In this work, the physical properties of nanocrystalline samples of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1−xFexO3 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.20) perovskite manganites synthesized by the reverse micelle (RM) technique were explored in detail. The phase purity, crystal structure, and crystallite size of the samples were determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. All the samples had rhombohedral crystal structure and crystallite size increased with increase in Fe content in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3. The scanning electron micrographs (SEMs) exhibited smooth surface morphology and nonuniform shape of the particles. The optical properties studied using UV-visible absorption spectroscopy revealed a decrease in the absorbance and optical band gap with an increase in Fe content in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 compound. The temperature-dependent resistivity measurements revealed semiconducting nature of x = 0 and 0.1 samples up to the studied temperature range, while a metal-to-insulator transition was observed at higher Fe doping. Magnetic studies revealed weak ferromagnetism in all the samples and a reduction in the maximum magnetization with an increase in Fe content. A close correlation between electrical transport and magnetic properties was observed with the doping of Fe ion in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 at Mn site. These results advocate strong interactions associated with the double exchange mechanism among Fe3+ and Mn3+ ions.  相似文献

Sammo plant which is traditionally used in Egypt for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, was administered at low and high levels (4% and 8% respectively at the expense of starch) to adult male alloxanized albino rats, to study its effect on energy metabolism. Adenosine-5-triphosphate (ATP) in the brain (B), liver (L) and kidneys (K) organs of alloxanized rats was significantly lowered compared with the negative control. On the other hand, adenosine-5-diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine-5-monophosphate (AMP) contents in the same organs were elevated markedly. In this connection myokinase activity in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions of B, L and K organs was stimulated at control. Also, the activities of some fundamental enzymes of the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway i.e. glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) and 6-phospho-gluconate dehydrogenase (6-PGD) in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions of the same organs were markedly increased. Administration of Sammo at low and high levels reduced the consumption of ATP in B, L and K organs relative to positive control. Whereas, ADP and AMP contents were relatively reduced. Also, myokinase activity in the same organs were relatively inhibited. The activity of G-6-PD and 6-PGD in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions of the same organs were also decreased relative to the positive control.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of Co doped ZnO nanoparticles by combustion method using citric acid as a fuel for 0%, 1%, 3%, 5% and 10% of Co doping. The structural, optical and dielectric properties of the samples were studied. Crystallite sizes were obtained from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns whose values are decreasing with increase in Co content up to 5%. The XRD analysis also ensures that ZnO has a hexagonal (wurtzite) crystal structure and Co2+ ions were successfully incorporated into the lattice positions of Zn2+ ions. The TEM image shows the average particle size in the range of 10–20 nm for 3% Co doped ZnO nanoparticles. The energy band gap as obtained from the UV–visible spectrophotometer was found gradually increasing up to 5% of Co doping. The dielectric constants (?′, ?″), dielectric loss (tan δ) and ac conductivity (σac) were studied as the function of frequency and composition, which have been explained by ‘Maxwell Wagner Model’.  相似文献

Thin film of selenium sulphide (Se75S25) has been prepared using inert-gas consolidation (IGC) method and micro-structural, optical and electrical measurements were carried out on the film. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies show that the deposited film is well adherent and grains are uniformly distributed over the surface of the substrate. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the film is polycrystalline nature with single phase and crystallizes in the orthorhombic structure. The field emission transmission electron microscope (FETEM) revealed the uniform dispersion and an average particle size of 20 nm. Analysis of the optical absorption data indicates that the optical band gap Eopt of this film obeys Tauc's relation for the allowed non-direct transition with energy gap is 2.48 eV. Electrical conduction measurements also show the presence of two distinct phases of the materials and characteristic changes in transport properties due to the nanosize of the materials.  相似文献

This paper reviews the SO2 emission from a 0.3 m2 stainless‐steel fluidized‐bed combustor. Fine coal was premixed with fine limestone and fed pneumatically under the bed. The SO2 emission was found to depend largely on air staging ratio and bed temperature, which agrees with previous observations. The SO2 emission observed in sorbent‐free tests (reported earlier by Khan and Cibbs, 1995) was found to be proportional to the sulphur content of the fuel when limestone was added, the sulphur capture at a fixed Ca/S molar ratio was dependent on oxygen stoichiometry and bed temperature. Finely sized limestone enhanced the effectivity of the sorbent at low bed temperature and air staging ratio. During staged combustion, the combustion efficiency depended largely on primary air to coal ratio. Around 90% combustion efficiency was observed at 1 m/s fluidizing velocity which was reduced when fluidizing velocity was increased to 1.5 and 2 m/s. This reduction is due to increased elutriation of finer coal particles from the combustor.  相似文献

Lipids in the synovial fluid of patients with active rheumatoid arthritis are elevated compared to normal synovial fluid and that of other inflammatory arthropathies. Various assumptions about the role of these lipids have been made. This study offers evidence that these lipids may contribute to the synovitis in rheumatoid arthritis through participation in the arachidonic pathway within the joint space. Phospholipase A2 activity, phospholipids, prostaglandin E2, and leukotriene B4 have been correlated in the synovial fluid and plasma of untreated rheumatoid patients and compared with that of patients with osteoarthritis.  相似文献

This paper reports the thermal, microstructural, dielectric and magnetic properties of La0.75Sr0.25Fe0.65Ni0.35O3 nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized via reverse micelle technique. The thermogravimetric analysis of as-prepared NPs confirmed a good thermal stability of the sample. Powder x-ray diffraction data analyzed with a Rietveld refinement technique revealed single-phase and orthorhombic distorted perovskite crystal structure of the NPs having Pbnm space group. The transmission electron microscopy images show the crystalline nature and formation of nanostructures with a fairly uniform distribution of particles throughout the sample. Temperature-dependent dielectric properties of the NPs in accordance with the Kramers–Kronig transformation (KKT) model, universal dielectric response model and jump relaxation model have been discussed. Electrode or interface polarization is likely the cause of the observed dielectric behavior. Due to grain boundaries and Schottky barriers of the metallic electrodes of semiconductors, the depletion region is observed, which gives rise to Maxwell–Wagner relaxation and hence high dielectric constants. Magnetic studies revealed the ferromagnetic nature of the prepared NPs upon Sr and Ni doping in LaFeO3 perovskite at room temperature. Therefore, these NPs could be a potential candidate as electrode material in solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

Water-soluble and biocompatible D-glucuronic acid coated Na2WO4 and BaCO3 nanoparticles were synthesized for the first time to be used as x-ray computed tomography (CT) contrast agents. Their average particle diameters were 3.2 ± 0.1 and 2.8 ± 0.1 nm for D-glucuronic acid coated Na2WO4 and BaCO3 nanoparticles, respectively. All the nanoparticles exhibited a strong x-ray attenuation. In vivo CT images were obtained after intravenous injection of an aqueous sample suspension of D-glucuronic acid coated Na2WO4 nanoparticles, and positive contrast enhancements in the kidney were clearly shown. These findings indicate that the nanoparticles reported in this study may be promising CT contrast agents.  相似文献
