The fracture toughness testing of short fibre reinforced thermoplastic materials were performed. Materials tested were the polyimide resin and also that reinforced with 20 wt% or 30 wt% short carbon fibre. For introducing the initial crack, the tapping method, the sliding method and the bridge indentation method were examined. Among them, the sliding method was found to be effective for every case. The fracture tests were conducted by the three-point bending test with several loading rates. Stable crack growth was observed for the neat material while unstable fracture occurred for the reinforced materials. The critical values of the stress intensity factor at crack initiation were greater for the reinforced materials than for the neat resin. The fracture toughness of the 30 wt% reinforced material was independent of loading rate while that of 20 wt% reinforced material increased with loading rate. In order to investigate the fracture mechanisms, fractographic observations were also performed.  相似文献

Summary Well-defined living polymers of isobutyl vinyl ether were obtained in the polymerization initiated with ethylaluminum dichloride (EtAlCl2) in conjunction with a stoichiometric excess of dioxane (5–10 vol%) in n-hexane at 0°C. Under these conditions, the number-average molecular weight of the polymers increased in direct proportion to monomer conversion, while the molecular weight distribution stayed narrow (Mw/Mn = 1.1–1.25). In sharp contrast, the EtAlCl2-initiated polymerization in the absence of dioxane led to non-living polymers with a broad molecular weight distribution. It was concluded that the propagating carbocation is stabilized not by the counteranion but by an externally added basic compound (dioxane) that strongly interacts with the active end.  相似文献

Summary Liquid crystalline side-chain polysiloxanes were prepared without metal complex catalyst. Mesogenic groups such as cholesteryl, 4-cyano-4-biphenyl and 4-methoxy-4-biphenyl group were introduced into polysiloxane by esterification and from DSC measurements they were compatible with other liquid crystalline polysiloxanes reported previously.  相似文献

Biofuel cells (BFCs) that produce electrical energy from organic resources through enzymatic reactions have been attracting significant attention. Owing to the high electrical conductivity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), their modification on the electrode surface of a BFC is expected to increase the current, and their high specific surface area may be useful in increasing the power output. Previously, we constructed a biocathode by immobilizing multicopper oxidase from Pyrobaculum aerophilum (McoP) with a carbon nanotube binding peptide (CBP) sequence on the CNTs. This resulted in higher current densities than when using enzymes without CBP sequences. However, owing to the randomly stacked CNTs on the surface of the electrodes, their conductive properties were impaired and performance as biocathodes was poor. Herein, we constructed a biocathode in which single-walled CNTs (SWCNTs) were oriented one-dimensionally and McoP is immobilized on the surface of an SWNCT via CBP. The current density was successfully increased by two-fold by orienting the CNTs and orienting and immobilizing McoP on their surfaces. This technology provides insights into the development of biodevices with controlled orientation of both the SWCNTs and enzymes immobilized on their surfaces.  相似文献

Abstract— To understand actual viewing conditions at home is important for TV design. And the preferred luminance level of LCD TVs under actual viewing conditions is also important in order to obtain both good picture quality and low power consumption. The actual viewing conditions of households and the preferred luminance levels was investigated. In a field test of 83 households, the display luminance, screen illuminance, and viewing locations were measured on site. In laboratory experiments, young and elderly subjects adjusted the luminance of an LCD‐TV screen to their preferred levels under different screen illuminance levels, angular screen sizes, and average luminance levels (ALL) of the images. As a result, two equations, which represent the preferred luminance level of LCD‐TV screens corresponding to different viewing conditions for young and elderly subjects were obtained. When the ALL of the images was 25% and the screen illuminance and angular screen size were set at 100 lx and 20°, respectively, the preferred luminance was 1 60 cd/m2 for the young subjects and 248 cd/m2 for the elderly subjects. By using the setting of the preferred luminance of an LCD TV under actual viewing conditions, it is possible to conserve energy consumption.  相似文献

In this study, we fabricated multilayer ceramics (MLCs) composed of multilayered Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) piezoelectric thin films with internal electrodes and evaluated their dielectric and piezoelectric properties. The stack of PZT ferroelectric layers (550 nm) and SrRuO3 (SRO, 80 nm) electrodes were alternatively deposited on Pt/Ti-coated silicon-on-insulator substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. The MLCs composed of one, three, and five PZT layers were fabricated by the alternate sputtering deposition of PZT ferroelectric layers and SRO electrodes through the movable shadow mask. The capacitances of MLCs were proportionally increased with the number of PZT layers, while their relative dielectric constants were almost same among the each MLC. The MLCs exhibited symmetric and saturated PE hysteresis loops similar to the conventional PZT thin films. We estimated that the piezoelectric properties of MLCs by FEM simulation, and confirmed that the effective transverse piezoelectric coefficients (d 31,eff ) increased with the number of PZT layers. The piezoelectric coefficients calculated to be d 31,eff  = ?2964 pC/N at 25 PZT layers, which is much higher than those of conventional single-layer piezoelectric thin films.  相似文献

Acicular γ-Fe2O3particles were heated at 90°C in alkali solution containing Co2+and Fe2+with Co2+/Fe2+ratio of 0.5. The coercivity of resultant particles increased linearly with increasing the Co2+content, and the coercivity of 900 Oe was obtained for the particles with Co2+content of 7 wt%. The shape of the particles is acicular, and an appreciable variation of morphology by the treatment in alkali solution was not observed. Cobalt-ferrite was expected to crystallize epitaxially on the surface of γ-Fe2O3particles, and the increase of coercivity was attributed to the magnetic anisotropy of the cobalt-ferrite. A variation of coercivity by annealing at 60°C and print-through were small compared with those of the particles in which iron were homogeneously substituted by cobalt ions. Such stability was explained by considering that a very high concentration of cobalt ions exist only on the surface of γ-Fe2O3particles, and the migration of cobalt ions is extremely difficult.  相似文献

Silica glass was implanted with negative 60 keV Cu ions at an ion flux from 5 to 75 μA/cm2 up to a fluence of 1 × 1017 ions/cm2 at initial sample temperatures of 300, 573 and 773 K. Spectra of ion-induced photon emission (IIPE) were collected in situ in the range from 250 to 850 nm. Optical absorption spectra of implanted specimens were ex situ measured in the range from 190 to 2500 nm.

IIPE spectra showed a broad band centered around 560 nm (2.2 eV) that was assigned to Cu+ solutes. The band appeared at the onset of irradiation, increased in intensity up to a fluence of about 5 × 1015 ions/cm2 and then gradually decreased indicating three stage of the ion beam synthesis of nanoclusters: accumulation of implants, nucleation and growth nanoclusters. The IIPE intensity normalized on the ion flux is independent on the ion flux below 20 μA/cm2at higher fluences. The intensity of the band increased with increasing samples temperature, when optical absorption spectra reveal the increase of Cu nanoparticles size.  相似文献

We have recently reported the successful development of a fully coherent X-ray laser (XRL) at 13.9 nm by an oscillator-amplifier configuration with two targets. In the experiment, a seed XRL beam from the first target is injected into a plasma amplifier at the second target. The observed XRL beam has full spatial coherence and 0.2 mrad of nearly diffraction-limited divergence. In order to improve the output fluence, the amplification properties of the XRL beam have been investigated using various plasma lengths of the second amplifier target. The output energy has been improved by a factor of ten, increasing the length of the gain region to 10 mm, resulting in about 0.2 /spl mu/J of output energy.  相似文献
