Reviews studies grouped under the areas of response problems, dynamic determinants, individual differences, clinical studies, reduction of movement, and theories of autokinesis (AK). Much of the work to date is concerned with the demonstration of various "suggestion effects" without regard to the basis of residual AK. Determinants of AK are many and varied but little can be said about their relative potencies. Although a modified version of the Gregory-Zangwill model may serve well, there is presently no single theory of AK which accounts for all the data. Further developments in the theory and control of AK hinge upon the sedulous development of improved techniques for measuring AK. 3 criteria for measuring AK are offered. (3 p. ref.) Comments on S. T. Meier's (see record 1994-03401-001) discussion of the importance of emphasizing measurement in graduate education in psychology. Meier highlighted 1 major impediment to the lack of emphasis placed on general measurement issues in undergraduate and graduate curriculum: the balkanization of measurement concerns in different areas of psychology. Other impediments to revitalizing the measurement curriculum are outlined and a schema by M. S. Aftanas (see record 1989-24546-001) is suggested as a base for planning curricula. Psychologists should be aware that measurement is of primary concern to all areas of psychology, and curricula at both undergraduate and graduate levels should deal with basic principles of all behavioral measurement. All measurement involves some system or mechanism for deriving metric information and yet definitions and theories of the process in psychology have not emphasized this element. The theory of standard systems, on the other hand, introduces the system as the foundational element in the measurement process. When combined with a categorization of types of standard systems and other elements of the measurement process, the theory highlights, and provides a meta-theoretical framework for integrating the historically important and heuristic contributions to measurement theory. The early positive contributions that focussed on the development of systems of measurement and models for deriving metric information, were deflected by the requirements outlined in the physical addition theory, and in the limiting theory of scales. Some of these requirements were liberalized by subsequent theoretical thrusts. Future research should bolster the promise of the Rasch solutions with emphasis on the provision of standard systems with empirically anchored magnitude points.  相似文献

A recently installed Thomson scattering diagnostic on COMPASS tokamak uses two high power lasers. The presented protection system ensures laser safety of the personnel. Protection covers three areas–laser laboratory, spectrometer laboratory and tokamak hall. Laser protection system inputs are controlling the covering of the laser beam path, the entrance doors, the beam shutters and the laser cooling. Six regimes are defined for the protection system, covering all operation of the laser system, including laser service and low power beam alignment. Hardware implementation of the protection is based on PLC. The system is controlled via PCs with a touch screen. Connection to the COMPASS personnel protection system is described.  相似文献

A new Thomson scattering diagnostic has been designed and is currently being installed on the COMPASS tokamak in IPP Prague in the Czech Republic. The requirements for this system are very stringent with approximately 3 mm spatial resolution at the plasma edge. A critical part of this diagnostic is the laser source. To achieve the specified parameters, a multilaser solution is utilized. Two 30 Hz 1.5 J Nd:YAG laser systems, used at the fundamental wavelength of 1064 nm, are located outside the tokamak area at a distance of 20 m from the tokamak. The design of the laser beam transport path is presented. The approach leading to a final choice of optimal focusing optics is given. As well as the beam path to the tokamak, a test path of the same optical length was built. Performance tests of the laser system carried out using the test path are described.  相似文献

A new Thomson scattering diagnostic system has been designed and is being built now on the COMPASS tokamak at the Institute of Plasma Physics ASCR in Prague (IPP Prague) in the Czech Republic. This contribution focuses on design, development, and installation of the light collection and detection system. High spatial resolution of 3 mm will be achieved by a combination of design of collection optics and connected polychromators. Imaging characteristics of both core and edge plasma collection objectives are described and fiber backplane design is presented. Several calibration procedures are discussed. The operational deployment of the Thomson scattering diagnostic is planned by the end of 2010.  相似文献
