We consider the problem of scheduling communication on optical WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) networks using the light-trails technology. We seek to design scheduling algorithms such that the given transmission requests can be scheduled using a minimum number of wavelengths (optical channels). We provide algorithms and close lower bounds for two versions of the problem on an nn processor linear array/ring network. In the stationary   version, the pattern of transmissions (given) is assumed to not change over time. For this, a simple lower bound is cc, the congestion or the maximum total traffic required to pass through any link. We give an algorithm that schedules the transmissions using O(c+logn)O(c+logn) wavelengths. We also show a pattern for which Ω(c+logn/loglogn)Ω(c+logn/loglogn) wavelengths are needed. In the on-line   version, the transmissions arrive and depart dynamically, and must be scheduled without upsetting the previously scheduled transmissions. For this case we give an on-line algorithm which has competitive ratio Θ(logn)Θ(logn). We show that this is optimal in the sense that every on-line algorithm must have competitive ratio Ω(logn)Ω(logn). We also give an algorithm that appears to do well in simulations (for the classes of traffic we consider), but which has competitive ratio between Ω(log2n/loglogn)Ω(log2n/loglogn) and O(log2n)O(log2n). An all silica DDR (deca dodecasil rhombohedral) zeolite membrane with dense, interlocked structure has been developed for separation of H2 from HI/I2 mixture of HI decomposition reaction. In this work, the DDR zeolite membrane was synthesized on the seeded clay-alumina substrate within 5 days. The seeds were synthesized by sonication mediated hydrothermal process within short crystallization time which enhanced the nucleation for the membrane growth. The synthesized membranes along with seed crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). The selectivity of hydrogen with respect to CO2 and Ar was evaluated by single gas permeation studies at room temperature. The tests for corrosion resistance were carried out upto 120 h with both support and DDR membrane at 130 °C which confirmed the stability of membrane under the harsh HI/I2 environment.  相似文献

An attempt was made to individually analyze a germplasm collection of 54 indigenous Indian sesame cultivars for fatty acid and lignan composition of their seed oil by gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography, respectively. The entries varied in their fatty acid and lignan composition. The mean percentage contents of palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and α‐linolenic acids ranged between 10–22, 5–10, 38–50, 18–43 and less than 1 whereas sesamol, sesamin and sesamolin scored between 3–37, 27–67, 20–59 of the total percentage of lignan, respectively. The highest percentage of α‐linolenic acid (ALA) was obtained in Var9 (1.3 % of the total fatty acids). Among the lignans, high sesamin content is considered to be significant, particularly in terms of long shelf life and nutraceutical value of sesame seed oil. The study has broadened our understanding related to differential biochemical composition of the rich sesame germplasms, thereby providing us with a useful groundwork for identifying potential targets and suitable cultivars for genetic engineering approaches to be undertaken in order to improve the nutritional quality of sesame oil, which in turn would be beneficial towards human health.  相似文献

The glass–ceramics containing a rarely achievable nanocrystalline SrIINbIVO3 phase in the 53.75SiO2–18.25K2O–9Bi2O3–9SrO–9Nb2O5–0.5CeO2–0.5Eu2O3 (mol%) glass system were prepared by the melt‐quench technique followed by a two‐stage controlled heat treatment. The unusual oxidation state of Nb in SrIINbIVO3 crystal is 4+ and upon heat treatment of the samples at lower temperature of 500°C for several hours, the glass composition and chemical environment around Nb ions played a key role for the formation of SrIINbIVO3 in the glass–ceramics. The microstructure of the glass–ceramics was studied using TEM and FESEM. The TEM images advocate 10–40 nm crystallite size of SrIINbIVO3. FTIR study confirms that all the samples consist of SiO4, BiO3, BiO6, and NbO6 structural units. The refractive index at different wavelengths was found to vary in the range 1.7105–1.7905 and increase with increase in heat‐treatment time. The luminescence spectra of Eu3+‐doped glass and glass–ceramics were recorded at 465 nm excitation wavelength and the luminescence intensity is found to be increased with heat‐treatment time due to increase in crystallinity. The high intensity ratio of 5D07F2 to 5D07F1 indicates that the Eu3+‐doped nanocrystalline SrIINbIVO3 glass–ceramics are promising candidate materials as red‐light source.  相似文献

The precursor glass in the ZnO–Al2O3–B2O3–SiO2 (ZABS) system doped with Eu2O3 was prepared by the melt‐quench technique. The transparent willemite, Zn2SiO4 (ZS) glass–ceramic nanocomposites were derived from this precursor glass by a controlled crystallization process. The formation of willemite crystal phase, size, and morphology with increase in heat‐treatment time was examined by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) techniques. The average calculated crystallite size obtained from XRD is found to be in the range 18–70 nm whereas the grain size observed in FESEM is 50–250 nm. The refractive index value is decreased with increase in heat‐treatment time which is caused by the partial replacement of ZnO4 units of ZS nanocrystals by AlO4 units due to generation of vacancies. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) reflection spectroscopy was used to evaluate its structural evolution. Vickers hardness study indicates marked improvement of hardness in the resultant glass‐ceramics compared with its precursor glass. The photoluminescence spectra of Eu3+ ions exhibit emission transitions of 5D07Fj (j = 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4) and its excitation spectra show an intense absorption band at 395 nm. These spectra reveal that the luminescence performance of the glass–ceramic nanocomposites is enhanced up to 17‐fold with the process of heat treatment. This enhancement is caused by partitioning of Eu3+ ions into glassy phase instead of into the willemite crystals with progress of heat treatment. Such luminescent glass–ceramic nanocomposites are expected to find potential applications in solid‐state red lasers, phosphors, and optical display systems.  相似文献

We have investigated laser action in a binary mixture of dyes, Rh-6G and DCM, resulting in tunable laser emission over an extended frequency region. The two dyes absorb the same pump radiation but fluoresce over frequency ranges that are shifted with respect to each other, thereby resulting in extended tunability. Following a time-dependent analysis of a rate-equation model that describe the operation of such a laser, theoretical estimates for optimum dye concentrations and the corresponding extension of the laser tuning range have been obtained.  相似文献

Models meant for logic verification and simulation are often used for Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG). For custom digital circuits, these models contain many tristate devices that tend to lower coverage for stuck-faults. Additionally, these tristate devices contribute to increased ATPG runtimes, fewer generated test sequences, and an overall lower test quality. The circuit under test is partitioned into channel connected sub-networks (CCSN) that consist of transistors that are connected at their source or drain terminals, except when these terminals are power, ground or primary inputs. Unlike other published work, algorithms presented in this paper analyze each CCSN in the context of its environment, thereby capturing the logical relationships among its input signals. Other algorithms presented include identification and modeling of embedded latches, clock generators and memory circuits. An abstract array model for memory that reduces the size of the model and increases simulation speed is also presented. When one specific feature of the algorithm was disabled, experimental results showed higher ATPG runtimes of about 35%, and an average decrease in fault coverage of around 15–20%. For the largest data cache, the memory modeling algorithm decreased the number of primitives from 1.23 million to 139 thousand.  相似文献
