Life Calculations for Header – PGV-1000 Steam Generator Connector Weld Joints under NPP Service Conditions

The procedure for calculating the life of header – steam generator connector weld joints is proposed. It allows for running out the material plasticity reserve upon static cyclic elastoplastic loading as well as operating conditions, local stress concentrations, and residual stresses after welding.

Effect of prolonged high-temperature loading on the structure of the KhN65VMTYu alloy

A complex analysis of changes in the structure and in the phase composition arising as a result of both a prolonged operation of articles made of the alloy KhN65VMTYu (EI893) and after conducting imitation tests of model samples. The tests for long-term strength using samples cut out from the body of a large-dimension turbine blade which was exploited for 63 622 h showed that the blade preserved a significant residual reserve of service life (at 750°C and 250 MPa, the time to failure is 4243.5 h).     

Connection between the supermolecular structure of viscose with characteristics of the cellulose and with the properties of fibres and films obtained

Conclusions -- The supermolecular structure of spinning solutions from viscose manufacturing operations in the Balakovskii Khimvolokno PO has been studied by the turbidity spectrum method.-- Multiple and paired correlation equations have been obtained for the parameters of viscose supermolecular structure and the characteristics of the cellulose and the physicomechanical characteristics of hydrocellulose fibres and films.Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 5, pp. 42–45, September–October, 1991.     

Separation of stearox-6 from aqueous media by the use of hollow-fiber ultrafilters

Spinodal decomposition of the nonstoichiometric YBa2Cu3O7−δ compound at room temperature

Electron and polarized-light optical microscopy have been used to study the spinodal decomposition of the YBa₂Cu₃O_7?δ compound depending on the oxygen content. Experimental data reported indicate that whatever the state —initial or preliminarily aged at a high temperature—of the YBa₂Cu₃O_7?δ (δ ≈ 0.2 and 0.4) nonstoichiometric oxide, it undergoes natural aging typical of metallic alloys.     

Phenomenon of structural recovery in nonstoichiometric compounds YBa2Cu3O7−δ and EuBa2Cu3O6.8

Experimental results are presented on the phenomenon of recovery (characteristic of aging metallic alloys) in single crystals of nonstoichiometric oxides YBa₂Cu₃O_～6.6 and EuBa₂Cu₃O_～6.8. After single low-temperature and high-temperature annealings (200 and 300°C), all signs of spinodal decomposition in these single crystals were found; after double heat treatment (200°C + 300°C), the restoration of structure inherent in the initial state (antiphase domains of twin orientation) occurred.     

Numerical modeling of a pinch in a vacuum diode with laser ignition

The present paper is concerned with the mathematical model and methods of numerical analysis of processes in plasma created in a vacuum chamber by means of a discharge initiated on a cathode by a pulsed laser. The model is capable of describing in a two-dimensional approximation the formation of a plume’ of laser plasma and the magneto-hydrodynamic effects (pinching, etc.) due to the current in the plasma. The results of the first numerical experiments with this model are presented.
