This paper explores the linkage between the entrepreneurial orientation of established firms and the development of radical innovation. Through five case studies in firms involved in radical innovation, three propositions are developed, suggesting that proactiveness, risk‐taking and autonomy stimulate the development of radical innovation, whereas competitive aggressiveness does not necessarily do so, as radical innovations are directed towards the creation of entirely new arenas of business, where existing competitors are not present.  相似文献

Summary 2-Furyl vinyl ketone was polymerised using anionic, cationic and free-radical initiators. Yields and molecular weights varied with the type of activation. Zusammenfassung In grünem (Taiwan Gunpowder) und schwarzem (Ceylon high OP) Tee sind beträchtliche Mengen an Aromastoffen in glykosidischer Bindung vorhanden; ihr Anteil ist sogar höher als der an freien Aromastoffen. Hauptkomponenten sind in beiden Teesorten cis-3-Hexen-1-ol, Benzylalkohol und 2-Phenylethanol in gebundener Form, dazu im Schwarztee Linalool und im grünen Tee Geraniol. Die unterschiedlichen Anteile dieser beiden Terpenalkohole spiegeln die unterschiedlichen Tee-Varietäten wieder, denen die untersuchten Teesorten angehören: der Ceylon-Tee ist der Varietätassamica zuzuordnen, der Tee aus Taiwan der Varietätsinensis. Die Zusammensetzung der aus gebundenen Formen freisetzbaren Aromastoffe war ähnlich komplex wie die der freien Aromastoffe, wobei die Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Teesorten auf den verschiedenen Herstellungsverfahren beruhen. Das Auftreten gebundener Formen solcher Aromastoffe, die nicht originär vorhanden sind, sondern erst während der Welk- oder der Fermentationsphase gebildet werden, impliziert das Vorhandensein glykosidierender Aktivitäten im Teeblatt noch in relativ späten Stadien der Schwarzteeherstellung. Die Untersuchung der gebundenen Anteile an Aromastoffen trägt neben der Analyse der freien Aromastoffe wesentlich zum Verständnis der Reaktionen im Teeblatt wahrend der verschiedenen Produktionsstadien bei.
Bound flavour compounds in plants 2. Part. Free and bound flavour compounds in green and black tea
Summary Green and black tea contains considerable amounts of flavour compounds which are present in glycosidic bonds, their portion being even higher than that of free flavour compounds. The main components in both of these tea varieties are 3-hexene-1-ol, benzylalcohol and 2-phenylethanol, which are present in the bound forms, and additionally linalool in black tea and geraniol in green tea. The different amounts of these terpene alcohols reflect the different varieties the teas under investigation belong to: the Ceylon tea belongs to the variety assamica, and the Taiwan tea to the variety sinensis. The composition of the flavour compounds liberated from bound forms had a similar complexity to that of the free flavour compounds, the difference being based upon the different production procedures. The occurrence of bound forms of such components that are not originally present but are produced during the withering or fermentation stage implies that glycosidating activities are still present in the tea leaf, even in a relatively late stage of the black tea production process. The investigation of the bound parts of flavour compounds delivers a valuable contribution to a better understanding of the reactions occurring in the tea leaf during the different stages of tea production.

The development of verbal and spatial working memory was investigated with an interference paradigm. Memory spans were obtained from 3 groups (8-, 10-, and 19-yr olds) under 6 different conditions: Two primary memory tasks (1 verbal, 1 spatial) were administered in isolation and in conjunction with 2 versions of a secondary task. The primary tasks required recalling a series of visually presented digits and recalling the locations of Xs in a series of visually presented grids. The secondary tasks required reporting the color of the stimuli as they were presented using either a verbal or a spatial response. Analyses revealed that all age groups showed domain-specific interference (i.e., interference by a secondary task from the same domain as the primary task), but only the 8-yr-olds also showed nonspecific interference (i.e., interference by a secondary task from a domain different than the primary memory task), suggesting that at least some executive functions do not reach adult levels of efficiency until approximately age 10. Comprehensive proteomic analyses require new methodologies to accelerate the correlation of gene sequence with protein function. Key tools for such efforts include biophysical probes that integrate into the covalent architecture of proteins. Lanthanide-binding tags (LBTs) are expressible, multitasking fusion partners that are optimized to bind lanthanide ions and have several desirable attributes, which include long-lived luminescence, excellent X-ray scattering power for phase determination, and magnetic properties to facilitate NMR spectroscopic structure elucidation. Herein, we present peptide sequences with a 40-fold higher affinity for Tb(3+) ions and significantly brighter luminescence intensity compared with existing peptides. Incorporation of an LBT onto ubiquitin as a prototype fusion protein allows the use of powerful protein-visualization techniques, which include rapid luminescence detection of LBT-tagged proteins in SDS-PAGE gels, as well as determination of protein concentrations in complex mixtures. The LBT strategy is a new alternative for expressing fluorescent fusion proteins by routine molecular biological techniques.  相似文献

The anionic polymerization of lauryllactam was initiated at 270°C using sodium hydride as an initiator and N,N′‐ethylene‐bisstearamide (EBS) as an activator (NaH:EBS molar ratio of 2). Polymerization occurred in less than 2 min and was successfully performed in an internal mixer and a twin‐screw extruder with corotating intermeshing screws (Werner & Pfleiderer ZSK 25). The content of residual monomer, as determined by thermogravimetric analysis, was lower than 0.5 wt %. Molecular weight, as measured by size exclusion chromatography, was governed by the lauryllactam:NaH molar ratio calculated on a Mn of 25 kg/mol at a constant NaH:EBS molar ratio of 2. Blends were prepared in situ by polymerization of lauryllactam solutions of various polymers. When poly(ethylene‐co‐butylacrylate) (Lotryl®; Atofina) was dissolved in lauryllactam, rubber‐toughened polyamide 12 blends were obtained. Mechanical properties of the injection‐molded polymers were examined by stress–strain as well as notched Charpy impact tests at different temperatures. Classification of a video stream is an essential preliminary step to estimate the bit loss when the video stream is transmitted over a communication network. In this paper, we classify the video frames by the average frame size and estimate the bit loss for each class when the bitrate exceeds the capacity of the bottleneck link. The video stream under study is encoded using the explicit slice-based H.264/AVC encoding scheme. This scheme reduces the burstiness of regular H.264/AVC encoded video by removing the traditional GOP structure. Instead, a repetitive combination of intracoded and predicted slices is employed, thereby introducing a specific dependence structure in the video data. We consider a bufferless model of the communication system and evaluate the channel capacity required to give a maximum allowed loss rate for each class.Due to the high variability, non-stationarity and non-homogeneity of the underlying video data, the obtained classes are checked regarding the dependence and distribution structure of the data. A new method is presented for analyzing the effects of self-absorption on photoluminescence integrating sphere quantum yield measurements. Both the observed quantum yield and luminescence spectrum are used to determine the self-absorption probability, taking into account both the initial emission and subsequent absorption and reemission processes. The analysis is experimentally validated using the model system of the laser dye perylene red dispersed in a polymer film. This approach represents an improvement over previous methods that tend to overestimate the true quantum yield, especially in cases with high sample absorbance or quantum yield values.  相似文献

Mobile learning is increasing in popularity, but not all university students have mobile devices to support it. Our study investigated cross-platform software that has the potential to allow education practitioners to provide mobile support to their students’ learning, while offering similar functionality to non-mobile users via more traditional computing platforms. Undergraduate students were trained in the use of multi-platform cloud-based note-taking software (Evernote), and used the software in independent study for 8 weeks. Data show adoption for a range of functions, particularly gathering and managing information, organisation and planning, and the recording of ideas. Multimedia functions were also adopted innovatively by some students. Use for reflection was rare. Non-adopters were in a minority, giving low utility appraisals and difficulty in changing habits as reasons. Subjective evaluations and recommendations showed that a majority of students felt positive about the software and found it quick and easy to use. Mobile and non-mobile users only differed on the number of locations in which they used the software, and the proportion of notes classified as ideas, both being higher in mobile users. The data provide decision support for education practitioners who wish to provide mobile learning to their students alongside traditional platforms.  相似文献
