As a refractory gold mineral, pyrite needs to be oxidised prior to gold leaching. In this study, the effect of [Cl?] concentration (40.6–149.8?g/L), [Cu2+] concentration (0.8–31.6?g/L), pH (1.5–2.5) and temperature (25–90 –C) on the pyrite leaching rate was investigated. In addition, the open circuit potential (OCP) values of pyrite in cupric chloride solution were investigated. A linear regression model was constructed to predict pyrite dissolution rate i.e. corrosion current density. It was shown that the temperature had a significant positive effect on pyrite dissolution, while increased cupric ion concentration was also shown to provide some dissolution enhancement. According to the regression analysis, pH had no effect on the corrosion current density at OCP. Dissolution rates of pyrite varied between 0.05 and 2.9?µm/h. The activation energy values varied from 20 to 90?kJ/mol, indicated that the pyrite dissolution reaction rate was controlled by the chemical reaction or mixed mechanism rather than diffusion alone. The simultaneous increase in corrosion potential and corrosion current density indicated that the anodic pyrite dissolution reaction was rate determining at OCP.  相似文献

Response surface methodology was employed to study the influence of four recipe variables (wheat: rye flour ratio, bread acidity, ash content of rye flour and sodium chloride content) on the identity and overall acceptance of two rye bread types (soft and crisp rye bread). The subjects ( n = 79) rated attribute intensities, the extent to which the salient sensory properties and the overall sample corresponded to their expectations of rye bread, and the overall acceptance (pleasantness and purchase intentions). The acidity and ash content contributed the most to the extent to which a sample met subjects' expectations. The NaCl content was not critical. Consumer acceptance was affected by ash content, and by the interactions, NaCl content × acidity and wheat:rye ratio × ash content. The non-significance of NaCl content should encourage the baking industry to put low-salt rye products on the market.  相似文献

Trametes versicolor laccase papers were prepared, and their suitability was tested for anticounterfeiting and oxygen indicator concepts in packaging applications. Laccase was coated and printed onto paper with a flexographic ink base, a sulfo polyester resin, Hydro‐Rez 1100D (HZ1100D). Laccase remains active on paper with flexographic ink HZ1100D after printing with flexographic press. Colour change of papers was observed when 2,2‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) solution was applied to the paper. A strong colour change to dark green was obtained on the papers prepared by coating or printing of laccase with HZ1100D onto EUCA paper. EUCA paper appeared to be well suited for laccase‐based indicator applications because it remained rough even after ink deposition, allowing rapid absorption of ABTS solution. Finally, the indicators demonstrated to work as oxygen indicators in a package. Indicator colour was changed when oxygen was leaked to the package. As a conclusion, the laccase papers described here would be well suited for various indicator applications and could be produced using flexographic printing, allowing large scale manufacturing. STUDY DESIGN: Case report of a fatal complication of pedicle screw instrumentation and review of the literature. OBJECTIVE: To describe the clinical and postmortem findings in a 35-year-old man who sustained a T11 burst fracture that was managed by transpedicular posterior instrumentation and who died 12 days after surgery of cardiac tamponade caused by a prick injury of the right coronary artery. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Posterior pedicle screw instrumentation is considered a safe and effective method for stabilizing a spinal motion segment. Nevertheless, there are several rare but significant complications that may occur. This is the first report of a heart tamponade after transpedicular screw insertion. METHODS: A 35-year-old man was treated for a T11 burst fracture with posterior transpedicular stabilization. The surgery was uncomplicated. RESULTS: Twelve days after the intervention, the patient died of cardiogenic shock. Postmortem examination showed a heart tamponade of 350 mL blood originating in a prick injury of the right coronary artery. Histologic findings showed evidence that the injury was caused during surgery by a Kirschner wire. CONCLUSION: There are numerous possible intraoperative complications in posterior pedicle screw fixation, such as nerve root and spinal cord injuries. This case of a fatal heart tamponade after transpedicular screw insertion is rare. It shows that the surgeon must be aware of potential risks associated with such a procedure and have a comprehensive three-dimensional understanding of the anatomic structures involved.  相似文献

A novel computer-assisted injection device for the delivery of highly viscous bone cements in vertebroplasty is presented. It addresses the shortcomings of manual injection systems ranging from low-pressure and poor level of control to device failure. The presented instrument is capable of generating a maximum pressure of 5000 kPa in traditional 6-ml syringes and provides an advanced control interface for precise cement delivery from outside radiation fields emitted by intraoperative imaging systems. The integrated real-time monitoring of injection parameters, such as flow-rate, volume, pressure, and viscosity, simplifies consistent documentation of interventions and establishes a basis for the identification of safe injection protocols on the longer term. Control algorithms prevent device failure due to overloading and provide means to immediately stop cement flow to avoid leakage into adjacent tissues.  相似文献

A neonate presented with atrial flutter complicating acute Coxsackie B2 myocarditis. The tachyarrhythmia was successfully terminated with electrocardioversion followed by digoxin administration. The infant survived with no long-term cardiac sequelae. Atrial flutter is an unusual complication of Coxsackie myocarditis that has not previously been reported.  相似文献

Time is an essential concept in cultural heritage applications. Instances of temporal concepts such as time intervals are used for the annotation of cultural objects and also for querying datasets containing information about these objects. Hence it is important to match query and annotation intervals by examining their similarity or closeness. One of the problems is that in many cases time intervals are imprecise. For example, the boundaries of the “Pre-Roman age” and the “Roman age” are inherently imprecise and it may be difficult to distinguish them with clear-cut intervals. In this paper we apply the fuzzy set theory to model imprecise time intervals in order to determine relevance of the relationship between two time intervals. We present a method for matching query and annotation intervals based on their weighted mutual overlapping and closeness. We present (1) methods for calculating these weights to produce a combined measure and (2) results of comparing the combined measure with human evaluators as a case study. The case study takes into consideration archaeological temporal information, which is in most cases inherently fuzzy, and therefore offers a particularly complex and challenging scenario. The results show that our new combined measure that utilizes different weighted measures together in rankings, performs the best in terms of precision and recall. It should be used when ranking annotation intervals according to a given query interval in cultural heritage information retrieval. Our approach intends to be generalizable: overlapping and closeness may be calculated between any two fuzzy temporal intervals. The presented procedure of using user evaluation results as a basis for assigning weights for overlapping and closeness could potentially be used to reveal weights in other domains and purposes as well.  相似文献

Printed electronics, the manufacturing of electronic components on large, flexible, and low-cost substrates by printing techniques, can facilitate widespread, very low-cost electronics for consumer applications and disposable devices. New technologies are needed to create functional components in this field. This paper introduces a new method to create an all-additive printed switch on flexible substrate materials, such as polymer foils and paper substrates. The active layer of the switch component consists of neutral polyaniline (PANI), which can be doped by acid to induce a shift from a non-conductive to a conductive oxidation state. Monodisperse core–shell microcapsules containing an acidic aqueous core liquid were produced by a novel inkjet-based encapsulation technology. It was shown that unfavorable water evaporation from the microcapsules could be reduced by the addition of calcium chloride to the core liquid. A switch component was prepared, consisting of inkjet-printed interdigitated silver electrodes, PANI active layer and printed microcapsules. If an external pressure was applied, for instance with a finger, then the switch component changed its state from non-conductive to conductive with a simultaneous distinct color change. The results clearly demonstrate the feasibility of the presented approach to create either a visual or electronic signal for use in printed electronic applications.  相似文献

The effects of glycine betaine dip, packaging method, and storage time on the sensory quality of shredded Iceberg lettuce were first modeled using a statistical experimental design, followed by a second storage test verifying the effect of the glycine betaine treatment. Shredded lettuce was dipped in 0 to 100 mg/liter active chlorine solution and then in 0 to 1.0 mol/liter glycine betaine solution, packed in 25 microm oriented polypropylene film, 250 g per package, and stored at 5 degrees C for 8 days. Models with good predictability were created suggesting that the glycine betaine dip helped retain sensory quality, especially appearance (P < 0.05). The models also suggested that washing periods over 60 s were not needed and that the microperforation of packages should not exceed 0.31 mm2 per package. The modeled positive effect on sensory quality was verified in the second storage test (P < 0.05). The optimum glycine betaine concentration was 0.2 mol/liter. Chlorination of the first dip particularly retained appearance of packed lettuce.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To measure leptin, insulin and cholecystokinin (CCK) concentrations in obese women on calorie restriction and to determine their correlation with hunger-satiety ratings. Although it has been proposed to play a role in appetite regulation, the effects of physiological concentrations of these hormones on hunger-satiety in humans have not yet been well established. DESIGN: Prospective metabolic study. A two week 'wash-in period' followed by a three-week observation period, during which each subject underwent six measurements of satiety, blood parameters and body weight. SETTING: Energy Metabolism Research Unit, Department of Nutrition Sciences, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, Alabama, USA. SUBJECTS: 22 moderately to severely overweight women (mean age: 45 +/- 8 y; body mass index (BMI): 33 +/- 6 kg/m2). INTERVENTION: Energy restriction, in the form of a 3.3 MJ (800 kcal) diet during five weeks. MAIN OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS: Fasting blood levels of leptin, insulin, glucose and CCK, fasting hunger-satiety scores and body weight. RESULTS: The mean (+/- s.d.) fasting serum leptin concentration at the beginning of the observation period was 26.1 +/- 15.9 ng/ml (range: 6.7-59.8 ng/ml). Leptin concentrations correlated positively with body weight (P < 0.0001). Furthermore, reductions in body weight were associated with decreases in fasting leptin levels (P = 0.002). Leptin concentrations correlated with serum levels of insulin (P = 0.0001) and CCK (P = 0.06), but in multivariate analysis including insulin, CCK and glucose, only leptin had a significant relationship with satiety (P = 0.04). This relationship was linear. CONCLUSIONS: These results confirm the association between leptin levels, body weight and serum insulin. We also showed that higher serum leptin levels correlated with greater feelings of fullness, a relationship which was not blunted in the more obese subjects. These findings suggest that leptin is a satiety hormone that reduces appetite, even in obese individuals, and that weight gain must be due to other factors, overriding this feed-back regulation.  相似文献
