This paper presents a combination of novel feature vectors construction approach for face recognition using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based intellectual property (IP) core implementation of transform block in face recognition systems. Initially, four experiments have been conducted including the DWT feature selection and filter choice, features optimisation by coefficient selections and feature threshold. To examine the most suitable method of feature extraction, different wavelet quadrant and scales have been evaluated, and it is followed with an evaluation of different wavelet filter choices and their impact on recognition accuracy. In this study, an approach for face recognition based on coefficient selection for DWT is presented, and the significant of DWT coefficient threshold selection is also analysed. For the hardware implementation, two architectures for two-dimensional (2-D) Haar wavelet transform (HWT) IP core with transpose-based computation and dynamic partial reconfiguration (DPR) have been synthesised using VHDL and implemented on Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGAs. Experimental results and comparisons between different configurations using partial and non-partial reconfiguration processes and a detailed performance analysis of the area, power consumption and maximum frequency are also discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Resistant starch (RS) can be generated through heat moisture treatment (HMT). The HMT was conducted by modifying starch using different ratio of moisture content, high temperature and heating time. A number of studies showed that the effects of HMT on RS contents in cereals, pulses, tubers and fruits were inconsistent. This study aimed to analyse the impact of HMT on RS level in various carbohydrate sources through a meta-analysis approach. Study selection was conducted with the PRISMA method. There were 21 relevant studies and 67 data used for meta-analysis. The database was analysed by using Hedges’ d. The results showed that there was a significant impact of HMT on RS level of cereals, especially wheat. The highest increase in RS levels for various carbohydrate sources in starch was influenced by the interaction of treatment between water content at 15 ≤ x < 25%, heating time at 0.25 < x ≤ 6 h and temperature at 120 ≤ x ≤ 130 °C.  相似文献

In this particular work, the fabrication of SrTiO3@TiO2@ Fe2O3 nanorod heterostructure has been demonstrated via hydrothermal growth of SrTiO3 cubic on the rutile TiO2 nanorod as a template and later sensitized with Fe2O3 for photocatalytic solar hydrogen production in a tandem photoelectrochemical cell and dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) module. The photocatalytic solar hydrogen production of this heterostructure was optimized by controlling the amount of Sr and Fe on the surface of photocatalyst. The details of the influencing parameters on the physicochemical and photoelectrochemical properties are discussed. It was found that the morphology and quality of the fabricated materials were greatly manipulated by the concentration of Sr and Fe. The optimized 0.025 M SrTiO3@TiO2@ Fe2O3 heterostructure exhibited a higher photoconversion efficiency with a long electron lifetime, low charge transfer resistance and large donor density at the electrode and electrolyte interface. This composite has significantly improved the photocatalytic hydrogen production, yielding 716 μmol/cm2 of maximum accumulative hydrogen. These results show that morphology rendering and manipulation of energy band alignment is crucial in creating efficient heterojunctions for excellent contributions in photocatalytic applications.  相似文献

Annealing is one of starch physical modification techniques that can increase resistant starch (RS) content. However, the effect of annealing on RS varies based on botanical sources. Starch crystal type and relative crystallinity are two important characteristics of starch. This study aimed to compare the influence of annealing on starch crystallinity and different starch crystal type (A, B and C) and investigate its effect on RS content by literature meta-analysis study. The literature review was carried out using 22 research articles and 101 data points. The result showed relative crystallinity increase from the highest changes to the lowest, respectively; C-type crystal (18.98%) followed by B (13.60%) and A-type crystal (8.17%). Meta-analysis study results showed a significant increase of RS content on starches with A-type crystal (SMD = 6.46; 95% CI: 3.22–9.70; P < 0.01) and a positive relationship between the degree of crystallinity and RS content after annealing modification.  相似文献

The growing demand for functional foods with a high resistant starch content (per cent RS) could be met by annealing starch modification. Through a meta-analysis, this study sought to shed light on the effect of annealing on the resistant starch content of various crop types. Twenty-one studies published between 2000 and 2020 were selected and eighty data points were extracted to be analysed using meta-essential tools. Hedge’s d Standardised Mean Difference (SMD) was designated for the effect size approach. Resistant starch content was influenced by the botanical origin of the carbohydrate source and the annealing parameters such as moisture content, incubation time and temperature. According to a meta-analysis of the data collected, the most significant increase in per cent RS is perceived on cereal (SMD: 7.58; 95% CI: 2.88–12.29; P = 0.001). Further analysis revealed that normal wheat had the highest significant per cent RS increase (SMD: 41.56; 95% CI: 19.52–63.61; P = 0.001). Annealing parameters resulted in significant %RS increase were moisture content of 80%, incubation time of 24 h and incubation temperature of 50–54 °C. These results were expected to provide data to optimise per cent RS increase through annealing efficiently.  相似文献

The ultrasonic (US)-treated batter mixtures of commercial methylcellulose (MC) as the fried potato strips' coating layer were demonstrated. The layer formed a rapid gel that absorbs the substrate's water content and related functional groups that contribute to acrylamide formation reduction. Different concentrations of MC (0.5-2.0 w/v %) mixtures were subjected to US at 20 W to evaluate coating layers' effect prior to the deep-frying process. At 1% w/v concentration batter mixture, the USMC layer reduced the highest acrylamide value. For comparison purposes, the differences in the acrylamide content of the USMC, the non-USMC and the uncoated samples were 64.7 ± 5.04, 156.4 ± 7.44 and 344.1 ± 5.39 ng g-1, respectively. The results were supported with lower oil uptake and water retention of the USMC compared with the non-USMC with the values of 2.2 g/100g and 28.6 g/100g with 5.1 g/100g and 47 g/100g, respectively.  相似文献

This paper proposes the harvest season artificial bee colony (HSABC) algorithm, a novel improvement of the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, for computing an economic dispatch solution of a power system based on fuel consumption and the produced emissions. A standard model of the power system, the IEEE‐62 bus system, is used to show the performance of HSABC using equality and inequality constraints to determine the optimal solution for the economic operation of the power system. Simulations involving the proposed algorithm show that HSABC has better ability to determine the minimum values for the operating cost problem with faster convergence and shorter running time when compared to the traditional ABC algorithm. © 2014 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
