2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline is an aroma compound that gives aromatic rice its characteristic flavor. This compound either is present naturally in various food sources or is generated during certain processing methods, as reported in a number of studies. This review focuses on several sources of 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, including aromatic rice, and the factors, including chemical and genetic parameters, affecting the formation of 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline. Extensive work has been conducted on the agricultural parameters, postharvest processing, storage, and cooking methods, influencing the concentrations of 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline in different food commodities. This article is an attempt to emphasize the importance of this compound in the food industry as a major aroma compound.  相似文献

In the present satellite era, remote-sensing data are more useful to improve the initial condition of the model and hence the forecast of tropical cyclones (TCs) when they are in the deep oceans, where conventional observations are unavailable. In this study, an attempt is made to assess the impact of remotely sensed satellite-derived winds on initialization and simulation of TCs over the North Indian Ocean (NIO). For this purpose, four TCs, namely, ‘Nargis’, ‘Gonu’, ‘Sidr’ and ‘KhaiMuk’, are considered, with 13 different initial conditions. Two sets of numerical experiments, with and without satellite-derived wind data assimilation, are conducted using a high-resolution weather research and forecasting (WRF) model.

The inclusion of satellite-derived winds through a three-dimensional variational (3DVAR) data assimilation system improves the initial position in 11 cases out of 13 by 34%. The 24-, 48-, 72- and 96-hour mean track forecast improves by 28%, 15%, 41% and 47%, respectively, based on 13 cases. The landfall prediction is significantly improved in 11 cases by about 37%. The intensity prediction also improves by 10–20%. Kinematic and thermodynamic structures of TCs are also better explained, as it could simulate heat and momentum exchange between sea surface and upper air. Due to better simulation of structure, intensity and track, the 24-hour accumulated rainfall intensity and distribution are also well predicted with the assimilation of satellite-derived winds.  相似文献

Series capacitor protected by metal-oxide varistor and air-gap arrangement imposes problems to line protection and other online decisions. Discrete wavelet transform integrated with a fuzzy logic system is designed for fault classification of a transmission line possessing a series capacitor at the midpoint. The approach uses information obtained from the wavelet decomposition of current signals for faulty phase selection and section identification. Abstract: Blueberry is one of the most popular fruits in North America and rich in anthocyanins. Its content in anthocyanins contributes to the health‐beneficial effects of blueberry against several chronic diseases including cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, and cancer. This paper summarizes various facts presenting blueberry as a fruit with huge potential for increased future consumption as a health‐enhancing food. Factors affecting the biosynthesis of the various anthocyanins in blueberries, including agronomic and genetic factors, and the possible pathways of biosynthesis of the major anthocyanins present in this plant are discussed. The important health‐beneficial effects associated with blueberry anthocyanins, properties of these anthocyanins leading to the beneficial effects, and food processing parameters leading to the depletion of the amounts of anthocyanins present in the final processed products are also briefly discussed. Furthermore, the general methods of extraction and analyses that have been reported for being successfully applied to blueberry anthocyanins are also reviewed. Practical Application: Blueberries are well known for their nutritional and beneficial health effects, however, information concerning the physiology behind the blueberry beneficial effects is still lacking. There is little or no information on the characterization of growing conditions on anthocyanins in blueberries and research is lagging behind on advanced methods of extracting blueberry anthocyanins.  相似文献

This paper suggests a combined novel control strategy for DFIG based wind power systems (WPS) under both nonlinear and unbalanced load conditions. The combined control approach is designed by coordinating the machine side converter (MSC) and the load side converter (LSC) control approaches. The proposed MSC control approach is designed by using a model predictive control (MPC) approach to generate appropriate real and reactive power. The MSC controller selects an appropriate rotor voltage vector by using a minimized optimization cost function for the converter operation. It shows its superiority by eliminating the requirement of transformation, switching table, and the PWM techniques. The proposed MSC reduces the cost, complexity, and computational burden of the WPS. On the other hand, the LSC control approach is designed by using a mathematical morphological technique (MMT) for appropriate DC component extraction. Due to the appropriate DC-component extraction, the WPS can compensate the harmonics during both steady and dynamic states. Further, the LSC controller also provides active power filter operation even under the shutdown of WPS condition. To verify the applicability of coordinated control operation, the WPS-based microgrid system is tested under various test conditions. The proposed WPS is designed by using a MATLAB/Simulink software.  相似文献

This paper presents a combined control and modulation technique to enhance the power quality (PQ) and power reliability (PR) of a hybrid energy system (HES) through a single-phase 11-level cascaded H-bridge inverter (11-CHBI). The controller and inverter specifically regulate the HES and meet the load demand. To track optimum power, a Modified Perturb and Observe (MP&O) technique is used for HES. Ultra-capacitor (UCAP) based energy storage device and a novel current control strategy are proposed to provide additional active power support during both voltage sag and swell conditions. For an improved PQ and PR, a two-way current control strategy such as the main controller (MC) and auxiliary controller (AC) is suggested for the 11-CHBI operation. MC is used to regulate the active current component through the fuzzy controller (FC), and AC is used to regulate the dc-link voltage of CHBI through a neural network-based PI controller (ANN-PI). By tracking the reference signals from MC and AC, a novel hybrid pulse width modulation (HPWM) technique is proposed for the 11-CHBI operation. To justify and analyze the MATLAB/Simulink software-based designed model, the robust controller performance is tested through numerous steady-state and dynamic state case studies.  相似文献

The effect of doped-ZnO transparent conductive oxide (TCO) with metal (Ag)-fingers contact on GaN/InGaN solar cell is investigated through numerical simulations. An optical and electrical analysis of different dopant elements (such as B, Al, Ga, In and Sn) with ZnO as a top TCO layer is studied. A comparative analysis of metal square pad electrode, metal grid pattern electrode and metal-finger/ZnO type electrodes are taken into consideration to ensure the effect of anti-reflectivity by ZnO. The effect of thickness of ZnO and i-InGaN layer on performance of solar cell is also studied in detail. The proposed solar cell structure with Ag-fingers/ZnO:Al as top contact electrode shows interesting device characteristics compared to other dopants and metal top electrodes. The device achieves open circuit voltage~2.525 V, short circuit current~4.256 mA/cm2, fill factor~87.86% and efficiency~9.22% under 1 Sun, air mass 1.5 global illumination.  相似文献

Soy protein concentrate, a potential alternative of petrochemical-based polymers, has been cross-linked with furfural and formaldehyde at 1, 2.5, 5, and 7.5% (w/w concentration). A comparative study of the physicochemical, spectral, thermal, mechanical, and biodegradable properties has been discussed in detail. The degradation pattern of the cross-linked product has been monitored by the TGA method. A computerized LOTUS package method developed by us has been used for evaluating kinetic parameters. Differential scanning calorimetric showed the melting and glass transition temperatures. The biodegradability of the cross-linked products has also been reported. The detailed comparative study indicates that furfural is a better cross-linking reagent than formaldehyde.  相似文献
