The development of a fast and accurate intraoperative method that enables the differentiation and stratification of cancerous lesions is still a challenging problem in laboratory medicine. Therefore, it is important to find and optimize a simple and effective analytical method of enabling the selection of distinctive metabolites. This study aims to assess the usefulness of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) probes as a sampling method for the lipidomic analysis of brain tumors. To this end, SPME was applied to sample brain tumors immediately after excision, followed by lipidomic analysis via liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS). The results showed that long fibers were a good option for extracting analytes from an entire lesion to obtain an average lipidomic profile. Moreover, significant differences between tumors of different histological origin were observed. In-depth investigation of the glioma samples revealed that malignancy grade and isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation status impact the lipidomic composition of the tumor, whereas 1p/19q co-deletion did not appear to alter the lipid profile. This first on-site lipidomic analysis of intact tumors proved that chemical biopsy with SPME is a promising tool for the simple and fast extraction of lipid markers in neurooncology.  相似文献

The paper presents application of a hybrid method of methane hazard prediction in exploited mine workings in coal mines. For prediction, the authors used so-called local linear models, the number of which is defined in an adaptive way, and the model of time series prediction ARIMA. The prediction task consists in generating the maximum predicted methane concentration value in a certain time horizon. This forecast is then used to define a methane hazard level by means of a fuzzy system of the Mamdami type. Another important issue covered by the paper is processing of row measurement data to an acceptable form using analytical method and adaptation of the model to changing environmental conditions. The experimental part of the paper presents results of data analysis completed for two longwalls.  相似文献

Requirements for the noise immunity of the universal ADC for sensor signal conversion are formulated. The structure of the antijamming dual slope ADC for use in distributive adaptive and intelligent measurement and control systems is described. The normal mode rejection calculated by simulation of ADC operating modes and by experimental research is compared. It has been shown that the sets of operating modes of the developed ADC compared with adaptive properties provide high flexibility of this ADC for determining metrology characteristics of the developed ADC setting  相似文献

Background

One of the topics discussed in sports science is the use of medium-chain saturated fat as an energy-saving nutrient additive when approaching high-intensity exercise. The purpose of this study was to compare the blood concentrations of medium-chain and long-chain fatty acids (FAs) across different intensity loads.

Methods

Fifteen male highly trained athletes from the Russian cross-country skiing team participated in the study. Blood samples were drawn at rest, at the peak of veloergometric test with a growing exercise load till exhaustion (97–100% VO2max), and after competitions. The plasma FA profile was determined using gas-liquid chromatography.

Results

We observed a substantial increase in the concentrations of capric acid (С10:0) (+?164.1%), lauric acid (С12:0) (+?223.9%), and myristic acid (С14:0) (+?130.2%) in skiers after a sprint distance (1.3?km). A less intense increase in the concentrations of these acids (p?<?0.05) was observed after a middle length distance or cycle exercise «until exhaustion». No significant differences in long-chain saturated FA content relative to baselines during exercise tests or competitions were revealed.

Conclusions

In conclusion, the obtained results demonstrate activation of the lipolysis and the oxidation of medium-chain FA involved in the energy supply for highly trained athletes at maximum exercise loads.

The current work reports on isolation and physico‐chemical characterization of floridean starch from three species of agarophytic macro red algae. As determined by 1H‐NMR spectroscopy, the average chain length and degree of branching frequency of this starch were 18 and 4.8, respectively. According to its amylopectin chain length distribution obtained by Dionex analysis, the crystalline polymorph of floridean starch from the red alga Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis was deduced to be C‐type and this was further supported from its X‐ray crystallographic pattern. Enzymatic analysis of its glucose 6‐phosphate content showed that floridean starch had a low level of covalently linked phosphate (1 nmol per milligram starch) and this was further confirmed by 31P‐NMR. The absorbance peak of floridean starch with iodine occurred at 527—530 nm and the blue value was low (0.1), indicating the absence of amylose, which was confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Floridean starch exhibited low gelatinization temperature, low viscosity, high clarity and little or no retrogradation upon repetitive freeze‐thaw cycles, as studied by DSC and rapid viscosity analysis (RVA). These results are discussed in light of the functional properties and the structure of floridean starch.  相似文献

The Home Hospitalization Programme was initiated in Jerusalem in 1991 to provide intensive medical care at home in order to prevent or shorten hospitalizations. The programme was based upon regular home visits by physicians, and nursing assessment to determine the need for regular nursing care. Primary-care physicians and nurses were renumerated by a global monthly fee, and were on 24-h call in addition to their periodic visits. Patients were recruited by senior geriatric physicians from acute hospital wards, as well as from the community, at the family doctor's request. Ancillary services available to the home hospitalization team included laboratory and electrocardiographic testing, specialty consultations, physical occupational or speech therapy, social work and home help up to 3 h daily. Monthly visits by a senior physician provided oversight and further consultation. Home hospitalization grew out of the continuing care division of the Clalit Sick Fund, a health maintenance organization providing umbrella medical insurance and ambulatory care. The programme grew synergistically with the other facilities of continuing care to encompass a network of comprehensive services to acute, subacute and chronic patients both at home and in institutional settings. In 4 years this network succeeded in establishing the focus of subacute intensive care in the community, achieving high levels of patient and family satisfaction, as well as striking economic advantages. In its first 2 years of operation home hospitalization saved S4 million due to reduced hospital utilization, and preliminary data for the subsequent 2 years indicated that this trend continued. Home hospitalization became the hub of a far-reaching system of supportive, intensive and humane care in the community.  相似文献

The application of numerical simulations using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis when mapping processes in the course of which the heat transmission occurs has become an essential part of the heat transfer systems. The present contribution deals with the possibility to use the waste heat of the flue gas produced by small microturbines. The waste heat is mapped by means of both the numerical simulations applying the FLUENT software and the practical experiment. Utilizing a part of the waste heat for water heating and decreasing the outlet temperature of the flue gas into atmosphere when applying in co-generating units represents one of the partial benefits. The present paper brings information concerning the newly designed type of heat exchanger including the results of its numerical analysis.The analysed heat exchanger designed in the system with microturbine (MT) C30 reached generally the efficiency of 75%. Both the results of simulations and the carried out practical experiment confirmed the temperature of the flue gas to be sufficient behind the exchanger to prevent the condensation of water from the flue gas. On the contrary, except for heating water the exchanger under consideration offers – thanks to its design – also other possibilities to use of the flue gas. The practical experiment confirmed the results of the CFD prediction with rather small differences as the temperature of water obtained from the exchanger was 359 K and the designed shape of the exchanger did not result in substantial pressure losses in flue gas approximately 50 Pa. The mean logarithmic temperature difference of the mapped and verified exchanger was ~203 K.  相似文献
