Stainless steels are widely used as orthopedic implant materials. The main problems with these implant materials are fatigue fracture, fretting fatigue, wear and corrosion. Surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) is a newly developed method to improve the materials properties and performance. In the present study, AISI 304 SS was subjected to SMAT using 2, 5 and 8 mm ? 316L SS balls for 15, 30, 45 and 60 min at 50 Hz under vacuum. SMAT of 304 SS increased the surface roughness, induced the formation of mechanical twins, strain induced martensite phase, and increased the defect density, which is a function of the size of the balls and treatment time. SMAT using 5 and 8 mm ? balls significantly decreased the corrosion resistance whereas treatment using 2 mm ? balls enabled an anodic shift in Ecorr and a marginal decrease in icorr. However, increase in surface roughness leads to the formation of a defective passive film and a decrease in breakdown potential.  相似文献

This work investigates the influence of friction stir welding parameters on the mechanical properties of the dissimilar joint between AA2024-T3 and AA7075-T6. Experiments are conducted consistent with the three-level face-centered composite design. Response surface methodology is used to develop the regression model for predicting the tensile strength of the joints. The analysis of variance technique is used to access the adequacy of the developed model. The model is used to study the effect of key operating process parameters namely, tool rotation speed, welding speed and shoulder diameter on the tensile strength of the joints. The results indicate that friction stir welding of aluminum alloys at a tool rotation speed of 1050 min−1, welding speed of 40 mm/min and a shoulder diameter of 17.5 mm would produce defect less joint with high tensile strength.  相似文献

Magnetically Impelled Arc Butt (MIAB) welding is a solid state welding process especially used in circumferential butt welding of tubes in which heat is generated prior to upsetting by an electric arc moving along the peripheral edges of the weldment with the aid of an external magnetic field. This paper aims at studying the formation of Light Band (LB) zone and its effect on the weld properties of MIAB welding of carbon steel tubes. A detailed microstructural analysis has been carried out to understand the microstructural transformations taking place in Thermo-Mechanically Affected Zone leading to formation of LB zone. Welded samples show better tensile properties with higher upset current as it eliminates LB zone formation at weld interface. For lower upset current, width of the LB zone increases with increase in arc rotation current resulting in lower weld tensile strength.  相似文献

Regardless of the developments of networking and communication technologies, security is without exception a predominant feature to ensure network reliability. The future sixth-generation (6G) network is anticipated to be carried out with artificial intelligence (AI) powered communication via machine learning (ML), post-quantum cryptography, and so on. AI-powered communication has been in recent years utilized in enhancing network traffic performance with respect to resource management, optimal frequency spectrum design, security, and latency. The studies of modern wireless communications and anticipated features of 6G networks revealed a prerequisite for designing a trustworthy attack detection mechanism. In this work, a method called, Luong Attention and Hosmer Lemeshow Regression Window-based (LA-HLRW) attack detection in 6G is proposed. Initially, with the raw Botnet Attack dataset obtained as input, preprocessing is performed to normalize network traffic features. Next, the dimensionality of network traffic feature of large-scale network traffic data is reduced using the Luong Attention integrated with Long Short Term Memory (LSTM)-based Feature extraction model. Finally, with the objective of classifying network traffic samples for attack detection in 6G, we analyze the low dimensional network traffic feature set produced by Luong Attention integrated with LSTM using the Hosmer Lemeshow Logistic Regression Window-based Attack Detection model. Extensive experiments are performed with the Botnet Attack dataset to validate the efficiency of the proposed LA-HLRW method by using different parameters such as attack detection accuracy, attack detection time, precision, and recall. The overall analysis of proposed LA-HLRW results significantly reduced the attack detection time by 24%, and additionally improved attack detection accuracy, precision, and recall by 5%, 5%, and 6% as compared to existing attack detection methods respectively.  相似文献

The influence of surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) on the corrosion behaviour of AISI 409 grade stainless steel in 0.6 M NaCl was studied. SMAT using 2 mm ∅ 316L stainless steel (SS) balls for 15, 30 and 45 min and 5 mm ∅ balls for 15 min offers a better corrosion protective ability. In contrast, treatment using 5 mm ∅ balls for 30 and 45 min and by using 8 mm ∅ balls for 15, 30 and 45 min, induces microstrain and defect density that results in a decrease in corrosion resistance.  相似文献

This paper presents flow field measurements for the turbulent stratified burner introduced in two previous publications in which high resolution scalar measurements were made by Sweeney et al.  and  for model validation. The flow fields of the series of premixed and stratified methane/air flames are investigated under turbulent, globally lean conditions (?g = 0.75). Velocity data acquired with laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) and particle image velocimetry (PIV) are presented and discussed. Pairwise 2-component LDA measurements provide profiles of axial velocity, radial velocity, tangential velocity and corresponding fluctuating velocities. The LDA measurements of axial and tangential velocities enable the swirl number to be evaluated and the degree of swirl characterized. Power spectral density and autocorrelation functions derived from the LDA data acquired at 10 kHz are optimized to calculate the integral time scales. Flow patterns are obtained using a 2-component PIV system operated at 7 Hz. Velocity profiles and spatial correlations derived from the PIV and LDA measurements are shown to be in very good agreement, thus offering 3D mapping of the velocities. A strong correlation was observed between the shape of the recirculation zones above the central bluff body and the effects of heat release, stoichiometry and swirl. Detailed analyses of the LDA data further demonstrate that the flow behavior changes significantly with the levels of swirl and stratification, which combines the contributions of dilatation, recirculation and swirl. Key turbulence parameters are derived from the total velocity components, combining axial, radial and tangential velocities.  相似文献

It is essential to develop and discover alternative eco-friendly antibacterial agents due to the emergence of multi-drug-resistant microorganisms. In this study, we isolated and characterized a novel bacterium named Terrabacter humi MAHUQ-38T, utilized for the eco-friendly synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and the synthesized AgNPs were used to control multi-drug-resistant microorganisms. The novel strain was Gram stain positive, strictly aerobic, milky white colored, rod shaped and non-motile. The optimal growth temperature, pH and NaCl concentration were 30 °C, 6.5 and 0%, respectively. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence, strain MAHUQ-38T belongs to the genus Terrabacter and is most closely related to several Terrabacter type strains (98.2%–98.8%). Terrabacter humi MAHUQ-38T had a genome of 5,156,829 bp long (19 contigs) with 4555 protein-coding genes, 48 tRNA and 5 rRNA genes. The culture supernatant of strain MAHUQ-38T was used for the eco-friendly and facile synthesis of AgNPs. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image showed the spherical shape of AgNPs with a size of 6 to 24 nm, and the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis revealed the functional groups responsible for the synthesis of AgNPs. The synthesized AgNPs exhibited strong anti-bacterial activity against multi-drug-resistant pathogens, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Minimal inhibitory/bactericidal concentrations against E. coli and P. aeruginosa were 6.25/50 and 12.5/50 μg/mL, respectively. The AgNPs altered the cell morphology and damaged the cell membrane of pathogens. This study encourages the use of Terrabacter humi for the ecofriendly synthesis of AgNPs to control multi-drug-resistant microorganisms.  相似文献

This study evaluated the bacterial toxicity of lanthanum oxide micron and nano sized particles using shake flask method against gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacteria. Particle size, morphology and chemical composition were determined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Re-sults indicated that lanthanum oxide nanoparticles showed antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, but not against Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It was speculated that lanthanum oxide produced this effect by interacting with the gram-positive bacte-rial cell wall. Furthermore, lanthanum oxide bulk particles were found to enhance the pyocyanin pigment production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.)  相似文献
