristics of FnZnPc/C60 (n = 0, 4, 8, 16) bilayer cells is investigated. UV–vis measurements reveal similar Q‐ and B‐band absorption of FnZnPc thin films with n = 0, 4, 8, whereas for F16ZnPc a different absorption pattern is detected. A correlation between structure and electronic transport is deduced. For F4ZnPc/C60 cells, the enhanced long range order supports fill factors of 55% and an increase of the short circuit current density by 18%, compared to ZnPc/C60. As a parameter being sensitive to the organic/organic interface energetics, the open circuit voltage is analyzed. An enhancement of this quantity by 27% and 50% is detected for F4ZnPc‐ and F8ZnPc‐based devices, respectively, and is attributed to an increase of the quasi‐Fermi level splitting at the donor/acceptor interface. In contrast, for F16ZnPc/C60 a decrease of the open circuit voltage is observed. Complementary photoelectron spectroscopy, external quantum efficiency, and photoluminescence measurements reveal a different working principle, which is ascribed to the particular energy level alignment at the interface of the photoactive materials.  相似文献

Blends of organic electron and hole conductive materials are widely used for ambipolar charge carrier transport and photovoltaic cells. An obvious choice for donor–acceptor blends are organic semiconducting materials in their hydrogenated and fluorinated form, since they combine potentially suitable electronic properties with structural compatibility of the two constituents. This study focuses on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of blends using hydrogenated copper-phthalocyanine (H16CuPc) in combination with its per-fluorinated version (F16CuPc). Using X-ray scattering, scanning force microscopy and optical absorption measurements we show that mixed crystalline films are obtained by co-evaporation of the two materials. Electrical transport measurements reveal a profound reduction of the current for bipolar charge injection in mixed films. We discuss the formation of self-trapped charge transfer excitons as possible explanation for this unexpected behaviour, which impedes the usability of this system in photovoltaic cells.  相似文献

Elliptic differential equations can be discretized with bilinear finite elements. Using sparse grids instead of full grids, the dimension of the finite element space for the 2D problem reduces fromO(N 2) toO (N logN) while the approximation properties are nearly the same for smooth functions. A method is presented which discretizes elliptic differential equations on curvilinear bounded domains with adaptive sparse grids. The grid is generated by a transformation of the domain. This method has the same behaviour of convergence like the sparse grid discretization on the unit square.  相似文献

32 learning disabled and slowly developing readers were assigned to reading instruction programs on context cue use differing only in extent of pupil control over determination of errors. Results indicate no main effect for experimental condition. However, a significant interaction was found between pretreatment Locus of Attribution (Intellectual Achievement Responsibility Scale) and Experimental Condition. Ss high in internal control benefited more under a condition in which they were encouraged to determine the correctness of their responses. Conversely, Ss low in internality benefited more from a condition in which the teacher determined the correctness of their responses. The results suggest that individual differences in locus of attribution may be important determinants of the extent to which learning-disabled and slow readers benefit from different approaches to reading instruction. A new method for computing eigenmodes of a laser resonator by the use of finite element analysis is presented. For this purpose, the scalar wave equation (delta + k2)E(x, y, z) = 0 is transformed into a solvable three-dimensional eigenvalue problem by the separation of the propagation factor exp(-ikz) from the phasor amplitude E(x, y, z) of the time-harmonic electrical field. For standing wave resonators, the beam inside the cavity is represented by a two-wave ansatz. For cavities with parabolic optical elements, the new approach has successfully been verified by the use of the Gaussian mode algorithm. For a diode-pumped solid-state laser with a thermally lensing crystal inside the cavity, the expected deviation between Gaussian approximation and numerical solution could be demonstrated clearly.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Recent studies of growth hormone supplementation in chronic heart failure have been associated with variable results. Acquired abnormalities of biochemical parameters of the growth hormone insulin-like growth factor I axis have been associated with severe chronic heart failure. There are suggestions of an acquired growth hormone resistance with deficient insulin-like growth factor I in some patients. OBJECTIVES: Therefore, we set out to investigate the clinical and functional status and the degree of cytokine and neurohormonal alteration of chronic heart failure patients with deficient insulin-like growth factor I responses. METHODS: Patients with chronic heart failure were divided into two groups according to their insulin-like growth factor I levels (classified according to the manufacturer's assay range in normal controls): low insulin-like growth factor I <104 (n = 20; 89 +/- 9.6 ng/ml), and normal/high >104 ng/ml (n = 32; 169 +/- 52 ng/ml). Between groups there was no difference in age (low versus high: 65.3 +/- 12.1 versus 61.6 +/- 9.1 years, p = 0.21), body mass index, aerobic capacity (peak oxygen consumption: low versus high: 15.5 +/- 5.2 versus 17.3 +/- 6.3 mL/kg/min, p = 0.23), left ventricular ejection fraction, New York Heart Association classification. RESULTS: During quadriceps strength testing, patients with low insulin-like growth factor I had reduced absolute strength (-24%), and strength per unit area muscle (- 14%) than patients with normal/high insulin-like growth factor I. Leg muscle cross-sectional area was lower in the low insulin-like growth factor I group (-12% and -13% for right and left legs, respectively). These alterations were accompanied by increased levels of growth hormone (+145%), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (+46%), cortisol/ dehydroepiandrosterone ratio (+60%), noradrenaline (+49%) and adrenaline (+136%) (all at least p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with low insulin-like growth factor I levels show signs of altered body composition, cytokine and neuroendocrine activation, to a greater extent than patients with normal/high levels.  相似文献
