Improving a Flame Photometer Detector for Gas Chromatography

A design is described for a chromatography flame-photometric detector. Tests and calculations confirm that it performs well in the analysis of compounds containing sulfur and phosphorus.     

Methods of Checking the Optical Characteristics of Soft Contact Lenses

A new classification is proposed for contact lenses based on standard specimens (tolerance monitoring). The best wavelengths have been determined for measuring the spectral transmission coefficients of the standard specimens, and realistic bounds have been defined for the tolerance fields for the most common colors of these lenses.

An electric pulse method of investigating subsurface nonuniformities on excessively moistened forest soils is proposed. An instrument designed to use this method in practice is described.
