The formation of Annexin-A5 decorated (bio-functionalized) nanoparticles is of particular interest in micelle-mediated target drug delivery, in vivo magnetic resonance imaging, and controlled fabrication of biochips. This work describes an easy access to the synthesis and manipulation of block copolymer nano-objects exhibiting Annexin-A5 protein binding ability. Well-defined spherical micelles containing negatively charged phosphonic diacid groups – which are potential binding sites for Annexin-A5 proteins – at their hydrophilic periphery originate from the self-assembly of polystyrene-b-poly(2-phosphatethyl methacrylate-stat-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PS-b-P(PEMA-stat-HEMA)) amphiphilic macromolecules in aqueous media. PS-b-P(PEMA-stat-HEMA) can be prepared in a three-step phosphorylation/silylation/methanolysis procedure applied to PS-b-PHEMA precursors synthesized via Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP). The herein discussed approach allows precise control over micellar dimensions and properties such as core radius (i.e., loading capacity), corona width, and density of phosphate groups at the micelle periphery. 相似文献

Iodoperfluooralkylation of terminal alkenes and alkynes is effectively photo‐promoted by benzophenone 2 (BP) or the photoreducible copper(II) complex 1 . In particular, BP at 1 mol% in methanol upon 365 nm irradiation with a low‐pressure mercury lamp (type TLC=thin layer chromatography, 6 W) results in a fast reaction with excellent reaction yields. Complex 1 and BP 2 exhibited very similar reactivity, suggesting that the reactions involving 1 are likely to be governed by the benzophenone photoactivation processes, rather than copper(I)/(II) redox processes. Mechanistic investigations using transient absorption spectroscopy revealed that a deactivation pathway of the benzophenone triplet (3BP*) is via its reaction with the methanol solvent. We propose that the generated radicals, in particular .CH2OH, play a key role in the initiation step forming Rf. by reacting with RfI, Rf. then entering a radical chain cycle. 1H NMR studies provided evidence that a substantial amount (∼7% NMR yield) of the hemiacetal CH3OCH2OH is formed, i.e., the possible by‐product of the reaction between .CH2OH and RfI. Finally, DFT calculations indicate that a triplet‐triplet energy transfer (TTET) process from 3BP* to perfluorooctyl iodide (C8F17I) is unlikely or should be rather slow under the reaction conditions, consistent with the transient absorption studies.

In this paper we investigated the fatigue damage of a unidirectional flax-reinforced epoxy composite using infrared (IR) thermography. Two configurations of flax/epoxy composites layup were studied namely, [0]16 unidirectional ply orientation and [±45]16. The high cycle fatigue strength was determined using a thermographic criterion developed in a previous study. The fatigue limit obtained by the thermographic criterion was confirmed by the results obtained through conventional experimental methods (i.e., Stress level versus Number of cycles to failure). Furthermore, a model for predicting the fatigue life using the IR thermography was evaluated. The model was found to have a good predictive value for the fatigue life. In order to investigate the mechanism of damage initiation in flax/epoxy composites and the damage evolution, during each fatigue test we monitored the crack propagation for a stress level and at different damage stages, a direct correlation between the percentage of cracks and the mean strain was observed. 相似文献

AbstractA finite element (FE) model for exit-ply delamination during drilling carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) laminates is presented. The current FE model is developed to predict critical thrust force at the onset of delamination for 1 and 2 plies under the twist drill for various cutting temperatures. The interface behavior for delamination onset is modeled using surface based cohesive zone model (CZM). The numerical predictions for critical thrust force are compared with experimental thrust forces for various number of plies under the twist drill over a range of cutting temperature. Thrust force predictions were found to match with experimental data. 相似文献

Many real-life critical systems are described with large models and exhibit both probabilistic and non-deterministic behaviour. Verification of such systems requires techniques to avoid the state space explosion problem. Symbolic model checking and compositional verification such as assume-guarantee reasoning are two promising techniques to overcome this barrier. In this paper, we propose a probabilistic symbolic compositional verification approach (PSCV) to verify probabilistic systems where each component is a Markov decision process (MDP). PSCV starts by encoding implicitly the system components using compact data structures. To establish the symbolic compositional verification process, we propose a sound and complete symbolic assume-guarantee reasoning rule. To attain completeness of the symbolic assume-guarantee reasoning rule, we propose to model assumptions using interval MDP. In addition, we give a symbolic MTBDD-learning algorithm to generate automatically the symbolic assumptions. Moreover, we propose to use causality to generate small counterexamples in order to refine the conjecture assumptions. Experimental results suggest promising outlooks for our probabilistic symbolic compositional approach. 相似文献

It is discovered that the memory‐type behaviors of novel carbohydrate‐block ‐polyisoprene (MH‐b ‐PI) block copolymers‐based devices, including write‐once‐read‐many‐times, Flash, and dynamic‐random‐access‐memory, can be easily controlled by the self‐assembly nanostructures (vertical cylinder, horizontal cylinder, and order‐packed sphere), in which the MH and PI blocks, respectively, provide the charge‐trapping and stretchable function. With increasing the flexible PI block length, the stretchability of the designed copolymers can be significantly improved up to 100% without forming cracks. Thus, intrinsically stretchable resistive memory devices (polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)/carbon nanotubes(CNTs)/MH‐b ‐PI thin film/Al) using the MH‐b ‐PI thin film as an active layer is successfully fabricated and that using the MH‐b ‐PI12.6k under 100% strain exhibits an excellent ON/OFF current ratio of over 106 (reading at ?1 V) with stable V set around ?2 V. Furthermore, the endurance characteristics can be maintained over 500 cycles upon 40% strain. This work establishes and represents a novel avenue for the design of green carbohydrate‐derived and stretchable memory materials. 相似文献
