Structure Determination of Selected Nitro and Sulfonic Acid Substituted 1,2-Naphthoquinone-2-diazides Selected nitro derivatives of 1,2-naphtoquinone-2-diazide 2 and 5 have been synthesized, the position of the NO2-group has been unambigously determined by means of 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectroscopy, and the structure of these compounds has been comprehensively determined in relation to unsubstituted 1 and sulfonic acid substituted derivatives 3 , 3a , 4 and 4a . Furthermore, the spectroscopical behaviour, especially in the uv/vis region, was examined in correlation to quantum chemical calculations.  相似文献

A number of recent studies indicate that nonlinear electroencephalogram (EEG) analyses allow to define a state predictive of an impending epileptic seizure. In this paper, we combine a method for detecting nonlinear determinism with a novel test for stationarity to characterize EEG recordings from both the seizure-free interval and the preseizure phase. We discuss differences between these periods, particularly an increased occurrence of stationary, nonlinear segments prior to seizures. These differences seem most prominent for recording sites within the seizure-generating area and for EEG segments less than one minute's length.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate whether transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can be used for a lateralization of verbal and non-verbal memory functions in candidates for epilepsy surgery by inducing focal, material-specific memory deficits. Twenty patients who underwent presurgical epilepsy evaluation with chronically implanted subdural strip electrodes were submitted to focal TMS over the temporal lobes and the vertex while sequences of items of the Digit Span and the Corsi Block test were presented on a computer screen. TMS was applied synchronously or 200 msec following presentation of each item. The effects of TMS on the memory span and the serial position curve were analysed in comparison to baseline levels. The following results were obtained: the quantitative effects on the verbal (Digit Span) and non-verbal (Corsi Block) memory span were not significant, but there were significant qualitative changes of serial position effects. In the group of six patients with left temporal epilepsy, TMS over the left temporal lobe induced a significant recency effect in the Digit Span test, while TMS over the vertex significantly increased the recency errors. The absolute number of errors remained unchanged. No such effects were observed in the group of nine patients with right temporal lobe epilepsy. These results suggest that in the presence of a left temporal lobe focus TMS can induce qualitative, material specific changes in verbal working memory (phonological loop) which become apparent in the serial position curve. The dissociation of TMS effects for temporal and vertex stimulation imply that TMS can selectively influence specific phonological loop components and that the phonological loop has a functionally and neuroanatomically multimodular structure.  相似文献

 A packaging process for flip-chip LEDs (light emitting diodes) is described. The LEDs are picked and placed on a silicon substrate wafer. After reflow the substrates are individualized. AuSn solder is used for the interconnection. The solder compounds, Au and Sn, are electroplated separately: Sn on the silicon substrate and Au on the chip. The interconnections formed by tin-rich and by gold-rich intermetallic phases are compared. The metallurgy and the reliability of the LEDs are investigated. It is still a matter of debate at which time point faces are recognized as familiar, with some studies claiming a relatively early face recognition and others later effects of familiarity. The authors report on effects of famousness of depicted persons and stimulus repetition on intracranially recorded event-related potentials. Famousness resulted in an increased latency of the N200 component, as well as in an increased amplitude of a later long-lasting potential (N700). In contrast, repetition led to an increased amplitude of the N200 but no increase of its latency. They suppose that the recognition of faces becomes observable within the N200 latency range and that the increased N200 latency reflects a feature processing additional to the holistic face processing. Crowding of Culex sitiens Wiedemann larvae was investigated to determine whether pupation was delayed by the presence of chemical factors in the water or by mechanical interference. As the larval density increased from 0.05 to 1.0 larvae per milliliter of water, the duration of larval development increased from 7.5 to 23.0 d and larvae mortality increased from 1.7 to 99.6%. At high larval densities (2 larvae per milliliter), the larvae did not pupate, but remained alive as 4th instars for at least 50 d, even after their abundance subsequently declined due to mortality. When not crowded, 80% of the larvae fed at the surface; the remainder fed mainly on the bottom (even at a depth of 35 cm). Removal of chemical retardants by changing the water daily increased pupation to 65% (compared with 4% in controls, in which the water was not changed), but this was less than the effect of reducing mechanical interference by increasing the surface area, which increased pupation to 98%. Therefore, the main density-dependent factor was mechanical interference during feeding, but prolonged development to 19 d showed that chemical retardants also were important. The chemical retardant was not stable, so that 2nd generation larvae reared in the same water were unaffected, but its effect was irreversible, because most crowded larvae moved to clean water and a lower density did not pupate.  相似文献

The strong hepatic estrogenic actions of ethinylestradiol (EE) are very likely to be the cause of the cardiovascular morbidity related to the use of combined oral contraceptives (COCs). This survey presents results of EE replacement in COCs with natural 17beta-estradiol (E2) in the following stages: reduction of EE to daily doses of 0.01 mg and concomitant replacement with E2 (as valerate, EV), complete replacement of EE with E2 using a novel multiphasic combination containing EV and the progestin dienogest (DNG), and the use of natural E2 to develop estrogen sulfamates (J 995) showing sufficient dissociation of uterine from liver estrogenicity. Recent data from preclinical and clinical studies show that these approaches seem to be promising.  相似文献

The United States Bureau of Mines continued research on the preparation of titanium nitride powder for potential use as a substitute for imported tungsten used in metal cutting tools and wear-resistant applications. Major emphasis was directed toward improving the purity of the powder produced by vapor-phase reaction of titanium tetrachloride with magnesium in the presence of nitrogen or anhydrous ammonia at 1000 °C. Modifications were made in powder collection, handling, and purification procedures that significantly reduced the oxygen content of the product from > >5 wt pct to <<1 wt pct oxygen. Powder samples contained oxygen contents as low as 0.23 wt pct and exhibited a median particle size of 0.28 micrometer.  相似文献

For a stable operation of exothermic processes in bubble column reactors, an appropriate heat control is required, e.g., through dense internal tube bundle heat exchangers. Their impact on hydrodynamic characteristics and scaling approaches is studied for columns of different scales. Two different column dimensions (DN100 and DN400) were equipped with two common tube patterns of triangular and square pitches to study local fluid dynamics. Based on geometrical tube bundle scaling quantities, hydrodynamic similarity as a scale‐up criterion with respect to average holdups, phase distributions, and local gas structures can be reached.  相似文献

cAMP levels in GH3gsp cells (Q227L mutation of Gs alpha), in comparison with uninfected GH3 and GH3vt (with vector alone) cells, were two to three fold (P< 0.01) higher (basal), and 10-20 fold (P<0.001) higher (in the presence of isobutyl methylxanthine, (IBMX)). Proliferation of GH3gsp cells after 7 days in culture, as determined by cell number and [(3)H]thymidine incorporation, were up to 25% (respectively P <0.001 and P < 0.02) higher. After chronic (4 days) but not acute (15 min) exposure to forskolin (10 microM) or dibutyryl cAMP (50 microM) all cell types showed a greater than 200% (P < 0.001) increase in [(3)H]thymidine incorporation. Secretion of prolactin and growth hormone by GH3gsp cells were two to four fold (P <0.001) higher than GH3 and GH3vt cells after 4 h and 10-12 fold (P <0.001) higher after 8 h. In conclusion GH3 cells possessing Q227L have a higher proliferation rate and secrete higher levels of prolactin and growth hormone which are associated with higher levels of cAMP.  相似文献
