Rolandic discharge (RD), noted in the electroencephalography (EEG) of patients with benign epilepsy in childhood with centrotemporal spikes (BECCT) has several unique features. One feature is that the amount or frequency of RDs does not correlate well with the incidence of seizures in BECCT although it is a key finding in the diagnosis of this epileptic syndrome. In this study, we examined the efficacy of antiepileptic drugs focusing on the disappearance of RDs in relationship with seizure control. Forty patients with BECCT who were not medically treated prior to this study were randomly sorted into three groups. Twenty patients were assigned for clonazepam (CZP) treatment, 10 patients for valproate (VPA) and the remaining 10 patients for carbamazepine (CBZ). Each drug was administered for 4 consecutive weeks. EEGs were recorded twice during the study, before and 4 weeks after the medication trial. The effects of each treatment on RDs were assessed. RDs disappeared in 15 of the 20 cases treated with CZP (75%) within 4 weeks while the same was observed in only one of the 10 cases treated with VPA (10%). CBZ failed to demonstrate any effect on RD. In the group treated with CZP, there were no differences in seizure incidence, seizure type and blood concentration of CZP between the patients whose RDs disappeared and those whose RDs remained.  相似文献

Summary A survey is given of known continuity properties of solution concepts for cooperative games. Further continuity properties are derived for the bargaining set, the kernel, the equal division core, the least core, the least tax core, the-value and also for the core of non sidepayment games.

Weiter Kontinuitätseigenschaften werden abgeleitet für die Aushandlungsmenge, den Kernel, den Kern gleicher Aufteilungen, den kleinsten Kern, den kleinsten tax-Kern, den-Wert und den Kern von Spielen ohne Seitenzahlungen.

The extruded Al-8%Fe-2%Co RS/PM alloy, produced by gas atomization, exhibited UTS=460 MPa and 8% elongation at room temperature, and UTS=250 MPa at 300 °C. The properties are strongly influenced by the powder microstructure and the processing conditions used. The optimum mechanical properties can be obtained by the use of powder fraction with particle size <63 m. A temperature of about 400 °C proved to be the best compromise for degassing and extrusion in order to achieve a low hydrogen content without considerable dispersoid coarsening.  相似文献

Statistical shape modeling is a widely used technique for the representation and analysis of the shapes and shape variations present in a population. A statistical shape model models the distribution in a high dimensional shape space, where each shape is represented by a single point. We present a design study on the intuitive exploration and visualization of shape spaces and shape models. Our approach focuses on the dual‐space nature of these spaces. The high‐dimensional shape space represents the population, whereas object space represents the shape of the 3D object associated with a point in shape space. A 3D object view provides local details for a single shape. The high dimensional points in shape space are visualized using a 2D scatter plot projection, the axes of which can be manipulated interactively. This results in a dynamic scatter plot, with the further extension that each point is visualized as a small version of the object shape that it represents. We further enhance the population‐object duality with a new type of view aimed at shape comparison. This new “shape evolution view” visualizes shape variability along a single trajectory in shape space, and serves as a link between the two spaces described above. Our three‐view exploration concept strongly emphasizes linked interaction between all spaces. Moving the cursor over the scatter plot or evolution views, shapes are dynamically interpolated and shown in the object view. Conversely, camera manipulation in the object view affects the object visualizations in the other views. We present a GPU‐accelerated implementation, and show the effectiveness of the three‐view approach using a number of real‐world cases. In these, we demonstrate how this multi‐view approach can be used to visually explore important aspects of a statistical shape model, including specificity, compactness and reconstruction error.  相似文献

Deformation is a topic of interest in many disciplines. In particular in medical research, deformations of surfaces and even entire volumetric structures are of interest. Clear visualization of such deformations can lead to important insight into growth processes and progression of disease.
We present new techniques for direct focus+context visualization of deformation fields representing transformations between pairs of volumetric datasets. Typically, such fields are computed by performing a non-rigid registration between two data volumes. Our visualization is based on direct volume rendering and uses the GPU to compute and interactively visualize features of these deformation fields in real-time. We integrate visualization of the deformation field with visualization of the scalar volume affected by the deformations. Furthermore, we present a novel use of texturing in volume rendered visualizations to show additional properties of the vector field on surfaces in the volume.  相似文献

While many studies have concentrated on the effects of the spatial distribution of services on individual accessibility, only little is known about the ways in which equity of individual accessibility is affected by the temporal organisation of service delivery. This paper seeks to deepen our understanding about the relationship between accessibility, equity and the opening hours of public service facilities on the basis of space-time accessibility measures. Three approaches based on different equity principles are presented to schedule the opening hours of public service facilities: a utilitarian, an egalitarian and a distributive approach. A case study of public libraries in Ghent (Belgium) demonstrates the relevance of these approaches for amending the opening hours of public services to control the equity of accessibility levels across individuals.  相似文献

Mayonnaise currently is produced using high shear stirrers. Here we present a new production method using a magnetic emulsification device. According to the new method a stable oil-in-water emulsion is formed by pumping the two immiscible liquids through a magnetohydrodynamic dispersion device consisting of a Venturi provided with an orthogonal permanent magnetic field. As a proof of concept, magnetically emulsified highly viscous mayonnaise was produced in a batch process and in a continuous process. The viscosity of the mayonnaise was significantly enhanced by applying the magnetic field. The oil droplet size distribution of mayonnaise produced using the magnetic emulsification method was similar to mayonnaise produced with conventional high shear mixers. In contrast to conventional processes no fast moving mixers were needed in this new mayonnaise production scheme.  相似文献

An effective removal of atmospheric and topographic effects on remote-sensing imagery is an essential preprocessing step for mapping land cover accurately in mountain areas. Various techniques that remove these effects have been proposed and consist of specific combinations of an atmospheric and a topographic correction (TC) method. However, it is possible to generate a wide range of new combined correction methods by applying alternative combinations of atmospheric and TC methods. At present, a systematic overview of the statistical performance and data input requirement of preprocessing techniques is missing. In order to assess the individual and combined impacts of atmospheric and TC methods, 15 permutations of two atmospheric and/or four TC methods were evaluated statistically and compared to the uncorrected imagery. Furthermore, results of the integrated ATCOR3 method were included. This evaluation was performed in a study area in the Romanian Carpathian mountains. Results showed that the combination of a transmittance-based atmospheric correction (AC), which corrects the effects of Rayleigh scattering and water-vapour absorption, and a pixel-based C or Minnaert TC, which account for diffuse sky irradiance, reduced the image distortions most efficiently. Overall results indicated that TC had a larger impact than AC and there was a trade-off between the statistical performance of preprocessing techniques and their data requirement. However, the normalized difference vegetation index analysis indicated that atmospheric methods resulted in a larger impact on the spectral information in bands 3 and 4.  相似文献

The rate of return earned on a deposit can depend on its term, the amount of money invested in it, or both. Most banks, for example, offer a higher interest rate for longer term deposits. This implies that if one individual has capital available for investment now, but needs it in the next period, whereas the opposite holds for another individual, then they can both benefit from cooperation since it allows them to invest in a longer term deposit. A similar situation arises when the rate of return on a deposit depends on the amount of capital invested in it. Although the benefits of such cooperative behavior may seem obvious to all individuals, the actual participation of an individual depends on what part of the revenues he eventually receives. The allocation of the jointly earned benefits to the investors thus plays an important part in the stability of the cooperation. This paper provides a game theoretical analysis of this allocation problem. Several classes of corresponding deposit games are introduced. For each class, necessary conditions for a nonempty core are provided, and allocation rules that yield core-allocations are examined.  相似文献
